As horribly slow as I am, I love endurance races, but I really don't want to run around getting lap on The Ring. If it were Le Mans or something else I'd be in.

What better way to improve at the ring than 2.4 hours of practice?

The Nurburgring 24 hour race is next weekend. Anyone interested in running 2.4 hours on the 24 hour course? If we're feeling crazy, we can run LMP and GT cars.

The Nürb is my favorite course and enduros are fantastic. Set a date and time and I'll see what I can finagle.

Picking a Thursday would be ideal, since it's the only night that we don't have something planned. Unless you want to talk to Dylan about doing something on a Friday night since that's the night he's been hosting.

Couple questions...you have FiOS I presume, right? Did you have to provide the ethernet cable for them to do that? I assume it is shielded as well. Was it a big hassle to get them to use ethernet?

Yeah, I had to run the cable. It's plain ol' cat 5e, so not shielded. I don't think it would be necessary unless where you're running the cable is exposed. Mine is all under the house. It wasn't a pain to get them to turn on the port; they can do it remotely, you have to speak to the "Fiber solutions center" when you're talking to Verizon. Don't let them tell you that they have to send someone out. Tell them that you've run the cable to your ONT and that you want them to enable the ethernet port.

It really doesn't matter to me when we run it; I'm available all next weekend. Well, I should be. During the day would be cool too.

So, I must have not been quite awake when I wrote that... the 24 Hours of Le Mans is next weekend, we should run a 2.4 hour race there. Man, I'm a dumba$$.

I didn't think that was right. Nürb was about 3 weeks ago. I wanted to set up that race but never got around to it.

I'd maybe be interested in an Endurance race, depending on what kind of cars we'd be using.

First of all I sorry for not posting this sooner, but its been a hectic week for me. After reviewing the replay I have decided to disqualify unrealanthony for the amount of contact through the first lap, and basically pushing his way to first place. The results are going to be updated shortly. Hopefully tonight will go without any problems since we'll be on the full 24 Nurburgring circuit.

Also I would like to announce that the thread for the Lotus Elise 111R Challenge has been posted. I would like all those that are going to join us for this next series to post in that thread. It can be found at the following link:

Hoping to see everyone tonight for our final race!

In that case, sign me up. I'd much rather drive GT3 over LMP.

I'm going to look into this as well. 2.4 hours would be a long time for just me to race but I'm sure I could handle it. I'd probably go for the lmp class. Were you planning this for Saturday or Sunday, and about what time?

I'm sorry to say this, but it looks like the time to put me on the 'Associate S.N.A.I.L.s' list arrived much sooner that I thought. I'm definitely out for the next three Sundays, and probably a few after those.

I will not be able to race Sunday. 👎

I am slogging thru the "new and improved computerized report card data collection system" that was designed on a wrinkled, used napkin by three drunk, dyslexic orangutans watching Robin Williams wax poetic about how the Scots created golf.

Hey everyone,

Will not make the race tomorrow. Overcoming my cold is getting harder as the weekend continues. Good luck to all the snails!

But computers are supposed to make our lives better ;) See you next week!

Darn real life, that sucks. unless of course it's something more fun than Sunday Night S.N.A.I.L. races ... yeah right :)

The Drivers list has been updated.

Wow!The Supra fully broken in is much faster...I just did 1:05.475 (online/real grip/tire wear).

Want to practice the last turn?Licence test IB-6: Toyota Supra 3.0GT Turbo A '88 @Tsukuba Circuit.Really worth it!If you want to aim for something, my time is 18.328.

Kcheeb I'm in D2 this week right?

My fiance got called in to work Sunday so no camping, but i will be able to race. Sorry for the false cancel...again.

I had a 1:05.551 in qualifying last week for pole but we had to restart due to the grid being messed up. Ended up with a 1:05.675 I think after re-qualifying. That car and the 1990 S13 Silvia are my favorites in the game.

Also, is the M3 GTR race happening tonight? Haven't had a chance to try that yet.

A onea morea timea, the S.N.A.I.L. Advance Notice Policy directly affects relegation.

You will be considered for relegation if you meet one of the following criteria (in order of importance) :

1. Did not race, with no notice.
2. Did not race, with late notice (less than 24 hours).
3. Finished with the least points in Division 1, least or second least points in Division 2.

One of the other overriding principles of promotion and relegation is division leveling. It's used to even out the number of drivers racing in each division on a given Sunday. I try to use this as a last resort, as it is outside the norm and somewhat extreme in nature. Due to the fact we were a little heavy in numbers for the first and second divisions, it was used twice, rather than not promote deserving drivers.

Good racing tomorrow as always 👍

EDIT: I forgot to mention I did not employ the new Division 3 promotion rule, as it was not in force last Sunday.

I will be racing tomorrow night but have to add my monthly disclaimer... I am on call this week and if for some reason I am a no show or evaporate in the middle of a race it is because I had to roll... You all should appreciate what I do. If I get called out it is because hundreds of people have lost their internet! So if I miss out, it is for a good cause!!

And as usual I'm still accepting ideas for themes for future weeks. ;)

There have been so many great racing concepts lately, I hope this isn't too lame *sigh*. I was thinking we could hold a "Memory Lane" night as an impromptu filler for the "summer lull". There have been several awesome track/car combinations that have come and gone and I think it would be cool to revisit some of them from time to time. ( You all know there was a combo that you were bummed to see get voted out!) It would be easy for anyone to host or set up at a moments notice... We all have the cars in the garage and I am sure there are some combinations that we are itching to go back to for one reason or another...

Hmm, that's actually quite an interesting idea. Do you mean for Magic Lap or just regular races of old combos?

I could actually see it perhaps working for Magic Lap, if we just let people use cars from previous weeks and set the track to a vote. Maybe regular racing would work better though and more people were interested. Just a few moments ago I edited the Magic Lap thread with the theme of British Cars, though I haven't decided on a track. I'd appreciate some input on either a track for British Cars (London or Top Gear are obvious but not the greatest tracks IMO) or whether people would be interested in this Memory Lane idea (either as Magic Lap or not).

Ooooh! Magic lap puts a really cool spin on it! I think it could be very workable in both standard AND magic lap capacities! The whole idea was to race the cars we have used in the SNAIL forum. I have also thought about mixing past cars and tracks randomly...

cheeb, sorry for not being able to meet up with you for our weekly Promotion and Relegation chat. However, I got some PM's yesterday (Saturday) that I didn't get to until just now. First of all, ckoerner210 sent me a note that he has to pull out of the league for the time being due to his work schedule. Since he's in D1, I would recommend cancelling out the division leveling that you imposed on yourself and put you back in D1.

It would then make sense to cancel the division leveling between D2 and D3 and move racefan78 back into D2. However, I also got a PM from aubdogg yesterday saying that his PS3 is fried and he won't be able to race for a while. Therefore, it may make sense to keep that leveling in place since D3 will be even more down on numbers than they already are.

cmbeal317, sorry for no-showing for last race of the M3 GTR Race Car Challenge. It was an unexpectedly long day for me today and I didn't get home until just a short while ago. My apologies! It was a great season and you did an outstanding job directing it! 👍

no worries zer0, I'll check the numbers to see how it all works out. it will only affect racefan and I, so it'll be easy to make sure we know :)

Memory Lane FTW!! Exo, that's an excellent idea! It's pretty easy to go through the lineup and see combos that bring back lots of fond memories. This would also be a great way for newer SNAILs to experience some of the combos that they never had a chance to enjoy! There are so many ways we would make this work too. For example, we could divide all our our lineups into seasons of ten weeks. Therefore, the first ten weeks of racing would be the first season. And then we could have a Memory Lane Night for Season 1 where we would all vote on which combos from Season 1 that we raced that night! That's just one idea though. I'm sure there are far better ways that we could do this. Anyone want to give it a go? Again, great idea Exo!! :D

You could even make it work for Magic Lap in various ways as well. We could pick a week and then pick one particular track from it to race. Then we all get all pick one of the cars from that week and then race it Magic Lap style! For example, let's say choose the lineup from January 15th and we pick Tokyo R246 Reverse as the track to focus on. All of us would then get in either a Honda Civic Type R (EK) '97, a Toyota 86 GT '12, or a Nissan Skyline GT-R V spec II and then do a few test laps so that Dylan can tell us how long we each need to wait for the magic to happen! 👍

Hey all, unfortunately I will no longer be able to race. Zero and Cheeb are already aware, but I wanted to post it on here and thank everyone for the great racing I've had the pleasure to participate in. I really have enjoyed it! Thanks again and take care everyone
