I agree with the "prize fixing" stance as well, zer0.

Thanks for the support, Handlebar. I don't think anyone in the league would participate in "prize fixing", but I figured it was best to throw it out there just to cover our bases.

zer05ive once again your foresight demonstrates what a great job you do and have done for our league. Thank you for allowing me to just show up each week. I wouldn't have thought of throwing a race to manipulate points. Now I think we should start to think about a Doping policy. Such as more of it.

Mopar, thanks for posting your prize selection so quickly!

moi, since Mopar chose Prize A it is now off the table. Therefore, you can only select Prize B or Prize C.

If you select Prize B, you can replace either the car or the track for the round that received the second most elimination votes on Sunday night. That round was Round 3 - Ferrari 512BB '76 @Cape Ring South

If you select Prize C, you can choose any other these to be gifted to you.

Someone metion on sunday night that he used this car for the Ferrari Challenge in the Seasonals, and I see you haven't race at La Sarthe 2009 yet, so let's take the car to Fance.

I would love to have variable time and weather, but I don't know what's your position about it.

I think that was me, and I used the Ferrari 512BB '76 in the La Festa Cavallino located in the Professional Series in GT Mode. Tunned and you have to get lucky that the Ferrari Enzo isn't in the race, or at the back of the pack.

Apologies to AJK-VAIL, I realized :ill: when I viewed the replay of the 2nd Lotus race at Spa that it was not your car that nudged me off, but another car trying to squeeze between my car and yours!

Thanks for the compliment, but there are many SNAILs who play an important role in making this league and this this thread what it is. Thanks to all of you - you know who you are!

That being said, if any of you can think of ways that you help the league, please let me know what you have in mind because I would love to hear from you. One example I can think of right off the bat is pictures of the podium winners. tcrash15 has been doing this for the D1 podium winners, but I think the D2 and D3 podiums are equally deserving of their names "in lights". Please let me know if any of you would be willing to do this! :D

New format looks really cool. I'm posting in regards to the new DIVERS LIST. Next to my name it says i'm out until further notice due to internet problems. I'm sure it just has'nt been updated but i'm good2go & race ready.:)

Yeah baby 👍

Thanks for letting us know aub, I was hoping that was the case!

Drivers List updated.

No apology necessary my friend! I'm sorry for my response at the time of the incident. I thought I was responding to the driver that hit you then bounced into me. He seems to be having a little trouble with running a clean race.:indiff: Great racing with you, and keep at it!!

Track: Grand Valley Revese
Car: BMW Z4 M Coupe 2008

Someone metion on sunday night that he used this car for the Ferrari Challenge in the Seasonals, and I see you haven't race at La Sarthe 2009 yet, so let's take the car to Fance.

Thanks you Mopar and moi for making your Prize A and Prize B selections! I've updated the lineup, but let me know if you see any errors.

spooble, Prize C is all yours now. Let me know what you want!

I would love to have variable time and weather, but I don't know what's your position about it.

I think that would be fun as well, but it would mean the possibility of each division racing under different conditions, which would skew our data on lap times etc.

If you want to race with us in longer races where weather change and tire strategy plays a key role, I highly recommend our sister league, S.P.E.C. Racing! 👍

Since we were talking about the Ferrari, here is a question... What would you rather drive
1) Doc Browns Delorean or
2) Magnum PI's Ferrari?

I'd drive the delorean, that way I'd never be late for work ever again!

For "Wh-If..." aka what-if... The DeLorean.

Other than that', Magnum, tho the 512 may allow a wife-ly veto. At least based of my control of said vehicle last week...

I was planning on doing a Magic Lap Race next week that would honor Sergio Pininfarina. Unfortunately, I cannot find much about his particular works and most of the ones I can find aren't in GT5.

If I do something like that, would it be better to limit it to just designs by Sergio Pininfarina, designs known to have been influened by him, or just anything by the Pininfarina company? Any help locating a list of cars in any of those categories would be appreciated. At the very least, the Peugeot 406 and Ferrari F40 are definitely Sergio designs, according to wikipedia. I can't help but think of lot of the other Pininfarina designs had plenty of input from him though, but I just need to track them down to come up with an accurate car list.

How about the Lancia Stratos? Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure it was his design also if I'm not mistaken.

LOL!!!!
Prob. not a good car to learn how to use a wheel for the first time on GT5.

Just like to wish a HAPPY 4TH OF JULY to my fellow Snails and their families.

Be safe and don't drink and drive!

I will be hosting the open lobby practice with Sunday nights car/track combos at 10:00pm eastern tonight.
Room number will be posted 10 min prior.

In the picture of Corvette at Carlise, name the Row and Column number of the Corvette that looks like it's door is open, and which side of the car it is :)

+1 Rep point for who ever gets it right first!

Row 8, Column 2. Right side door. Appears to be a white C5 hardtop?
There's also at least two C1s in the picture. One red and one white. Where are they?

Row 8, Column 5 and 8? I dont know my Vette's to well, but i'll take a stab at it!

How about the Lancia Stratos? Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure it was his design also if I'm not mistaken.

The Washington Post obituary today:

"For Ferrari, Mr. Pininfarina oversaw the body design of the 1968 Daytona, known for its long, sloping hood; the 1984 Testarossa and its dramatically vented doors; and the 1987 F40, with its signature rear wing. His last contribution was the 2002 Enzo supercar, inspired by the low-slung bodies of Ferrari’s champion Formula 1 cars.

...His 1965 Dino Berlinetta Speciale, a prototype with swooping front fenders, greatly influenced future generations of Ferraris...."

Also apparently 250 GTO and 250 GTE in the early 1960's.

Wiki said "Pininfarina designed (and partially assembled) the Cadillac Allanté. The car's bodies were assembled and painted in Italy before being flown to Detroit for final vehicle assembly."

Sergio was born in 1926 and joined his father's firm. I knocked off the designs from before 1950. Under Notable Designs for the Pininfarina company, the company is credited with working on (some are only partial credit, but still... nice list!):

There aren't enough Pininfarina cars in the game, honestly. We're missing the Testarossa and the Quatroporte, especially.

But here's my preliminary list of cars Sergio was personally involved with:

Involved in design/was designer:
Ferrari F40
Peugeot 406 coupe

Overseen design:
Ferrari Enzo
Maserati Gran Turismo
Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Duetto
Ferrari 458 Italia

Produced by Pininfarina company, probably had Sergio involved:
Ferrari 599
Ferrari F430
Alfa Romeo GTV

Not in game but should be:
Maserati Quatroporte
Ferrari GTO
Ferrari Testarossa
Cadillac Allante
Ferrari Dino
Alfa Romeo 164
