Sorry as well. But indeed the GT1 series has lost many players so or grid is looking very slim. So anyone that can race GT500 cares will be more that welcome to join us.

The races start at around 9:30 with a 10 minute qualifier regardless of track. And it is one 50 minute race. 4 weeks in a season
That's the Super GT Friday series with heavy damage right? That's what deters me. I've been in clean racing leagues with heavy damage but sometimes something you can't predict happens and your race is over. At least with light damage you are slowed and lose positions but it's not over entirely. I do the Turtle SuperGT Friday league. They have booth GT300 and GT500 on track together.

Looks like Sunday, at the regular race time sinna.... See ya there;)
think so @USERID_77a23 :sly: , what else should I do as there is no official Sunday race lol

Yes, the new Tuesday event is going to be on Project CARS. I'm excited about this because not only will it be our first venture outside of the Gran Turismo franchise, but more importantly it'll be our first event on the PS4. Once GT7 comes out, I think it'll be great for us to have the ability to have events on both game under the same platform (PS4). While it's true that not everyone has a PS4/Project CARS, that all the more reason why I'd like to give this new series as much focus/attention as SNAIL can provide for it, and I just don't think that's possible with another active SNAIL thread featuring a Tuesday event. If you'd like to organize a Tuesday SNAIL event for GT6, you're more than welcome to coordinate it through this thread. Another option is to just start a non-SNAIL thread as long as you understand that it'll operate completely independent from SNAIL.

Where do we go to sign up for the Pcars Series? Did I miss it in an earlier post?

Great idea @Engmatic1! For the video, can I make a suggestion? The text is hard to read against the flag images. What about having the flag so it only uses a portion of the frame, leaving a small section for the text? Or put a ticker sort of bg for the text, like you see on news or sports broadcasts.

Or just change the text color from black to something that will stand out. White might even work, since most of the backgrounds are dark, otherwise things like bright yellow or green often work - though they are rather ugly.

we are still working out some of the details. The topic should be posted this weekend and will announce it here also. We are targeting week 1 on June 9th with some test sessions leading up to it

I have been doing that Lumosity as well.It is very cool.

I've been doing it for about few weeks now and at first I was skeptical, but now I'm sold. That thing is pretty cool and you can argue with better performance backed by statistics.

@redsoxboy80, in order to have access to those graphs, do you need to be a paying member? I haven't done so yet, but I'm considering it, as I'm in a family that has a dementia history and better safe than sorry...

Yeah I think you do need to pay. I've only ever been a paying member so I'm not sure what they offer to non-payers.

But as a paying member you'll get a brain profile that shows your comparison to all other Lumosity members in the 5 categories, two brain tests (similar to IQ tests) to take to see how you improve because of Lumosity, a detailed training history that shows every game you've played, and a few other things. I just payed for the year and it has helped a ton. It definitely made my last semester easier to handle.

I'm a little:banghead: 🤬:grumpy: this morning. Don't know if PCars has anything to do with it or playing with my wheel on Windows, or if this was just inevitable to happen and the timing just happened to be shortly after I started with PCars - BUT, my G27 Wheel is not keeping the top centre position. It drifts to the left. It has never done it on PS3, but since it started to do it on my PC a week ago it now also started to do it on PS3. With the GTA time trial last night, I unplug the the wheel to reset it and by the time I get to the end of the first lap it is off centre by 45 degrees. It will keep doing it - so I can only do one lap and then I have to unplug and reset the wheel again. I gave up a race on PCars the other day when it went beyond 90 degrees because it is getting almost impossible to drive by then. I checked on the internet web machine and it seems to be a common problem - and I don't want to take the whole thing apart into pieces to fix it.

Any ideas on what is causing it and how to fix it?

Seems like same thing that happend to my self it's hard wear related some ppl have open the case and fixed them but me I contacted Logitech and got new one threw there 3yr warranty and revived new one with on 6-7 days

The Wednesday night series only allows a certain number of drivers, which is based on qualifying. Wouldn't that be an opportunity to host a less competitive, or easy going series? I've always avoided Wednesday night RCS because of the intense competition (dominated by the lower division drivers), and unlikelihood that I'd get to actually race.

I understand the Wednesday Night Race Car Series is loved by many, and in no way is this an attempt to discredit all the hard work that Grim puts into it. Please don't take this as any kind of negative criticism towards the Wednesday night series!
An easy going and less formal series would be ideal to organize through this thread. We've had a bunch of these types of events over the years and many have been very popular. But as far as a dedicated SNAIL thread is concerned, I'd rather reserve those for our feature events so that they can get the maximum exposure that we're able to provide for them. 👍

NOTE: The post linked above is not up-to-date. The Tuesday series will be replaced soon and the Saturday series is no longer active. If anyone would like to direct a Saturday night series for SNAIL (it's the only night of the week where we don't have an event scheduled), please post your ideas. Otherwise, I've been thinking about reviving SNAIL [Mystic] Racing (although it won't require a dedicated thread and is a good example of an easy going series that was coordinated through this thread).

Last night we tested all of these. Incredibly the most fun and closest was the Alpine; however it does top out at 3 or 4 parts of the track at 122mph. However, all the other twisties are super fun.

We did a 5 minute quali in one race and it works as expected. You can qualify based on sectors; depending on the car you should get past the 3rd sector on a 6 min. qualifier.

  1. Alpine - Best suited for all divisions.
  2. Aston V12 Vantage - Superb, but easy to drive off due to the weight.
  3. Elise 111R Race Car - This one bites. Very smooth steering is needed.
  4. FTO Super Car - Easy to drive suited for all Divisions.
  5. Nissan Z - Lots of fun but car control would require a lot of practice.
Thanks to @TomMang_68, @Tangled_Up, @IceManFan_7, @singlepaddy and I'm drawing a blank on the other
If you're around tonight, and others are interested, I'd like to test the LFA nurburgring package as well as the 430 scoured.

Did you have to send them the wheel first? I just received a replacement from them, and I think it may operate slightly off center....

If anybody is interested in joining me and @MajorBlixem this weekend for an endurance race.

Edit: Let's try this one (older version without performance numbers)

The room host will be me or Major and we'll call it GT-R Nismo Endurance Special or something like that. Will open the room at around 9:00 pm eastern.

Regulations are the same as SNAIL, except for the ones specifically stated in the spoiler.

Erick Speaking, i'm completely down for this event. Please count me in =)

Yes I had to send in broken one b4 I got new one and yeah it's hit or miss on the off center try and get into a car with high down force and that will give you a true reading if it's off center use like gt500 car

Has anybody here ever owned or worked on a Chrysler conquest? I'm about to look at one friday. It's an 87 with an 89 ECU 90,000 miles $2,500.

Nope just light damage with fast fuel and tire wear. We also tune our vehicles as well

Not a bad price for 90k miles... but probably one of the least reliable Mitsubishi cars you could get (and that's REALLY saying something). Not very easy to work on either. If you really like the car the work is worth it (but only if you REALLY like it).

They look really cool though. And you could forever pretend its an XRT (from LiveForSpeed).

A little off topic: Has anyone heard any news on the new Need For Speed game? And if so, speculations? Wishes?

I hope it's Underground 3 with the feeling of Underground games and the looks of the newer games.

Let's get opinions and civilized conversations. :)
