…although we always race from lowest PP to highest PP, so technically those examples would be reversed.

…technically…

Specifically, though, have these three cars ready:

Honda S2000 '06
Maserati Granturismo S '08
Ferrari 458 Italia '09

MAGIC LAP WILL BE HELD TOMORROW NIGHT (FRIDAY) AT 10PM EDT with the following theme:

Theme: Something Completely Different - I have had a few requests to have a night with an open theme, where every car was allowed. I agree that this would be nice, but at the same time, I worried that we would lose one of the points that makes this so fun: The idea that you can race any car, even something you're not used to, and still be competitive. I like that this type of racing can put you out of your comfort zone, and I wanted to keep it that way.

Reminder everyone have your lap times ready before you enter the room tonight.

Same as last time, Deep Forest reverse. I probably could have changed it but it would cause too much confusion to do so now.

I kind of like that track though so it's not such a problem.

I'd like to do the Magic Lap races tonight. I sent a friend request to division 3 last night. Can someone add me? Thanks

👍

zer05ive will be logging on tonight to make sure the psn friend requests have been taken care of.

I just accepted your FR. Thanks for taking the initiative to send it! 👍

SNAILs, as always, please let me know if you need access to the D3 lounge. You can't participate in tonight's Magic Lap racing or Monday's Cat & Mouse without D3 on your friends list!

I'm in Michigan this weekend through Monday but am hoping to make it home in time for C/M. Was it not held last week btw... I looked for shout an hour and never saw more than 2 people on the lounge. I will be able to run the next two sundays after this weekend. I know I've been on the driver list but haven't shown up. I simply cannot commit regularly again YET but the time is nearing.

where ya at Diabolic? We should get some beers!

I'm back. I didn't bother to catch up in the thread but I'm going to be able to race this Sunday. I had said before I was out, but the combos are so that I can run without any practice.

Excellent 👍

I'm all the way at the very west end of m59 from you. is the KOA on lake st. clair? One of my very first memorable moments in drive was getting lost, ending up in port huron, then trying to find my way back home. Lots of rain and sketchy driving in my old escort pony. Good times! Well, enjoy your stay, don't step on any needles (your up river, so you should be good) and dont get sunburned.

S.N.A.I.L. Drivers List Update Complete

After a full week of looking at data, lap times, race results and payola, S.N.A.I.L. has evolved into it's final Division structure. Who'd have thought on November 13th, 2011 that we would be racing in 5 Divisions with 68 Drivers? And we're still growing 👍

Some drivers have moved up a Division Number, some have moved down and some have stayed the same. The bottom line is you were placed in a Division based on your performance over the last month with the sole intent of giving you the best racing possible.

Drivers that moved up will find all kinds of new challenges. If you were moved down, the drivers you face will be of equal skill and test your racecraft. If you stayed in the same division, you will have some new drivers to contend with, they will test you.

zer05ive, myself and the whole S.N.A.I.L. Racing Group, sincerely hope you enjoy racing as a S.N.A.I.L.

Cheers and good racing 👍

kcheeb

P.S. Drivers in the New Drivers section of the Drivers List, can still reserve a spot on the grid tomorrow by completing the Time Trial and sending me your time 👍

Whew. Division 3. No more racing to not get passed.

Time to attack for the lead

S.N.A.I.L.s I'm away from a computer for the next 24 hours. I have the mobile app, so I'll do my best to stay in touch if there are questions or concerns :)

Hello. I have been contacted in game, to check out S.N.A.I.L. SpecRacing. Well, here I am... :dopey: I would like t:nervous: try out and be a part of your online racing community. Thank you.

Hey Spaz. kcheeb will respond to you at some point officially, but since he's out for the moment, that might not happen for a bit. In the meantime, you might want to take a look at one of his previous "welcome" posts (such as this one here) and get started with the time trial and with breaking in cars for tomorrow.

Thanks dr. 👍

Spaz, if you can get the time trial in we'll get you racing tomorrow :)

New Guy Off the Wall question ...... I've read the recommended procedure about doing engine break-in and then doing an oil change. Since I may not have enough time (starting this afternoon) to do much break-in of any kind, are there any problems with me just doing the oil change to a new car ? Also, does changing wheels disqualify a car from entry ?

Not really, ANFD. The only issue is that you'll be down a few PP and bhp to those who have broken the cars in which may affect your ability to draft past people.

You will be down on power compared to the rest of the field and it does make a difference. With everyone being close to equal in ability, the 7 or 8 hp you get from break in is a huge difference.

If you mean changing the rims/wheel style or color, no problems at all, it is encouraged!

As for the tire compound (Sport Soft, etc), then that must stay the same, not higher or lower, for all competitors as I understand it.

Just got home from SCarolina, but I may be on later today.

SNAILs,
With all of the drivers changing divisions due to our new (and permanent) five division format, I had to make significant changes to the League Responsibilities post.

If you see your name listed, please let me know if I have you down incorrectly. If you don't see your name, please let me know if you would like to lend a hand! We can always use more stewards, photographers, and statisticians. And if you have a fast internet connection, we can use more hosts as well!

What makes this league successful is the number of our members who value what S.N.A.I.L. represents and are willing to contribute to the cause. Please let us know if you'd like to help out too!
:)
