Please tell me how to do that! Thanks!

Go to 'my drivers' and click the option on the bottom (next to the change outfit) that says to share them/put them online. A blue circle should then activate and anyone on your friends list can throw them in some b-spec races for you (however, any you do this with you won't be able to use in 'normal' races unless you switch that mode off) :)

First make sure you have created as many Bobs as you can- max is 6.

Making Your Driver Public
Set your "My Driver" to "Share with Friends" to enable that driver to compete with the "My Driver" of your friends on PlayStation®Network (PSN) in a Remote Race.

Just wanted to say that I was pretty quick to anger on Sunday because of other stuff going on, but whatever, not trying to make excuses for ****ty behavior. Never tried to imply this is a dirty league or anything, I fully commit to good racecraft since that's what makes racing fun, however everybody makes mistakes during a race, including myself, and that's no reason to get on anyone's ass about it. Therefore I apologize for any upset minds and hope acting like a child one time doesn't stain my reputation.

hi guys sorry i did'nt race sunday i had to cover someone at work and couldn't get to a pc :/ i won't be racing this sunday either as i'm on holiday so will be back racing on the 26th.

I tested the new combos & ran 1.44 with the Honda so I'm thinking 7 laps @ Seca.

I ran 1.12s in the Ford GT so 9 laps @ Rome Reverse.

Just a warning to everyone going in to GT Auto to paint your new Ford GT...

Depending on your colour choice the racing stripes will appear no matter what!!! I wasted a few good paint chips figuring this out the hard way.

1st GT - Thought colour and stripes didn't matter since my paint would cover it all, wrong, the stripes stayed.

2nd GT - Tried the silver stripes since I didn't like the bright white, but it looked the same to me.

3rd GT - Tried buying a solid red without racing stripes, after paint the white stripes showed up automatically :ouch:

Maybe you can shed some light on my confusion :)

I have bought 3 different Ford Gts and can't seem to find the key to getting one that will end up with the white racing stripe. All three I tried end up with the black stripe after painting (even purchasing one with a white stripe) :nervous: What's the secret ? Guess I'll try the solid red ..... I did try a solid color although I can't remember what is was now and the stripe came out black.

Just tried a solid red and again the stripes came out black ... bought my 4th GT and wasted 3 paint chips !

If anyone needs a Ford GT I've got three to spare :scared:

It chooses the stripe color based only on whatever color you paint it. Unfortunately, you will always get the same stripes unless you try painting it a different color.

I need to claim a car color/wheel color combo, right? I was trying to find the list with everyones schemes but couldn't. I remember black car/white wheels were free so Ill go w/ that. can't wait to race

Drats ! I should have been more patient :dopey: Thanks for the info dylansan :)

I think I might have ended up with a colorshifting stripe. I painted mine the GT polarized 001 which is the red/chrome shifting color. From some angles I have a white stripe and from others I have a silver stripe. I'm pretty sure the stripe changes colors based on weather or not it's red or chrome underneath.

Added. You don't *need* to claim a colour. It's just a reference tool that some of us use to gauge who is around us without having to look at the running order.

Until you run the car 200 miles & change the oil you will not be at max hp. In spec racing where everyone has the same equipment it is crucial to have your cars "broke in". We're talking 20 hp range difference. Most of us use B-spec Endurance 200 miles @ Laguna Seca. After the race change the oil or rebuild your motor/chassis & you're set.

Since you've told me that, I've gone back through all my high mileage cars and brought their hp up by 17-30 lol

Magic Lap this Friday!

I've finally updated the thread so all the information there should be accurate.

Here's the relevant information from the thread. I will post another reminder on Friday around noon. Hopefully we have more attendance than last time, as we only had three drivers!

The Procedure:
  • Drivers must take time before the racing to test each car they plan to run, in the open lobby, to get an approximation of their lap time. Drivers should write these down as I will not be able to keep track of more than one time per person. Ensure the room you test in matches the regulations below, as a difference in tire wear or grip reduction could make a big difference.
  • Once you join the room, wait for my instructions. I am experimenting with different ways to run the room, including requiring cars to get in order during free run so cars start in the correct grid spots, and having different portions of the night disallow certain cars. For example, at some point I may say "only cars above 400PP now." Anything required of drivers will be spelled out before the race, to allow for preparation.
  • Once you know the instructions, get in one of your cars and tell me your estimate of your lap time. I will use everyone's time to calculate a delay for each person, which is the amount of time they need to wait before starting to drive. Start when the race clock matches your given delay. Keep your foot on the brake while waiting, as you may tend to roll if you do not.
  • Any time you want to switch cars, you may, but be sure to give me your time when you do so, and that it is within whatever PP limits I may have specified. I may give suggestions about switching to avoid two drivers having cars with very similar times, but I will always try to give you a chance to drive the cars you want eventually.
  • Also keep in mind that if your switch changes the lap time of the slowest car on the grid, everyone's time will have to be recalculated. It's not so much the calculation that takes time, but giving everyone that information. So bear that in mind. This is part of the reason we usually run the same race two or three times before switching cars.
Regulations and Settings:
The default regulations are as follows (based loosely on S.N.A.I.L. regulations):
Start Type:
Grid Start
Grid Order: Slowest First
Boost: Off
Penalty: Weak
Visible Damage: Off
Mechanical Damage: Light
Slipstream Strength: Weak
Tire Wear/Fuel Consumption
: Off
Grip Reduction: Real

Tires are determined by the car's PP:

Production/Street Cars
below 450 PP -> Sports Hards
450-499 PP ---> Sports Mediums
500 PP & up --> Sports Softs

Race/Tuner Cars
below 600 PP -> Racing Hards
600 PP & up --> Racing Mediums

These are just recommendations, and you may use other tires if you prefer. I suggest either the S.N.A.I.L. tires, or stock tires, depending on your preference. However, I feel the aim of this series is to compare real life cars, and get to know cars you haven't driven. Neither can really be accomplished if you tune all your cars beyond recognition. You are free to tune if you wish, if there's a car that's special and you really enjoy driving it, but nothing confuses me more than slapping RS tires and a turbo on any random car, especially when having a higher performance car won't give you a better chance of winning!

Vehicle Tuning: Allowed (But not recommended)
Driving Aids: Only ABS allowed

Upcoming Races:
Races will be held in the Division 3 S.N.A.I.L. lounge. Ask about joining there to gain access to that room.

Races will be held on Fridays, at 10PM EDT. This is subject to change if necessary.
The next set of races will be Friday, August 17th, at 10PM EDT.

Theme: 'Murica! - We've raced Corvettes before, but now's your chance to drive anything you want from the Greatest Country on Earth™, The USA! Muscle cars are of course an option, but you can drive anything you want! Be creative!

Expect to see me in a Plymouth Superbird, along with some other, less popular American cars. You can't get the full effect if you only show one side of American automotive history!
Track: Road Course - Indy
Car Restriction: Country of Origin: USA (Use your personal judgement on cars that are technically from an American brand, but aren't really American. Acura and Lexus, for example, and the Ford Ka)

Feedback:
Please, absolutely give any suggestions or feedback, or ask any questions you need to if anything is unclear. This is a difficult thing to coordinate and I'm just hoping the first race goes smoothly (and that there's actually interest). If you have any ideas at all about how to improve this, post them, and I'll be sure to discuss them to determine the best course of action.

Also feel free to suggest possible themes, as I am always open to interesting ideas.

Seth are you going to be starting a practice Room Tonight ?

I'm pretty sure that tcrash will be hosting a practice room tonight and he will post the room number here.

I want to make practice tonight, but it ain't happening.

Had to paint for too many hours outside today, and my bad back is protesting rather stridently.

Good luck. Once the house stuff finishes tomorrow (garage door, deck, washing machine, gutters, and someone I can't recall at 9-9:30...), I will get more runs in.

I quite like the FF, and the GT was challenging. I plan to avoid mayhem, and attempt to not cause much.

Good evening racers! The practice room is now open for your practicing pleasure.

Please keep your hands and feet in your cars at all times and no throwing garbage out of the windows!

I'm on the west coast what time will practice start?

As I am also on the west Coast I was wondering if we could get a count of people who would be up for some late practice say starting at 9 or 10 PST. Anyone interested?

First room is still full, so chances are good I would be up for another whack at some practice later tonight.
