Hi, my psn is II-NOVA-II. (capital i's). I recieved a message to join via the psn and am interested in joining. I'm not certain I can make all the Sunday events, but should be able to make most of them. Please consider me for this league. Thanks in advance.

Hey llNovall,

Thanks for your interest 👍 And welcome to S.N.A.I.L.

We run a clean league by enforcing the S.N.A.I.L. OLR and we expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both.

Follow These Steps:
1. I add you to the drivers list as a New S.N.A.I.L. (Done)
2. You run the Time Trial.
3. You Private Message my GTPlanet account with your time from the time trial (no Sunday racing until this is completed).
4. I assign you to the appropriate Division, to give you the best racing possible.
5. A PSN friend request will be sent from the appropriate SNAIL_Division1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 account. That is where you race on Sunday night.
6. You drive fast and clean on Sunday :)

The original post has a lot of information regarding the league, commit it to memory ;)

The second post has the current race lineup and is updated weekly.

If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, post your choices in this thread.
To avoid duplication, the currently claimed combinations can be found here.

During the week we run a number of different events feel free to jump in and partake!

Welcome aboard and enjoy :)

Thank you for taking the time to make sure you pick a unique color combo. I wish everyone did the same because drivers runing similar colors in the same division ruins the purpose of picking colors.

With that in mind should the priority be unique for the division. I know that this is all getting more complicated with 5 divisions and around 100 people but should we try make sure there is no clash within our division with the understanding that being promoted/relegated may mean you need to tweak your colors. Currently both Tex and I run white and I am realizing I should probably change my color as it would make it easier for people to tell who is who. I mean other than in practice what does it matter if someone in D1 has the same color combo/number as someone in D5?

Running the same colors as someone in a different division makes no difference at all. We only care about drivers running the same colors as someone in their own division.

Of course, with promotion and relegation, you never know when two drivers with the same color might end up in the same division. That's why it's a good idea to pick a color combo that is truly one of a kind if possible. However, it's understandable if that's not always possible given the number of members in the league and the limited number of color combinations.

However, if two drivers with the same or very similar color combo do end up in the same division, the driver who's raced in more Sunday nights would get to keep their color combo based on seniority. If you want to see where you stack up based on seniority, simply click here. Increasing your seniority is simple - just be consistent about racing on Sunday nights.

Also, everyone needs to remember that while picking a unique wheel color can make any color combo unique, wheel colors can't be seen in the rearview mirror. Therefore if you a picking a color and you see that three other people in your division have silver cars with varying wheel colors, please use common sense and don't pick a silver car with a just a different wheel color.

There are a lot of colors available in the Premium dealership. That's where I get mine. Just buy the car you need for the color and you get the chip. Sell it back for some of the cash and you're good. As long as you're not picking a super rare color on a very expensive car the cost probably won't be an issue.

If you need help getting more of a rare color or standard car color, let JLBowler know. He's been willing to help in the past.

^Apmaddock probably has the most recognizable color combo in the league. If he can obtain his unique colors using that simple method, there's really no excuse for anyone not to be able to do the same.

I personally get my paint chips by duping them on an alternate account and sending them to my main account whenever I run out, but I can understand how that may not be ideal for some. However way you do it, the bottom line is that painting all of your league cars the same color really isn't that difficult. 👍

I am willing to help anyone out with paint that needs it. Send a FR to LR-PR-JLBowler with the paint color you are looking for. Be specific. I don't want a message that says red. That will get ignored.

If you are already friends with this account and you need more paint, just drop a message and I'll take care of it.

Have you seen a good explanation as to how GT5 calibrates the brake?

Try this out. Start up GT5 and get on a track without touching the pedals. Once on track, look at the brake and accelerator indicators and press down only part way on the pedals. How far did the red line go up? It went up to 100%. That is the range GT5 now sees as being your pedal travel to achieve 100% braking . Then press the pedal all the way down - you now have full range calibrated and pressing the pedal part way will only show partial braking in the indicator.

From what I can see there is very little deadzone programmed in GT5 and that is the reason you don't want too light of a brake spring as it's very easy to accidentally hit 60-80% braking or more. That is the reason upgraded springs helps as much as it does if you are like me and have a hard time with over braking. I would imagine the bungee cord trick would provide much improved brake pressure and progression for DFGT users.

Maybe it's because I've never tried another set of pedals, but I've been very happy with the DFGT pedals since I got them, even going in expecting them to fell really toy-like. I don't know if they've been improved or I'm just less sensitive to such things than some people, but it's always worked great in stock form for me.

Many elite fast guys use the dfgt, often with the bungee cord. I however need as much help as I can get.

I used a df pro for a short time prior to getting the G27 and I can tell you there is a huge difference wirh those 2.

I'm gonna try the bungee tonight and see if that's better. I think the reason I'm having trouble with it is I'm now used to my t500 which is quite different. I'm also going to try cutting the rubber ball down some and see it that gives me the stiffness I need with enough travel to make modulation more accurate. I think the way I have it now with such short travel doesn't work well with the sensor in the pedal so it's inconsistent.

From the testing I did with the nixim mod I can assure you reduced pedal travel is a bad thing. Try the bungee cord without the ball.

Good to know. I was thinking it might be part of the problem because of the sensor most likely being cheap and not set up for the short travel.

For the SNAILs that have been around for a while, I told everyone a while back what I would do if I got to choose the car and track. I will not go back on my word so my selection for car and track combo is:

Corvette Z06 C5 ('04) @ Motegi Superspeedway

Let the complaining begin but before you complain about oval racing requiring no skill, you must explain why not one single driver was able to pass me (and make it stick for more than 100 ft.) when we ran at Indy Superspeedway.

SOAB!!!!! I really hope this makes it a week longer. I've been patiently waiting for this combo. And its not quite worth missing my honeymoon in the Caribbean for. Damn, one week to soon.

for your sake, I will not vote for this combo, as much as I'm not an oval fan. (not complaining, personal preference, it takes a lot of skill to be great within a slipstream/draft)

Joby you gonna be on later? I'm gonna be on around 12 for an hour or so, got the vette breaking in as we speak. Gotta finish up some homework and eat a late dinner first heh

I might be but not 100% sure.

:grumpy: *grumble*

There's always one (or more).

I'm happy. I missed the only other time I've been around for Snails on an oval.

I'm going to take that to mean that you preferred the GTEYE spring? I feel like my G25 pedals are a bit light when I drive with shoes on, but I've been driving barefoot lately, so it's been ok. That's not going to last much longer the colder it gets, so back to shoes and light pedals. I like the gas and brake upgrade option from nixim. It seems like you'd want to uprate both.

Thanks for the support fellas.

BTW. I would like to chime in on the not so debated color scheme debate. I feel that while perhaps making a color choice mandatory may not happen here, I think it has great benefit and would not be opposed to it. I would also like to reaffirm my color choice as matte dark blue and bronze. what bronze will be exactly will be revealed once I have found one and gotten a name from it. hmmm, perhaps gold chrome....

You can read my humble GTEYE vs Nixim Mod reviews, but I'll send you a PM with more details.

Speaking of colours I noticed a lot of blue in D1 but no white on the list for us, so I think it's safe to change my colours to Pure White/Black. (original, I know)

Sounds familiar...

...Classy nonetheless. Yours will be matte though.

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You're ****ing awesome. Good choice

Maybe people should start a league called GT5 Formula 1(not using F1 cars) for all the people with steering wheels coming up with these ideas to make their steering wheels and pedals easier to use
