Hello to all my old Snail friends and hello to all the new members….it’s been a minute, Lol!
Well the last year and a half, to two years has been interesting to say the least. It started with the diagnosis I was hoping I would never have to hear, but always feared! After 2 surgeries and multiple follow up procedures, things are looking a lot more optimistic. Anyway Sweet Tee(AKA the wife) has been taking great care of me and we’ve been wanting to make a come back for a while now and providing things haven’t changed after my next scope on Nov 9th, we plan to do just that!
Just wanted to check in and give a heads up that you might start seeing us in the practice lobbies soon.🤟
I must have missed this earlier this week. Glad to hear! Best of outcomes come Nov. 9, definitely look forward to seeing you back on track

I have read the first post and would like to join.
I was in a lobby and told to look up SNAIL on GTP because they thought I was fast. I don't think I'm all that fast but would love to join for clean and comptetive racing.

I have read the first post and would like to join. Saw a lobby in GT7 and looked it up. Exactly the league time/type I was looking for all day today!
@Louis3986

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!

Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add zer05ive, JLBowler, nmcp1, Rednose58, MajorBlixem, SAMHAIN85, llNovall & Akzl298
as participants.

The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

Great racing D1 tonight, glad my ps4 did not overheat so I could race all 6 races,
Side note I understand we changed tire specs because cars were hard too drive with GT7, well their easier too drive now with updates, can we have a friendly conversation about little adjustment,
Felt weird 4C with 240hp on RH @JLBowler
yea in D2 we also discussed possibility of the 4c on SS tires instead.. def a car which requires some slippery tires for corners

It was a fun night, and I made almost no mistakes. It was a very consistant couple of races. Very pleased with my results. Also, its nice to see bigger grids. We were 9 in D1, very cool. Honorable mention to @IceWarden for your two wins, well done !

And yes @Kgffy @FCB-Rizla-TML Seems like everything we race since the last couple of weeks is on RH tires. 300 hp street cars like the 02 RX7 Spirit R shouldnt be on RH. SH/SM would be more in line for this type of car because at this point everything just feel like a GR4 or GR3 car. I just want to start a discussion here, no hard feelings.

First of all, we will not adjust the tire regulations on a car by car basis. With that being said, develop and propose an alternative to what we have now and we will be happy to take a look at it.

Either way, there is going to be a lot of racing tyres even with an adjustment. I don't see sports tyres making it onto powerful cars, and sub-300hp cars don't hang around long here.

First off, I'm just a spectator and I'm happy to race cars on whatever tires allowed. But, I am curious about how tires are determined in Snail. It would seem it's not on a car by car basis, so is it a formula of some kind that you plug in parameters and it spits out a tire? And if it's the latter how would someone (someone like my brother) develop an alternative?

Division 1
  1. GTP_Worstdriver --- voted to eliminate Round 2 - 89 (95.84 for Prize A)
  2. Nic-KL ------------ voted to eliminate Round 3 - 83 (89.38 for Prize C)
  3. Kgffty ------------ voted to eliminate Round 2
  4. Timlour ----------- voted to eliminate Round 2
  5. Showery_thornO ---- voted to eliminate Round 1
  6. Ice_Warden -------- voted to eliminate Round 2
  7. Phlano_099 -------- voted to eliminate Round 3
  8. EvoSpec10 --------- did not submit a vote
  9. OMG_Raw ----------- did not submit a vote
Division 2
  1. RacingChamp30 ----- voted to eliminate Round 3 - 93 (85.85 for Prize B)
  2. Canoworms1 -------- voted to eliminate Round 2
  3. RizlaTML ---------- voted to eliminate Round 3
  4. Track_King47 ------ voted to eliminate Round 3
  5. Flyingdisc315 ----- voted to eliminate Round 1
  6. Skills_19657 ------ voted to eliminate Round 1
  7. cesarr64 ---------- did not submit a vote
The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Gr.4 (RH) at Suzuka Circuit Full Course - S01 Afternoon (6 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @Worst_Driver wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - Nissan Silvia spec-R Aero (S15) Touring Car (RH) at Sardegna - Road Track Layout B - S01 Evening (10 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @racingchamp30 gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @Nicktune so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and/or tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select must not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in a draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to choose the Integra Type R as your car selection, post "Honda Integra Type R (DC2) '98". If you want to select Monza for your track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". Being specific helps us to update the lineup accurately and also helps avoid any confusion among the drivers. Also, please be sure to list the HP and Weight (LBS) of any car you select. For track selections, include the time of day (e.g: 09:00 Clear) or else it will be left to default.

Car Selection Guidelines

It's a simple chart with a range of PP, at stock, that corresponds to a tire compound. For the most part, there has always been a small group in D1 that thinks everything is too grippy. Just like there is a small group of sim racers that think harder automatically equals more realistic.

hello there, I'm the new guy (x_tecra_x), anxiously awaiting first race this weekend. I sent everyone on the driver's list and invite to maybe run with outside of SNAIL. I can't get enough of GT7. I've been a member of GTP for around 20 years and haven't had a PS4 so I missed out on GT Sport but have every other version on disc, even some of the harder to find Japanese titles of Gran Turismo for the PS2, and obviously the two anniversary editions.

Seriously considering taking it up a notch with a static rig and wheel but don't want to piss off my old lady if you know what I mean. Curious how many of you guys run a rig and how happy you are with cross-compatibility with PC racing sims. I know PS5 has all the motion (nor do I want motion) related API locked up but wheels/pedals you might share that have had a good experience with.

Lastly, have you all thought of running both division 1 and division 2 together with two different classes, like Gr1 and Gr4 on the same track for a special Enduro type event? I think that would be cool to bring the whole crew together for a race like that.

Prize A selection: Nissan Silvia K’s Dia Selection (S13) ‘90 (SH Tires) @ Willow Springs International Raceway Streets of Willow Springs Morning 06:30 fine Weather.

Fun car to drive on this tight and twisty track. Wanted to go to Tsukuba but that was the track I picked last time I won Prize A.
