I feel the exact same way! Awesome for time trials but the LAST term you will ever hear me use to refer to the Nurb is "race track." It's a course.

The Nordshleife won't be picked for SNAIL. It's entirely unfeasible.

I completely disagree with your assessment of the place as a race track, though, and decades of Formula 1 drivers as well as current 24 Hours of Nürburgring drivers would, I think, agree with me.

There's definitely more than one passing opportunity there, it's just that the last one is easily the most important (isn't that basically always true? hehe)

There's a lot of whiny talk today of people sitting out races when things aren't to their liking. That's fine with me. Fewer drivers mean more points for me.

There may be about 2 other SAFE passing opportunities on that COURSE and I'll have to agree to disagree because I don't care who raced what there and for how long, it's still just a course to me. Always will be. Just my opinion.

I did make a comment earlier but it wasn't about sitting out races, I'll simply leave. The generated tracks are usually horrible and give the creator an advantage in my opinion. Im just not a fan. I'm sure things will go on and me leaving wouldn't be the end of the world as it shouldn't.

Fewer drivers could equal more points and less fun.

I can't imagine Vettel (or any professional racer) saying "I am not going to race this week because I don't like the track". Well maybe Kimi but he is not normal.

I guess I don't understand how being the creator of the track is a benefit to the creator more than anyone else. I'll bet most of you can beat me on a course that I create, and even if I pick the cars. I'd be happy to try to come up with a course/car that I can beat some of you on, but c'mon... the only way that'd work is if I practice the car and course like a madman.

The track "generator" is by no means able to create, or tailor what we want in any track.

When I generate new tracks, it is usually to create a really twisty course to practice cornering, either alternating banked and non-banked corners, or something like that. If I make tracks for my son and I to race on, we'd been making them wider, less sharp turns, but turning up the technical difficulty and not necessarily the banking. Those combos are real hit/miss for me. Either they are fun, or there are huge, hidden corner/almost jumps that would totally stink for Sunday Night.

The balance on what's fun for most is not easy, but I love it when it does work. It's not impossible, just not simple. To each, their own.

Hey Gents, I am posting on my Iphone at work so I will keep this short and sweet. I am hoping to do some races with you guys from time to time and would like to join your group as a member of SNAIL...
-Nick

Uh oh, the twins are in full force now! :nervous: Good to see you want to join Nick. D1 is almost becoming the GT Academy practice room we had going on haha.

Does anyone have any thoughts about the new physics? It sounds like the online physics are now the same as offline. Since I have very little offline experience since joining S.N.A.I.L. I do not have much reference. Has any one noticed an impact to the way the cars handle online?

I can be on but for an hour of tonight's practice im in EST and have to wake up early for work. Im wondering if any one is doing any pre-practice if so add me psn: sirhankysur

In general, just go practice in D1 and you'll probably have a few mates join you shortly - post here that you are practicing in D1 for X time, and it's even more likely... :)

Crap. I only have D5 as a friend.

Generated tracks really are hit and miss. I've made a couple that I liked and saved a few that I raced in the VCRC that were a real treat. Of course, the cars that we race in that club made those tracks as much fun as they were, I suppose. They probably wouldn't fit anything with more than 100 horsepower. ;)

I remember racing the Nissan Cube on the three ovals a while ago....that was intense since bumpdrafting the entire lap was the only way to pull away from/catch up to the other cars

It is just a time issue with the ring. Kinda hard to do qualifying in 10 minutes. Also the race would only be one lap:( But I do love the Nurb:)

Not exactly.. The qual still works by the track segments... At least in the open lobbys!

You basically qual in the first third of the track. I can test it next time i do a Nurb recycler.

The practice rooms are officially open! If you're assigned to Division 1 or Division 2 (or you placed in the top 5 of Division 3 this past Sunday) please join the BLUE ROOM:

1472-6118-3658-4756-5010

Everyone else, please join the RED ROOM:

Some fun choices in the OCD...

Great run for first 2 races, Wed. Guys.

G'Night, Gracie.

I am having issues with the wifey also, Sir.... Oh, uh.... Good luck! You will probably solve yours first....

It says I can't rejoin the room at the moment and to wait a bit....with any luck, I'll be there for the final combo, lol

The Elise is not as awesome to drive after the update...oversteer when braking/understeer when accelerating. You can't power oversteer as nicely and you can't step on the gas as early. 👎

I presume that you only bought the Mazda at the last minute, zer0? That's the only reason I can come up with for you driving it in red and not your usual white....

Hey guys joined your room to have a play as I was bored lol. Annoyingly you all left when I joined.. (Everybody hates me :()

But anyway I was interested in maybe having a few races here. I did a practice race with Iluv2coach and had a nice battle with him we did 2:01s all race with my last charge on him a 2:00.7 :).

Oh here comes trouble :P

Kidding since you run rings around me on the track and helped me out when I first started GT5. Pretty much all of the S.N.A.I.L. stuff starts at 3am UK time so if that suits your schedule then excellent 👍

As I said in the lobby my shifts are 4pm-12pm GMT so yeah it does .

It's currently 5:50am here for referance ;).
