Is this car considered a race car w/ race hard tires , tuner car with sport soft or street car with sport med?
I just ran 20 laps with this car on sports hards and it felt fine, no need for racing tires in my opinion.
Do we have to break in standards or are they ready to run with an oil change?
Since apparently it can be used on the street as well as the track, I'd opt for sports tires. Call it one of those, "Race the car then drive it home" throwbacks.

I like sports tires for this. I have another question, What if someone picks a car under 450? Like a 380 pp, does it get Sports Hard or comfort tires? Thanks for the OCD break in info.
Good question! Our Tuner Car List only lists premium cars so the Amuse S2000 R1 '04 obviously isn't on it. Here's an excerpt from in-game description of the car:
The R1 has been outfitted with "S" tires and an original Bilstein suspension kit which makes the suspension soft enough that the car's balance is not thrown off when the high-performance rubber is replaced with normal street tires.
Clear as mud.
With that in mind, this suggestion now has a lot more relevance to me. Having a technical director to make quick decisions on these matters would be nice in the event that tuner cars are selected from the OCD (like what just happened).
On the other hand, we could easily just go through all of the standard tuner cars in the game and add them to our Tuner Car List.
dabneyd, is this something you'd be willing to do? Just like last time, you add them to the list and we can debate it from there. Obviously, adding the Amuse S2000 R1 '04 has priority right now.
Zero is right. All OCD cars are already broke in. Check the oil, and that's all that needs to be done. This is for OCD cars only though. Cars in the UCD with under 200 miles will need to be broke in. But we don't use those on Sunday nights anyway.
Also to chime in on zeros post. My opinion is that unless a "tuner" is stated specially as being a race car (like one of those s2000's ) then I say run sports at the appropriate PP number. Tuner cars are normally built to run on the street anyway.
Wow, I got Price C?! What is that?

iroquoisi see that i ended up winning 2nd prize so i choose to replace the Mazda Atenza with the Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX STI '10
I agree that racing tires aren't needed, but this is more about trying to define what kind of tires the car was "intended" to be on. When I initially read the description of the car, I assumed that the "S" tires referred to the speed rating, but that can't be right because S-rated tires aren't even good enough to put on sports cars (maximum speed of only 112mph).
Also, the wording "when the high-performance rubber is replaced with normal street tires" gave me pause. Are GT5's "Sports Tires" considered high performance? Are Comfort Tires considered normal street tires? If so, then it's a no-brainer that this car should be on Sports Tires. However, a devil's advocate would say that Sports Tires are just performance tires (not "high" performance) and that that they could easily be considered "normal street tires" since they are typical tires that come standard on many production cars. Both of those arguments would interpret that "high performance" tires are actually GT5's racing tires and that "normal street tires" are actually GT5's sports tires (but I disagree with both of these hypothetical arguments).
FWIW, if we decide that this car is on Sports Tires, they'd be Sports Mediums (not the Sports Hards that come stock with the car).
Just a quick thought, since theres no real schedule to when the OCD gets updated (and I think it'll be soon, because its been those cars for two weeks), you might want to get the car as soon as possible
Shiny new ride!Wow, I got Price C?! What is that?

As far as I know it gets updated on Wednesdays.... and I did not get this one when I was basically buying every other car on the OCD. ... so many other cars to choose from and had to pick an S2000....
Can someone grab one for me before it gets updated / dupe it, etc. Not sure I will be able to make it for tonight's practice session.
I'm constantly at a loss as to why FF's consistently get voted off quickly, yet they produce some of the closest races.
I bought one and can dupe it for you on Friday. I'm sure someone else can before that though.
