No matter what in instated, there are loopholes. Particularly in the PP system, for instance-- the Option Stream Z: has almost 800 HP at stock but has a PP of less than 600. And it only costs 200.000cr. That's a loophole if I've ever seen one. Another example is the ZZII and all of the GT500 cars. I am not opposed to the idea of a car choosing filter but also not for it either. When I race, I want a challenge, a close race with minimal problems and minimal accidents like spins. And let's face it: the more powerful the car, the harder it is to drive. So it becomes very difficult to learn the car in a week, not impossible, but maybe a bit too much.

Agree too all can have a opinion about that sensitive case. Me i like to be careful with all racers and higher pp sometimes are out of control after the first burn on tire. I dont like accident, that make the race less competitive. But its not the same to all !!!

What I'd kind of like to see would be brackets that determine the pp of the cars in each combo. You could have 350-450, 450-550 and 550-up or something like that. The idea is if the low pp combo got eliminated you'd replace it with a low pp combo. It's just an idea that probably won't fly but I thought I'd share it anyway.
I suggested this a few months ago and it was rejected because it "restricts the picks of the winners."

I still despise this idea. We get weeks of fast cars and weeks of slow cars. There were weeks where I hated all of the combos but I sucked it up and raced anyway. Now I happen to like them and am doing pretty well with them.

I think Bowler's post is pretty much spot on. Some people are better at driving right to a car's limit then others. Others are better at driving in a pack. Others are better at hot lapping.

Keep the combos "random" and the results will be more interesting. Keep them sterile and the results will start to show a pattern really quickly.

Can someone, anyone, please confirm the complete and correct name of the Nissan we are using this week?

Go to Grsn Turismo New Car Dealer and buy...

Gran Turismo 350Z RS

It is NOT listed as Amuse etc. It is a "Gran Turismo" name brand. If you have another car then it is the wrong one.

i still have an hour of this class to burn so im gonna act like i totally disagree with you guys and dont comprehend what you are saying in an attempt to keep me occupied. slow cars are for slow people

i think it is that slow cars are more predictable and easier to recover mistakes. i say if you can't drive a slow car fast how will you handle the fast cars. everyone is learning at a different pace here. i don't think everyone figured out the Clio so much that it was boring. i think it's just that you guys are bored easily. i think slower cars refine your skills and faster ones make for new skills. i think we need a balance of them. otherwise we will end up running fgt. f2007. and x1 poor the likes for races. from my thinking it should be stock close racing. not the hardest cars to drive at the fastest tracks. im with hill. different cars for each round by pp

Gran Turismo 350Z RS is over 500 PP after break in. Is there a reason this is on sports hard instead of soft?

I think it was just slightly under 500 new from the dealer.

It sounds like you do..

It sounds like a lot of guys in this league think the way I do. I guess we are not in the fraternity of special elite snails.

That would not be within the rules.

I am crushed that I cannot absentee vote. Disenfranchisement! Call Al Sharpton!

i honestly want to know what makes you guys want to drive slow cars that much.

There are plenty of fast cars that don't handle like crap out of the box. The stock Zonda R is not one of them.

The x1 makes for fun racing. I didn't not like the Clio because it was boring, I just didn't like the Clio. I didn't get on the forum and whine about it tho. And I'm pretty sure I made a suggestion to have a slow, moderate , and fast race a few posts back. Also believe me on this, the f10 and f2007 are way easier to drive than the fgt, those things have mad downforce. I did make that last post as a joke, out of class now

Also a note some of you guys that don't know how to recover crashes should cross train with drifting cars with massive hp. My favorite high hp drift car is the viper gts, that bad boy can drift Daytona super speedway

Perhaps the problem is not with the combos but with the division placement system.

I won in D2 with the Alpha at Daytona so I know I am competitive in my division (thank you bowler for the rare mistake there, I know you would have won w/o it).

Unlike you Skills, I don't think I will ever win by 12 seconds unless they drop me down quite a few pegs. The competition is too good across the board.

The practice rooms are officially open! If you're assigned to Division 1 or Division 2 (or you placed in the top 5 of Division 3 this Sunday Feb. 17th. past please join with your best racecraft the

I'm pretty sure he was alluding to what I have been saying, just because you are on par with a cappuccino doesn't mean you will be on par with an f1

From the big dent in my couch, this is how I see it all.... This is nothing more than a big poker game. You get dealt a hand and play it to the best of your ability. You are rarely going to get dealt a royal flush. If you don't like the hand you get this week, wait awhile, be patient and sooner or later you will get something you dig... I have never heard of limiting the amount of 4's or just dealing face cards... Shuffle the deck, deal the cards and play!!

You must've clicked on the link before I had a chance to finish editing the lineup. Unfortunately, I have a habit of posting then editing (instead of the other way around). It's not the first time it's caused confusion. :ouch:

Why do you guys need to have all this fighting after one set of bad combos. I mean I can understand after the zonda but seriously guys, this has become more of a argument center than a racing league. I understand why some of you guys are upset because there wasn't any close racing apart from the Clio, but seriously guys, we shouldn't be fighting about each others skill level and whether or not this league should ban these high powered vehicles. Your lucky this league doesn't allow the lmp cars because we'd all be screwed. These cars are just a learning experiences and we should be taking advantages for these moments and just learn from it.

Now personally I'm a big speed guy, but close races are just an amazing feeling to be in. This league has been amazing for me and hopefully a lot of people and too much work and too much time for it to become what it has this past week. So everyone calm down and ik that this seems like a ramble on but it's just getting annoying when I get home and find that there are two more pages on the forum of just pure arguing.

As always, Exo deals the wisdom.

"I know when to fold them"

If you're already in, you may as well wait for the flop :sly:

I guess that is what I am doing. I haven't yet walked away but know when to run.

Just folding this hand. My free time is too precious to spend it doing things I don't enjoy. You guys can "man up" and take it. I am too old and too busy to care.

Funny thing, the debate over the last races has been more fun than the actual racing was.:)

A lot of you guys think we are arguing when I think we are just starting to talk.👍

And so the wheel of our SNAIL lives keeps spinning...

I agree greatly with what Bowler said as well. But I think things like the FGT and X1 really don't reflect what SNAIL is about. I guess with SNAIL I always feel like we are the grassroots racing league. But now that league is transitioning into a more professional entity with crazy race car crazyness. I think there is a good reason the RX-7 was one of the longest running cars in the league. It's in that sweet zone that I think everyone can competitively compete in. These high powered break neck beasts out there right now though. Aside from a small few, those are area 51 cars. The FGT is far beyond my concentration abilities. I could do a few hot laps and be good, but put me in the mix, hope I don't take anyone out as that damn UFO blindsides me.
I think that challenging cars do make us better racers. But no one fights a street fight, a sleezy cage fight, and a UFC match in the same night.
Now, for no better reason then just throw an idea out there, instead of bracket racing pp placement system something, what about a pp cap. Set it to like 1600pp for the night. I think I remember seeing this now that Im typing it, and not for the race that is going on right now I think? Anyway, prize a and be still work the same. prize a picks their car, then whatever the remaining pp that is left, prize b can use to pick their car. Savvy?
