Make a stellar pass and now you are a driving instructor? ;-)

I'm totally kidding my friend. I value your opinion. Take every advice you've offered to heart and must say you really are one to offer solid info.

LOL Yup.

Actually, just not real busy at work. Trying to stir up some non-inflammatory discussion.

ATTENTION SNAILS:

I am in possession of a brand-new, never used, shifter assembly for the G27 wheel.
If any snail is interested in purchasing this shifter assembly, please PM me and we can work out the logistics.

I am also rebuilding 2 pedals, a brake and accelerator, installing new potentiometers and will also offer them for sale shortly.

Just a reminder to all that the Oval Series will be running tonight at 11pm ET/8pm PT in the D2 lounge. We will be doing a test run for what could become the regular format for the series. A short practice session, followed by a five lap qualifying race and then a 37 lap main event. The car is the Ford Focus ST (premium) on SH tires and the track is Indy SS.

I hope to see a similar turnout to what we had last week. 14 drivers was awesome.

What kind of pots do you use to replace them?

I bought the pots off a website about six months ago which were advertised as replacements for the G27 pedals. I already replaced one on my accelerator pedal and they work great. I don't remember the website but I do go back occasionally to see if they have anymore and the website says 'sold out'. I'm glad I grabbed a few before they sold out of them.

Do they have a part number or manufacturer on them? I get pretty good results from using contact cleaner on them, but I imagine they will eventually have to be replaced.

The new pots have the exact same numbers on them as the original pots that came with the pedal set. I wrote the part numbers down and went over to Frys electronics and they did not have them.
Contact cleaner works great but it doesn't last long. You either have to change the pot or take the pot apart and clean it thoroughly. It's a lot less of a hassle taking the pot off and replacing it.

can anyone show up to race

As long as you have access to the D2 lounge, you can show up and race. I would be sure to have the Focus broken in or you could end up racing alone.

i'll be there JLBowler... as soon my 4 yo son leaves the subaru impreza at daytona speedway alone, i'll buy the focus and put the miles on it

Im considering buying a wheel seeing how most the other snails have them, would it be possible 2 piece together a G27 setup for alot cheaper than a new one? If not I'll be waiting for ps4 and GT6 to come out and buy a really nice wheel setup.

The reason why I have an extra shift assembly is because I have 3 G27 wheels and I don't need one of the shifter assm.
The best thing to do is buy the G27 all together.
I stumbled across a G27, brand-new in the box, sealed, at a Sears on the clearance shelf for $149. I know that they are people that like using the shifter instead of the paddle shifters and I'm sure it gets worn out after a while.

Haha, reverse no longer works on mine. Sure that says something about my driving. I got my g27 for 200 new off amazon. Ricky, I wouldn't count on gt6 being on the ps4. At least not until e3 and it is for sure confirmed, especially since that sony exec slipped up and said it will be on the ps3

I say we head over to D1 or somewhere like that and do a photo shoot, anyone up for that?

Edit: that was meant for the SPEC thread, but if anyone is up for helping make the banner for this season, come on over to D1 with your R35 gtr TC and join us

Hey tcrash (or anyone else that knows these wheels) since you seem to have a lot of practice with these wheels, quick question: Ever since I installed my GTEYE progressive brake spring in my G27, the brake occasionally doesn't completely release when I take my foot off. By that I mean, the screen indicates that I still have about 5% of brake input even after I release the pedal. All I need to do is tap the brake and it immediately returns to normal. It only happens once or twice every few hours, and only once so far on Sunday, but it is annoying. Any tips? Do I just need to clean the pot?

Hey DrKronin! It's a simple fix!👍 I picked up CRC QD Electronic cleaner at Wal Mart in the automotive section for around $5.00. Remove your pedal plates with an alan wrench, then remove only the silver screws from the bottom plate. There are 2 additional screws hidden under the carpet grabber. There is a small slot on the side of the pot where you can spray the cleaner!

This is exactly how mine started. After a while the tapping of the pedal no longer releases the brake and you'll find yourself falling back even in the draft.:grumpy: Do yourself a favor, crack open your pedals, find this part and give it a good cleaning.

Awesome, thanks! That's exactly what I needed to know. Nmcp1, I saw that you switched the clutch pot with the brake. Do you suggest that? I almost never use the clutch pedal, if that matters.

I changed the clutch pedal with the brake and everything was fine for over a year.
