Audi Quattro!!! Oh man am I a happy fanboy right now!
I guess I'll tell you my favorite crappy joke. Every time I say something about my Audi my uncle says "oh I have an inni!" and lifts up his shirt pointing at his bellybutton. No matter how many times he does it I laugh every time.
What I'm thinking is everyone knows Kaz had to rush GT5 out the door and GT6 might be what he wanted to get out of GT5. It's about the right time period and like you said most of those features were promised for GT5. And hey, I live a life of pure excitement and disappointment. For example I was just excited that I spelled excitement right and disappointed that I couldn't spell disappointment all three times I tried to
I'm really excited for the new tire models. Maybe now cars will have different handling characteristics when you change the tire compound. I've noticed in some cars if the 'factory' tire is modeled after a piece of crap that has gobs of sidewall flex when you upgrade to a better tire it still flexes very badly. This is very apparent when going from a comfort tire to a sport tire. Sometimes the sport tire acts like only the contact patch is made of better rubber and the sidewall is still comfort grade. The higher grip with bad sidewalls makes the sport tire flex WAY worse than any tire ever should.
Anyone else ever notice that? Call me crazy, but I aint crazy!

Rushed out? GT5 spent five years in development. I don't want to speculate as to why this was the case, but unless GT6 is already feature complete I would totally expect PD to trim back the features before release, just like last time.

Looks like fun to me.
Even if they didn't change much it's still the best damn racing game out there. Of course there are things we would all change to suit our individual interests but we all appear to like it well enough right now that we race fairly regularly.
The top things in GT5 that I would get rid of to streamline my own experience:
1) Do away with breaking in cars, mileage, oil changes etc. Who cares?
2) Make the garage available from any screen. I hate having to back all the way out of practice to select and test another car.
3) B-Spec? Really?
4) If you HAVE to have the stupid oil changes and breaking in cars then make it something you can do to several cars at once or get to it from the pit...etc. Just get rid of it though
Other than that I like the game a lot. Add some cars (subtract some of the stupid ones please...do we need 20 different Miatas or the amphibious VW?) and some tracks and I'm a happIER camper

You're right, Laguna Seca is great. I'm more worried about other's choices. Simply hearing Deep Forest, Trial Mountain, or Cape Ring makes me want to puke.I would gladly give up my pick if the prize A winner picked a real life track. If not, expect an FF.

It still exists! They just don't race there anymore.
The possibility that someone at GT thought up Deep Forest on their own...and it happens to be nearly identical in elevation and layout to the real track...is ridiculous.
I saw an interview from a local guy near the real track saying years ago some people came by with equipment to examine the track.
It's real baby.

It may have spent five years in development, but towards the end Sony was putting the pressure on Kaz for him to hurry up. He's openly said in interviews that he wanted a few more months to finish it up.
I know they're probably going to trim some things back, but we can dream.

I can't tell you what a relief this is! If GT6 were slated for the PS4, it would've split the league into two segments (GT5 players on PS3 and GT6 players on PS4) and that would be an absolute nightmare in terms of logistics and organization.
But now that we can play the latest and greatest Gran Turismo edition without having to fork out hundreds of dollars for a PS4, I imagine that the league will quickly transition to GT6 within days of its launch.
And then when GT7 comes out (holiday 2023? j/k), the PS4 will be much cheaper and already owned by many. At that point, it'll make the league's transition to GT7 fairly easy as well..

what a complete ripoff! GT6 on PS3? are u kidding me? just another ploy to empty our wallets! Kaz has disappointed me for the last time. GT6 is going to be nothing but the same ol same ol...give me wind shields, give me realistic damage, get rid of all the useless standard cars, etc.

well maybe i need to back up and appreciate your position. but GT6 on PS3 just makes no sense. there is no reason to release another game on the PS3...is there? i don't think it is Kaz, i think it's Sony being greedy. For God's sake, fix the front end menus. Thank you for all u have done Polyphony, but please streamline the experience...AND AGAIN, NO MORE STANDARD CARS, PLEASE

B SPEC HATERS-
One thing to think about. If you was injured in an accident and could no longer use a wheel or controller and had the love for GT we do. The B Spec would be your only way to play and get to use cars. So just think of that one person that gets to enjoy GT because of B spec.
Makes it completely worth it.

Makes no sense? How so? GT6 has been in development for a couple years now, and the PS4 was just recently announced. Further, every version of the Playstation has had two Gran Turismo games; the PS3 will be no exception. I'm sure there will GT for PS4, but I don't think PD really cares much about being a launch title for a new Playstation.
