I wasn't using stock rim size for my Aston Martin even though i was still able to race with it but i fixed that by putting back on standard size rims to use my Merlot Red color. Will use standard size from now on, i had forgotten the rule of no upsized rim sizes.

every body else doesn't use stock I know a few people in snail that use bigger rims I was asking the heads of snail WHICH ain't you! so step off!
Well then, as one of the heads of SNAIL, I say no to upsized rims. As stated by others however, it's unpoliceable by game settings, so I reckon you can "step off" and do whatever makes your little heart happy.

I'm going to remind you specifically Birdy, watch your tone when addressing other SNAILs here.
To add to what Dragonwhisky said.. If you're going to act belligerent on this thread, at least do it with proper grammar (including proper usage of capital letters). I've already asked GTP mods to give you a second chance and not ban you from the site for violating Rule #2 of the AUP. I PM'd you as a courtesy to give you fair warning as well. Please don't make me regret it.

It is police-able through the replays which is why I'm asking! There are even photo where you clearly tell that some one has up-sized there rims as I have usually looked through all the rims and picked the size that looks best for the car! Which is why I was asking for clarification on it as I don't want to loose points do to rims. And just like here in the thread have heard conflicting sides to this debate while in lobbies.

As for my tone You picked it up squarely how it was meant. I didn't appreciate how I was being addressed and the best I could come up with with out being overtly rude was to tell him to step off! Do with it what you will But you took it the way I meant it!

Come get your

@Schmiggz
for starters.. you cannot even fill a 2/3 filled grid.. or you already a lap behind. Passing? Sure in another dimension.
:yuck:

1st track that makes me dizzy..

NSX practice opening up

Nope. I didn't test with others. Come on. I even said how passes would be made.

Glad you have a thick hide. Probably get more negative comments on the passing possibilities without IRs here than in other combos. As the kids say, "Whatevs, Dooooood...."

Just wait until I get to choose the Samba Bus on Eiger Reverse for some real #%£¥ reactions.... Of course, my choosing a Prize A is after the next comet lands in the Gulf of Mexico and the auto companies bail out the government, mind you, but....

Ok hombres y mujeres (guys and girls),

I'd like to reveal the new track for miss Elise:
Twin Ring Motegi Road Course (full)

I was able to turn 1:58's on the first handful of laps for reference.

Bring on the venom! :sly:

(I don't know this zetta fett person, but they made a fine gif!)

And thanks to everyone that provided suggestions and feedback!!!:gtpflag:

The stewards are not going to look at everyone's rims to see if they've installed custom rims, therefore it's not policeable.

Yes, me and everyone else that read that response to Lessen took it the way you meant it. I'm telling you now, and everybody else, when it comes into your head to post something so blatantly inflammatory, confrontational and, as zer05ive put it, belligerent, take your hands away from your keyboard. We have the means to deal with that kind of thing now.

The stewards don't need to be the ones to police it just like they don't police every Sunday race all some one would have to do is report it if it's not reported then it didn't happen. Unless the stewards watch every single race from Sunday night then my point is moot! Which i'm sure isn't the case as I have seen a few cases that should maybe have been reported but they let by gone be by gone and I never saw an IR come against either drive.

and my point was I watched for a post from any one of the heads for clarification and responded to only your post that was clear as mud.

The reason I put it on the main thread instead of coming to you in a PM was in case anyone else may have been wondering the same thing which did happen case in point @racingchamp30.

Also I did type it up thought about what I was posting even opened up a second tab on my browser and read everything a few times to see if it still aggravated me as much when I read the entire conversation. I tried to think of nicer ways to handle it but couldn't only ruder ways so I went with the nicest way I could think of to tell him I wasn't asking for his imput.

Since you're now focusing on your question about rims, I will as well. The rims thing is much like the Brake Balance argument. The ones against brake balance adjusting say it goes against the spirit of our "Spec" racing league. I'm not going to argue that point as I sit on the other side of that fence. Be that as it may, no one gets penalized for adjusting the brake balance and no one will get penalized for changing their wheel size. If it becomes possible to set the game to prevent both BB and rims sizes from being changed, I'm sure it would be required almost as soon as it became knowledge the setting was available. Feel free to change your rim sizes. If you have problems with them however, you're on your own for the most part.

Thank you that is all I was looking for!

I'm not the one you should be apologizing to. Your head seems to be in a better place now though. Lessen was not being inflammatory, but only lost sight of what I posted a couple pages ago. I would ask you both, and everyone else, to have another look at that and consider it seriously.

Just because someone, whom you don't view as being "in charge", answers your question, doesn't mean their answer is incorrect. SNAIL Leadership do have other things going on in their lives and do not always have the freedom to immediately clarify questions and answers.

Even though his delivery could have been a little different, Lessen was pointing out the fact that, if you have a doubt about something being "against the rules", until you get clarification, don't do it. This seems to me the prudent course of action, whether a person is in the US Navy, US Air Force or otherwise.

The question I have is, does a bigger wheel package give you any advantage on the track? If so, I can see all of us going for the biggins. I am going to try it. Why not.... Big boss said it was ok. If you want to ban bigger wheels, just police it within the divisions. Don't even need a replay, if anybody looked at my car before a race and saw bigger wheels on my car he could bring it up right away. Spec is spec in my book. Right off the showroom floor and NO diddling with the car...oil changes excepted. We can still buy nice wheels, but they all should be the same size for consistency.

Has anybody researched the size difference? Wheels I mean. Is it just a cosmetic change or is there a minor speed advantage? Nail, I got a project for ya.

GTA is gonna be a white knuckle race. Should be fun with a full room. Almost like pack racing. Keep the defibrillator handy, this old man might need it.

A test for you mike buy 3 cars change oil. run 5 laps at the same track with the 3 different sizes. see which gives you the better times.

The diameter of the tires never changes when you change wheels so there is no gearing change and I don't think GT takes sidewall flex into account other than based on the type of tire (SH, RS, etc), or possibly even based on the physics of car itself. I've never noticed any difference changing wheel sizes (and most of the time I think the normal size looks better), but I tend to go for wheels I know are light in real life just in case... lol.

I'm aware of that. And would not have argued against his post if you had of been as clear with post
#76958's answer as you were with post #76996's answer or even have replied to ANY post for that matter until either you coach or bowler responded ( the people I believe to be in charge).

His argument was that I Had to use standard size which as you did clarify is not the case.

As for apologizing I won't as I may have been rude but in the end wasn't wrong for telling him that I was waiting for a person in charge to clarify any rules that may exist on tuning allowments being used with in the Sunday night lobbies. If you had of said no they are not allowed then I would never use them again on any car I use for snail as Every car I use for snail even if it's in my garage I buy new its first race and put directly into my favorites list(so I can easily see which cars are which).

To this I can say, I don't have any empirical evidence that rim sizes will help you be faster. I do have empirical evidence that BB adjustments will.

If this were as real life as they want it to be then going up in size would be an advantage but I have never noticed a difference as @connerwolf said they may not take side wall flex into consideration. which is why I asked for official ruling

Ha, my lap times are so inconsistent, it wouldn't be a fair test. I might try it... I have lots of money money money to play with. I have lots of cars to test on. I'll try a few different types.

What you were wrong doing is replying to his post at all and compounded that by being belligerent in your reply. Instead, you could have just drove on with some patience and let leadership get their answer posted, either confirming or refuting what Lessen advised. You chose differently and now you stand at the precipice. Now you have another choice to make. Step back or, jump off.
