Don't let the higher division guys scare you! Everyone is extremely nice, and would be happy to give you pointers if you were racing in the same room as them. @K1utch is an extremely fast driver, who absolutely loves helping guys get fast as well. Check it out!

@K1utch gave me a lot of tips on thursday's official practice about the GT-R.

Nonsense. There are lots of guys in the league that can help you get faster. While not everyone can be alien fast we can all improve. What times are you setting and are you using a wheel or a controller?
Haven't really kept track of my exact times. When on line I'm usually a couple seconds slower than most others. I just got moved up to div 6 a few weeks ago, did well in 7 but struggling here.
Don't get me wrong, if this is the best I can do that's okay, I'm still having lots of fun... And that's what counts most!!!
Btw I just started using a dfgt last week, much more fun than the controller.

The time trial window is closed for the week and all new races have been sent a message with their division placement.

@redsoxboy80 It's a good thing for you that I read every post in the thread and happened to remember that you said you would be racing tomorrow. For anyone else that is inactive, the correct procedure is to contact me via PM (conversation) and let me know your intentions to race. Those instructions are at the top of the inactive list in the drivers list post.

Part time priority will be updated sometime tomorrow before race time.

Unless I haven't been paying attention, it looks like a lot of drivers in D6 don't have me on their friends list on PSN, you need to.

I mean it.

Thanks for your help today on Apricot Hill @fizzer. Thank you @chatva for your help this week; I really like your good humored approach to any problem. I am discovering that there is an amazing wealth of racing knowledge in S.N.A.I.L.

I really enjoyed the other night when a current coach of sorts and my past first online coach happened to be in the same room for a while, in what was for me, the first time I saw them together; @K1utch and @Razor70. I got to witness some awesome racing between them.

Thanks for the kind comments and general supportive attitude of so many SNAILS on many Divisional levels. These little things really are encouraging and help with the hard work of learning to race, trying to keep a positive outlook concerning my progress, seeing the value of continuing to practice (no replacement for seat time) and seeing the rewards that come out of all the difficulties and discouragements that come along. When I decided to come online with my racing I never expected how I would look forward to the widespread positive, fun, can-do attitudes of so many great people involved in racing.

btw, it's cool how the Toyota in this week's combo actually has back-up lights.

Nice lapping with you for an extended period of time today Robin - and I agree, very friendly atmosphere provided by some of the veteran SNAILs and nice to be able to share and be given some tips throughout the day.

Cheers,

Don

Non sense man join in, we won't bite you in D7. The only good practice you'll get is against your own competition tonight in a pack.

  • Round 1 - 6 Race Laps and 6 minutes Qualifying
  • Round 2 - 11 Race Laps and 5 minutes Qualifying
  • Round 3 - 7 Race Laps and 7 Minutes Qualifying
If anyone has differing information, please let me know.

One thing I learned last night is that it's better to manually exit the game instead of asking the lobby host to kick you when you are stuck on a loading screen, at least if you hope to return to said lobby. You're very likely to get stuck on the server loading screen anyway and the game doesn't know that you asked to be kicked and bars you from entering said lobby for the rest of its existence.

Good racing/lapping with everyone last night otherwise.

Another week of no racing for me! Got to work! That'll be 3 weeks I've missed now! :grumpy:

Thank God I'll be back to normal from next week...:)

Attention West Coasters

I will likely not be able to make the races tonight. I believe that @RevStar-9 will also not be able to make it. That means we need someone to host/direct. It is a fairly straight forward process of setting up the room and then adjusting the various room settings between races. It also means you need a good internet connection.

If you can step in and fill this role tonight please let me know. Your fellow West Coast racers will appreciate your efforts.

Hey fellow Snails, I'm out of town until Monday so I will not be able to make the races tonight. Good luck to everyone. See you D4 racers next week.

I agree that you ought to be showing up it is a good group to learn with!

We do not bite.

Non-SNAIL related question. Have any of you used a driving experience with The Motorsport Lab? They have a deal on local.amazon for 3 or 6 autocross laps in either a Gallardo or Modeno 360 for $99 or $199, respectively. This particular offer is at Ralph Wilson Stadium (home of the Buffalo Bills), but they have other offers in the Northeast/east area.

I figure for $200, you can't really go wrong to get some seat time in a Lambo. What do you think?
