When you watch someone else run a lap there is the lag that makes it look like they are braking later and doing some other things later. Does this apply to watching a replay also, or are the inputs seen at exactly the time they are doing them in this case? Thanks.

I gave it a go last night on the DS3 - I think I managed a 1:05.4xx. Gonna see how I do tonight with the rig before we start official practice. For all those SNAIL's that play the game with a DS3, weather you're in D1 or D8, you have my utmost respect. :bowdown:

I'll update my time later this evening.

For various reasons I've been solely using the DS3 for the last few years, and my last wheel was a G25. There's no doubt a wheel allows for far more precision regarding steering, throttle and braking inputs, all of which are pretty important driving aids :lol:, but with practice it is possible to mix it reasonably well with the wheelmen!

I seem to remember one of the world's quickest guys in last year's GTA was a DS3 user (a Japanese guy I think).

Anybody have a g27 they want to loan me so I cam see if it justifies the extra money? I was wondering if it would make me faster. I think it would

And did not even had a drivers license either!
(Making that up)

@hooker4
Not sure about faster but definately cooler :sly:

.
Stayed off GT academy and this thread for more than a day and a half to reset and refresh my brain and it worked!! 1:03.357!!! I am a happy camper:cheers::cheers::cheers:

Edit: and I'm 10th US :cheers::cheers:
lets hope you can have that form in the final round.

I think you will need another .1 in order to safely stay in the top 28 US for the Leaf.

It was not the perfect lap that was in my mind, I know where I am lacking, was only expecting a .4 flat until I crossed the line.
I guess staying away helps a bit with breaking some habits created by muscle memory and your perceptions change a little bit in order to allow you to run a slightly different line.

So I gave the time trail another go
New time 1:03.313 I think that's good
Enough for 4-5th in the US

Well, I dug that Leaf out again. Got my time down to 1:04.130.
Just outside the top 5k, not bad for me, I'd say. I know where 2 tenths are, but any more than that would require something special.

nice run Mirado now i got to beat you again. Database has been updated.

Don't know if it's ever been done before but this idea just popped in my head while sitting here watching the WEC race, would it ever be possible to do some kind endurance event where the faster divisions drive spec LMP1 cars and the slower divisions drive in the spec GT category. We could combine all the divisions between however many rooms it would take to fill all the Participants. Each room would have a certain amount of lmp1 cars and gt cars. Just throwing an idea out there, it would take a lot of work but that could be great with the different classes battling each other! :gtpflag:

Hey guys... I would very much like to join the ranks of S.N.A.I.L. How do I go about it, what do I need to do?
@MajorBlixem,
Thanks for your interest!
We would love to have you in the league. Here's what you need to know and do in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You take the S.N.A.I.L. OLR and Racecraft Test

2. You run the Time Trial and submit your information by 23:59 EST on Saturday night if you want to race this Sunday.

3. @JLBowler PM's you with your assigned Division that we feel will give you the closest competition. You will be added to the drivers list.

4. The Race Director or Primary Host from the corresponding SNAIL Division will send you a PSN friend request. Sunday night you will need to sort the online lobbies by friends and join the lobby named 'snailracing.org Division_(x) based off your Division placement from JLBowler. That lobby will be where you race Sunday.

5. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

The original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.

Welcome to S.N.A.I.L. :cheers:

I can't make it to practice tonight. :grumpy:

My daughter really needs some Dad time, just... Well, because she needs some time. 👍

So, I can't make it tonight. I would apologize, but... :sly:

Hey guys, I'd like to join the S.N.A.I.L. league. I'm not the fastest but I'd like to race people of a similar skill level.

Also, the best I've gotten on the GT Academy first round is a 1:03.806. I lose the most time on the first, second, and third turns. The first one is probably the hardest for me. Anyone have any tips for them? Thanks!

Read back a few (6-7?) pages, some good tips if you want 'em. You will like the skills and divisions, I bet.

@Skills will be along soon, I wager.
