I want to just throw out the idea of possibly switching tire wear to "fast" from "normal".

In the Drivetrain Challenge on Tuesday nights we run 15min +1 lap races (which is 5 mins longer than we run on Sunday night) and we actually see some tire wear to the point where you can actually get them warm. In many of our Sunday sprint races the races are so short that the tires don't even get warm.

10 mins on Sunday snail tire regs is long enough to warm the tires on "fast" without getting them below an 8 or 9 at the end of the race.

Just a thought.

Just so we get to warm tires quicker. I personally also like endurance and pit strategy so if there was another SNAIL league for that I would join. On one hand you have things like BTCC that have tire changes in short races, and then on the other is Pirelli World Challenge which does ~40 minute races with no pits for tires or fuel, straight up sprint racing for 40 minutes. It's intense.

The Wednesday night Race Car Series is 40 minutes races with tires and fuel on Very Fast. They are racing right now. If I weren't on vacation, I'd be there. See the link in my signature. They will be accepting new drivers after the season, which I believe starts on 8/27.

I said next year! Let them work out the americanzation/bastardization issues with the year one cars...

What was the recall anyway? My car had some lame ass recall for the passenger airbag because when a 5'4" female weighing 128lbs rides shotgun it may result in a delayed deployment...

Sure it has to do something with the ignition. Just like every other GM recall, same ignition recall that has killed a few people.

i have also started to experiment with this:
http://www.snailracing.tk
obviously not finnished, and has some "placeholders"
but i figure i just throw it out there and
check out the response before i completley waste my time with it
I like where you are going! i would say lets keep the logo/text consistent. If we are going to switch to a new one then cool. Also lets not forget about the other series;) Can we have pages also?

Thanks for the banners! The August 17th lineup has been posted!

I'm still working on getting each banner linked to the prize winners' announcement posts, but they should be updated by later tonight. 👍

Yea I want it as it will just be a toy for all the nice twisty roads around here. I agree that it ultimately needs more power but to start I will just get used to how it is. I am looking at a black 3dr with 76k miles for under 5k. What should I look out for? I agree about it being a driver focused car without all the nanny electronics of new cars. And for less than 5k I am not sure there is a better Fwd car I could find.

That is the time a timing belt and water pump should be replaced. So finding one that has had that done would be nice. thinking back on everything we have done to ours, it's been a mix of yearly maintenance, and unusual fixes. haha. We found a seized caliper, the front sway bar was, and still is, out of alignment, had to replace clutch assembly, went shortly after got it, and replaced the power steering pump.... multiple times. :banghead: The HID (High Intensity Discharge) headlights are fantastic, if you can find them, i know they only came on certain packages. That's all i got right now.

[QUOTE="dangerzone641, post: 9976107, member: 220263London, doin the 12 hours of London?
What insane sadistic bastard decides that racing at London, one of the crappiest places in the game, for 12 freakin hours, is something fun to do? Two stupid 10 min races in a crappy Volvo was enough for me to never go back. 12 hours....[/QUOTE]
Technically we are racing at Brands Hatch:ouch:

That's too long to sit in one spot for one race and be focused. Most I could do is 30-45, maybe an hour tops.
In that case, @cmbeal317's Enduro series might still work out for you. Yes, the races lasts for two hours, but they're divided into three 40-minute stints so you won't have to sit in one spot for more than 40 minutes. During those "breaks' (aka caution periods), you can get up, stretch, take a leak, grab a snack, or whatever you need to do to get re-focused. If that sounds doable, click on the first link in my sig and go to the Saturday event. 👍
