I don't remember the specific date when i got my invite to join SNAIL but was in the month of March of last year. I was racing in the online lobbies in GT5 from 2010 and still through 2013. March of 2013 is when i got my invite and i want to thank Kcheeb, Zero, Handlebar, Dragon for the opportunity that was given to me to join SNAIL last year. I want to thank all SNAIL members for helping me to become a better driver. Want to thank AJVail, Chatva and many others for your help on the track. I have been taught the etiquette of online racing that i never thought i was going to be taught since joining SNAIL. The racing rules and etiquette of clean, competitive racing on the race track. I have gotten better over the years in SNAIL and always will remain a member of SNAIL. Race hard, Race SNAIL  :gtpflag: 👍

@RustyGunzz

Here's your official S.N.A.I.L. Welcome Post!

Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You take the S.N.A.I.L. OLR and Racecraft Test

2. You run the Time Trial and submit your information by 23:59 EST on Saturday night if you want to race this Sunday.

3. @JLBowler PM's you with your assigned Division that we feel will give you the closest competition. You will be added to the drivers list.

4. Send a PSN friend request to the Race Director or Primary Host from your assigned SNAIL Division. Sunday night you will need to sort the online lobbies by friends and join the lobby named 'snailracing.org Division_(x) based off your Division placement from JLBowler. That lobby will be where you race Sunday.

5. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below. Now if you've actually read this, post a :dunce: on the main thread.

6. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.
If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to S.N.A.I.L.

Me!!! I'm not really diggin the looks too much though. They really went for a very euro look to it, but I just don't think it's working as well as I was hoping it would. Sorry Mazda, you let me down this time :(

I remember for a while they've said they want to get it back down to 1000kg, and it seems like they're going to be real close, so props to them for that! I never doubted that they could give the ND back to the tiny sporty car that the NA and NB carried, and it seems like they're going to achieve a lot in that department. My opinion at the moment is more appearance based since we're not going to see any actual reviews for a while.

If you didn't catch the small print in one of Dragons most resident TOPP's, yesterday was the two year anniversary of his first race in SNAIL.
I want to congratulate him on his second gold star, and say thanks for all he has done and is doing to make this league what it is today:cheers:.

Well done sir.
Boy howdy, you went digging for that. So, I went digging for yours.

Man that feels so "way back in the day".
Turning on the 'way back machine'

I requested to join on page 52, post 1557, on March 10, 2012.

That's 68197 posts and 718 pages ago. Boy has this league grown:eek:

Congrats, @Dragonwhisky on two years and I also want to thank you for all that you've done to help this league:cheers:
Since everybody is feeling nostalgic. I joined this league in January with the intention on learning my wheel much better. Still having a hard time gauging my progress as I feel I have stayed way to consistent. Hopefully by my one year mark I will see some more improvement in my speed. Just want to thank the people that have helped unknowingly @chatva (for having constant speed) & @USERID_77a23 (knowing when to follow and when to pass)
Well I looked back to find that I had joined on 7/24/12
and found that @Schmiggz joined 7/26/12
and found that @TEX36 joined on 7/27/12

We three sure been racin a long time together, even before SNIAL!

It was great reading all these posts! I wonder if any of you SNAIL old-timers knew what you were getting into when you joined.. :P

Anyone who's been in SNAIL for a while probably has a good idea of what makes us tick.. In short, it's the hard work and dedication of many of our members working together towards a common goal. This collective effort over the years is why SNAIL is still strong and thriving as we approach our third birthday later this year. How many other sim racing organizations do you see on GTPlanet or elsewhere with that type of longevity? We're here for the long haul. 👍

However, none of "this" is possible without a continued group effort from all of us. So with that in mind, I would like to ask anyone who has so far only contributed by racing, to please consider doing more for your sim racing league. There are countless roles, responsibilities, and duties that we can always use help with. If you're not sure how you can contribute, just ask! :)

Speaking of roles and responsibilities, I would like to thank @Oshawa-Joe, @fzappa, @CoachMK21, and @aerolite for stepping up to the plate and accepting the newly created position of Division Manager for the respective divisions. In this role, they will ensure that all critical league duties are covered and accounted for in their division before league night even begins. This will be a huge help to our league GM @CoachMK21 keeping Team SNAIL running smoothly and efficiently (even though he's also his division's manager). But with only four Division Managers identified, that means we still have four divisions who've not had someone step up for this critical role. Hopefully we'll find four more brave souls soon. 👍

One last thing.. If you're someone who's always valued what SNAIL provides you, but just aren't in a position to devote any time (other than racing) to the league (because of family, work, etc), why not show your support and appreciation of those who do have the opportunity to sacrifice their time for the benefit of the league? A great way to do that is to put something up for auction on the SNAIL Marketplace! :D

I'm surprised that there hasn't been any mention of the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata extravagant release from last night. It would have been nice to get more specs of the car, but I think it looks great. I'm not a Miata fanatic, so the change in styling doesn't bother me.

If they can get close to the weight numbers they have talked about, it would be stunning.

Here are a few links of interest: Autoblog and Jalopnik has several links, including this one.

Looks like a s2k and a BMW z4 had sex and came out with something that looks a little like a jaguar. But that's just my opinion.

Having owned a Miata for a few years I'm glad to see Mazda still kicking it around. If the specs hold true it will continue to be a great little car. As for the styling - love the back 3/4 - not sold just yet on the front end. Going to need to see it in person before passing final judgment. As far as I'm concerned every Miata should have pop-up headlights! :sly:
