Stewards, your attention is needed in the stewards forum. We're trying to decide on an improved penalty system since the one announced for last Sunday had some fatal flaws that were exposed during the week's deliberations.

I'm hoping to have something in place in time for Sunday's races, but several of you have not chimed in on this topic yet. Please make your voices heard so that we can come to an agreement on something. If you have a better idea than what is currently being suggested, please let it be known so that we develop the best solution.
👍

Tutoring is tonight!
I plan on running the Viper first, then Vette, then Lotus, since it was ran last week, most should have some what of an idea of what its capable of.
If you would like to show up a hour earlier (8 central/9 eastern), let me know here, and that can be arranged.
I work early on week days so the tutoring from me, will be from Officially 10-12pm Eastern. When Devious gets home, around the time my tutoring would end, if she wants to get on and continue, that's up to her.
I would like to do 45 mins of the first two, then 30 of the Lotus, since it is vastly easier to drive, as long as everyone is getting the hang of things.
If you plan on attending, post here so I have a rough idea of how many will be showing up. In the past there's been 3-4 people showing up, but with the recent new members, I heard last night more would like to take part.

BTW cheeb, I mentioned that I probably won't make the races this Sunday about 20 posts back, but I think it got buried in the conversation. Just wanted to make sure you saw that.

Hey guys, it looks unlikely that I'll be able to make it for the races on the 17th, as I'll be 2 hours away at my brother's commencement until just about 2 hours before the race. It would be best to cross me off the list for this week. Thanks.

I did see it Dr, but I didn't update the Drivers List, it is now.

Thanks for reminding me 👍

They are. There's going to be a real balance between tire life and lap speed that needs to be struck.

By the way, Mopar. Thanks for picking the Corvette. It's friggin' sweet.

I'll be there but not until just before 10 eastern.

There are a lot of ideas being thrown around. If you are a steward, jump in and throw your ideas into the hat as well.

A sort of miraculous thing has just happened.

Almost every year my family goes to Lime Rock Park for the Vintage Festival. On Sunday they line up most of the cars around the track and people walk around, take pictures, and just learn about the history of some of the more interesting autos. Well we take tons of pictures as well, and we have a digital photo frame in out kitchen that we've added several of those pictures to in a slideshow format.

Well I just went into the kitchen to grab something and noticed the picture showing was of a silvery-blue Corvette with a black oval on the back with the number 614 in it. Now it looked exactly like the one in GT5, but I wasn't sure about the number. So I looked it up.

Sure enough, it was the same car, and I had seen it in the flesh without even realizing it. I've always really liked that car too, even in GT4. I'll have to post the picture when I get a chance. It looks a bit different than the GT5 version in terms of textures and colors, but I'm sure it's the same car.

I'd love to join but what cars do I need to buy?

Hey Izzyracer97,

The cars you need to buy are at the bottom of the second post.

We run a clean league by enforcing the GTP OLR and we highly encourage all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become familiar with both.

I'll add you to the drivers list, you'll be starting in Division 3. If you can't make it on a Sunday, please be sure to give us at least 24 hours notice by posting in this forum, it makes things much simpler for us, thanks.

PSN friend requests will be sent to you from SNAIL_Division1, SNAIL_Division2 and SNAIL_Division3. Their lounges are where we race Sunday night and hold our various events. Here's a breakdown of the ways we use the lounges.

During the week we run a number of different events feel free to jump in and partake!

The original post also has a lot of information regarding the league, commit it to memory ;)

Welcome aboard and enjoy :)

thanks and there is a likely possiblilty that I will not make it this sunday, but I shuld be able to make it the following weekend. :) oh n make sure u guys don't send freind requests to Izzyracer97 because I no longer use that account on GT5.

Just so we're on the same page, you won't be racing this Sunday?

And I used the 'no_bull_racin97' psn id from your GTPlanet account, is that the correct one?

No bull and I are in the F1 league with Oshawa, I hear it's fun over here and figured I'd give it a shot too.

What info do you need from me to get started?

I just need your psn id and the fact you want to race with us :)

On my way home so on mobile, can't see if your psn id is available. I'll get it sorted when I get home 👍

Oshawa has been known to throw a fib or two out there  Best to experience S.N.A.I.L. first hand :)

PSN is GianDoe. I'm pretty sure I still have some friend spots open but if you have any problems LMK and I'll trim some lower ranked guys from the list.

Hey GianDoe,

You've probably seen my spiel to Izzy, but I like to make sure I reply consistently to everyone joining S.N.A.I.L.

I read the rules, just to confirm you're allowed one blocking move and back onto the racing line (assuming you aren't cutting the guy off right before the braking zone). It's basic stuff almost not worth asking since I assume we're all gentlemen racers and know this stuff, but I just wanted to make sure.

Hey Gian,

Section 10 Paragraph A of the GTPlanet OLR covers what you describe. Although, it's referred to as changing the racing line :)

We race clean, fair and for the competition, but when incidents are reported, the OLR is used to to resolve them.

Thanks for asking the question, if nothing else, it helps with awareness 👍

Perfect, just wanted to make sure. See you on the track!

Sitting here watching Bob do his thing and realized that although he does such great work for the SNAIL community, ironically, he would not be very welcome on the track on Sunday nights...

I know that tuning is not allowed but I am thinking of making a small modification to the 'Vette... I want to add a medium sized Danforth anchor and a length of chain so I have a back up braking system for the end of the long straight at Tokyo... I was considering the extra fridge I have in the garage but couldn't fit it through the window... *sigh* I appologize! It has been one of those weeks!!:ouch: Really looking forward to Sunday night!

Hey cyborg, how goes the battle? Keeping out of trouble I hope ;)

They closed the position I was after about a week ago...not sure if anyone was hired. Its so frustrating. I check the internal postings everyday like I'm anticipating an excellent christmas present only to find I've been made a knit sweater. :(

My wife is now looking for a job and she's striking out. Interviewed yesterday for a job nearly 90 minutes from home so I've been blowing of steam running in dirty rooms 1-2 times a week. I'm certain my clean driving ability had taken a hit. If I come back shall I start in lowest division? I'm not certain last time I ran, but I'm certainly nowhere close to that errm "skill" presently.

Tough row to hoe. Especially when you know you have the skills and ability to do the job. Keep at it, someone's got to recognize that 👍

It seems to be a pretty tough market in the States now. Up here it's a different story for some reason. We can't seem to find enough qualified people.

When you come back, no if's ;) and yeah, you'll start in D3, we all know where you'll end up though :)

Chin up dude!

You guys aren't even trying with your binary code. I'm so bored I just sat here and translated it.

Buue and Dywc mean nothing to me.
