Car Selection Guidelines
Dealership Cars - The maximum price for a selected car is now $1,000,000
DLC Cars - Only DLC cars that are FREE and currently still available in the PlayStation Store can be selected.


How would we as a group go about discussing and hopefully changing the maximum price to $1,250,000. ?
I figure with inflation this would only be a small cost of living increase. If you are grinding for $1,000.000, then an extra $250,000 is not that far of a reach. The extra bump would open many more cars.

Your thoughts?

As MajorBlixem said. 17 cars would be added and 3 of those have almost identical counterparts that are under 1 million.. With the cap at 1 million cr. we have 1089 cars to choose from.

Before anyone starts throwing out other numbers, I've done the research already.
1.5 M = 39 cars
1.75M = 54 cars
2.0 M = 84
2.5 M = 88
3.0 M= 92
no cap = 110

When and if it's time to raise the cap, the sensible move seems to be to go to 2 million as it would give the most bang for the buck. The issue with raising the cap is you have to consider the potential burden placed on a new member. With the cap at 2 million, we could be asking a new guy to run out and spend 6 million on cars for their first week and he might only use two of them the one time.

Why not increase it to 5 million I just don't want to have to race the red bull challenge enough times to buy the 20 mil cars!

lol I already buy the new cars every week anyways because it is easier then going into my garage and taking all my tuning parts off of them
 
This was brought up before. There are so many cars to choose from under $1000000. Some people aren't on much to earn money to buy cars each week.

That increase introduces more race cars than street cars, and in my opinion, street cars give us better quality racing.
 
Of all the cars listed when going up to 1,250,000 cr., I only want to race the Mercedes-Benz190 E 2.5 -16 Evolution II '92

I'd love to race that car too. I mentioned it in a practice room a while back but didn't realize the price.

Question: I believe I read that If gt gives you the car for free does that mean that cars like the redbull standard, lotus F1, redbull junior and all the visions are available for picking?

Im not at my PS3 now, but some of the VGT cars are $1000000 but some are higher right? Earning them in seasonals for free is temporary (I actually missed a few), so I can't expect the ones worth more than $1000000 (if there are any) are eligible.
 
the bump to 2 million is a big leap for some. Like you said the potential burden would be 6 million. That's if we as a group chose all 2 million dollar cars, which is unlikely. I am thinking small increases, hardly noticeable. Those who do grind may have to do only one more race for 250,000.

You did not read that. You might have read that any DLC car that is currently available in the PS store can be selected. That statement really goes back to GT5 and will apply if there is ever any DLC run through the store for GT6.

thats why I asked Because to interpret it to GT6 would the lotus F1 and redbull's not be a class of DLC since they aren't giving us DLC for gt6.(so far) and you can Win them for free through GT. I'm looking for clarification or if you wish a way to bend the rules. As i would like to race the Redbull standard with a full grid

Those cars are not and were never available in the PS store so how exactly would you apply that statement to GT6 and have it allow those cars to be exempt from the cap? The only way you might stretch it would be to consider them free but then you have to assume that everyone has done those events and won the cars or has the ability to win those cars. That's too much assuming. The cap is all about accessibility, especially to new members.

I was not aware this has recently been discussed and is a closed issue.

You have to split it even further. It's all DLC. Downloadable Content is any content that is downloaded. This is where the split comes in. There is paid DLC which GT6 does not have and there is free add on DLC which GT6 has plenty of. In the case of GT6, the add on DLC is additional content that is being added to the game free of charge by PD. Some of this content is added directly to the players garage and some still has to be earned or purchased with in game credits. The only reason this content is mandatory to download is that you must have the current version of the game to play online. This doesn't mean that patches and free add on items are not DLC. They are just not paid for.

For anything that has to be earned or purchased with in game credits, the credit cap will apply. The bottom line is that you have to be able to obtain the car right now for 1 million in game credits or less and winning it doesn't count because it's no guarantee that everyone can win it.

well seeing as this is defiantly a non issue and obviously getting shot down right away i'll drop it
