I will say a couple of the cars I tested at Brands assuming I won the car choice...

Lotus Elise 111R '04 Race Car (534pp I think)...super grippy on RH tires and the British Theme would have been my first choice. Car never used before.
M3 GTR...never used. SM tires.
S2000 Type V '03...never used. SH tires. Car is MUCH better than the premium S2000.

Someone earlier suggested the last two and I gave them a shot. Really nice.

The NSX was a little large for Brands if you ask me. That track needs a small car to be really fun. So choose something small ;)

But given the Prize A choice...the Elise fell to the wayside when Suzuka 2014 became my first choice. That NSX is so good there while the Elise was just...too easy?

I thought about going to Madrid in the Elise but I think more people would enjoy, myself included, the Suzuka/NSX combo.
As I am sure that everyone is chomping at the bit to get in some practice with the new car at Brands Hatch, I am tempted to go with your Lotus Elise race car recommendation. But I'm really curious if the Cadillac Cien would be a fun car to race at Brands Hatch. With downforce and higher pp, it seems to be a wicked pissah right out of the showroom. Also, in line with your small car idea, I really like light car company rocket. [yes its been used before] Opinions?

Caterham? :D
Cheers

no matter what you choose the vultures will be out in force! also if you want something that hasn't been used I think that the gt300's are all available. Downforce is a really useful thing around brands hatch

New driver with SNAIL ... I'm trying to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing club from the Community portal on my PS3/GT6. Search tool says Club Not Found ... a manual search shows nothing. What am I missing here?

What about the subaru vision car, we tried it before the senna car and everybody liked it but he really wanted the senna car

Some JGTC cars would be good. Maybe a vision car. Or might I suggest my personal favorite, the Mazda Rx500.

Howdy folks, just got the PS3 back up and running. Had to download about 5 hours worth of updates and finally am up to date, however I can't seem to join any lobbies related to snail due to new community club feature. How can I join the "club", so to speak. I used to race D4 though I don't think I will be active on race days but wanted to join in on some practice with fellow mates all the same. Cheers

Are you an Ibanez fan or just the guitar that "sung" to you? I've been playing with an Ibanez since I was 16. I have a Stagestar electric and ermm, can't remember the model of acoustic off the top of my head, haven't played much since I cut off my finger though.
Time for a ukulele? Or get prosthetics like Tony, can't spell his last name, Iommi, from Sabbath. Only need three fingers for metal anyway.

You have to complete all the steps in the conversation I started with you about your division placement. There will be a post from myself, zer05ive, coachmk21, and dragonwhisky. All of them have instructions. Once we see that all that has been done, you will be sent an invitation to join the club. I don't know how much of this you have or haven't done and I don't have time to check right now. I'm on my way out the door and saw your post as I was going to post something about the last prize selection.

About the last prize selection. The prize coordinator has been in contact with Rob Brown and has it under control. @Rob Brown has until 9ET to make a pick or @vsfit has a back up pick from him and that will be announced.

My guitar wall, missing a couple. I built the three on the left last winter. The one in the middle I am covering in 60 year old deerskin. The Les Paul copy sounds and plays like a dream. I keep the one on the right tuned to drop d for thrashing. Great and rewarding hobby.

D1 data for 11/30/14 has been entered in the Results doc.

Congrats to @Adventuruss for the overall win!

D1 Summary Data - 2014.11.30.jpg

And here's some data from last Sunday for the combo returning this week, the V12 Vantage at Daytona Road Course:

image2.png

The graphs show the distribution of best lap or total times for each division as a boxplot. The "box" part shows the time range for the middle 50% of drivers, and the "whiskers", the lines extending vertically away from the boxes, show the gap to the maximum and minimum times.

Minus some outliers here and there, this is what the distribution of times usually looks like for each combo.

As you can see, @JLBowler does a bang-up job with driver placement.

Thanks to all the Data Specialists for getting all the data entered this week.

Shifter Kart?

Cappuccino Race Car!

Can never have enough Lotus - what about the '62 Élan or Motor Sport Elise '99?

Looks like D4's going to get some additions!

Hey JLBowler, I've done the SNAIL OLR and Racecraft Test, run the Time Trial and been placed in Division 7. I don't think I missed anything …. maybe I did? So I guess I just need to wait for the invitation to join the club. Thanks!

Nice work! Though, unless you're taking a picture of them in a mirror, it looks like you made them all upside down. I think/hope I've successfully attached a few pics of the nicest I ever built, a '53 Pine Tele copy with edges so rolled I had to refret it myself using extra tall jumbo wire with the middle sanded down to compensate (took me over 80 hours; never again).

like times 100! thanks for posting this @msgt-sd

Man, some of those guitars have me jealous. These are my three. Almost forgot about the old Hawaiian slide I got from my grandma. It needs some new running keys fabbed up. My grandma had it since she was 9 and it was given to her by her aunt, so I'm not sure how old it is, but close to 70-80 for sure.

what can I say...... I'm one of those very rare right handed people who plays guitar left handed.... Sucks when buying an axe, very limited lefty's out there, so, build my own. I absolutely love that neck on the pine tele. Drool, drool.

no news on your pick yet? less than 2 hours and change before official practice begins.

When I was younger I played in several punk bands, latter called grunge and the two babies beside me at all times was a music man sabre II white and black mirror and the fender precision bass in same colors.
When I moved to Canuckland I sold all my stuff as it was too expensive bring it over so i m still dreaming on buying that stuff back again.

Have you driven any of them on track yet? The vibe I get is that you haven't......
