On discussion boards, it is usually a good idea to be concise - go for 1-2 sentences. Then, consider adding two returns to separate your next point.

This format frequently allows you to focus the attention of your audience if needed. Also, this format is rather easy to skim, and for others to jump past, if needed, or to respond to, if you ask for feedback.

Good luck - minor things help. Thanks, @FloptaStr8 for the additional comments above. You get a cookie for your helpful, good deed. Heck, I'll send you a $hell for choosing to help, and not deride. This is a good SNAIL attitude, and I appreciate it.

PS - I guess I need to look in the Frequently Used Documents to find out HOW to send $hells... I'll send it NLT tomorrow.

Bonus! The Frequently Used Documents showed me how to send $hells, job: done!

Having been in the education field, and based on my observations, I would say some here were not taught proper grammar & punctuation very well. Either they were not taught and corrected, or they didn't care to learn

Or they're tapping their posts in on their phone w/ an auto-fill extravaganza. 💡

Having been in the education field, and based on my observations, I would say some here were not taught proper grammar & punctuation very well. Either they were not taught and corrected, or they didn't care to learn and just skated through high school like so many do (unfortunately). I've spoken to many college professors and the general consensus is many high school students today are severely deficient in their written communication skills. Therefore, it may be that those confusing posts are due to a lack of knowledge & understanding.

To those who are catching flack for your punctuation/grammar, might I give you some advice.? When making a post, try to model your post like those here who write clearly and concisely. Reread (proof) your post and add a period (.) at the end of a thought, or where you think it should go. Then reread your text pausing where you placed each period and see if it makes sense. Edit as needed. Don't stress yourself trying to use commas, parenthesis, semi-colons, etc. Start with a basic period at the end of each sentence followed with a capital letter on the first word of the next sentence. Hope this helps.

Flop

Thanks @FloptaStr8 for being able to put it in a more educational and nicer way for me, lol :)

I look at Dirt's posts now and treat them like a puzzle. I try and fix them myself to see what this guy is trying to get across.....doesn't work.
