Division 6 Race Report

No disconnections. Just had one grid lock glitch for Combo 3 Race 1 so we restarted the race. Congratulations to all of the winners tonight. Great racing everyone. Thank you to all Data Recorders/Uploaders, Replay Recorders/Uploaders, Stewards. Clean racing throughout the night. Got my win tonight during Combo 2 Race 2 with the Zonda.

Race clean, Race Snail :gtpflag: 👍 :)

I didn't see a response to this. It's gone in 60 seconds (the original) I had to look it up :) ...on another note, should uploading 6 replays to a flash drive take over 45 min? maybe i need a newer flash drive ???

It shouldn't, even on USB 2.0. Is it taking that long to go from PS3 to USB?

@TomMang_68

No, it shouldn't take 45 minutes to copy replays from the XMB to a USB stick, unless, the USB stick is an old USB 1.0.

I can't swear to it but I don't think the PS3 has USB 3.0 ports, but a USB 3.0 drive will still work in it. The only thing will be the transfer rate will be at the PS3's highest rate.

I had the same problem with an old USB stick I was using to move replays around. Once I started using a newer one, it started taking about 5 minutes or less to copy them.

I don't think the PS3 has USB 3.0 ports. If they do, the little plastic piece inside it would be blue, where most USB 2.0 ports are black or white. 99.9% sure they are 2.0, since 3.0 didn't really surface for most devices/cables/PCs as a norm until the last few years.

As for transfer rates, 480mb/s might be a bit high for actual transfer rates. I think realistic transfer rates across USB 2.0 are about 30-35mb/s. Given our replays are in the range of 15mb a piece, there shouldn't be any reason why they take more than 30 seconds to transfer. They've never taken more than 30 seconds for me. Do you have another USB stick to try with?

So it seems that Ottawa, Ont. Canada, home to myself, @Mike Lobban @LLOYDZELITE69 and a few other SNAILS was the coldest National Capital in the world over the weekend. While the actual temp wasn't a record, the 50km gusts made it bump up against -40 C with the wind chill!
Oh well, had enough "anti-freeze" (read scotch) in me that I didn't notice my face freezing solid on the walk home from the neighbors!

That 5 minutes is what it takes for 6 replays, not 1. Pretty sure the USB stick I'm using is 2.0 at least.

No, it shouldn't take that long. Same thing happened to me when I first started uploading replays. I switched to a different USB drive and everything's been fine since.

I would like to give a big "SHOUT OUT" to everyone that helps run, organize and keep the SNAIL engine purring!!! All your efforts are truly appreciated.👍

It was a little over a year ago while playing GT6 that I got a message from a organization called S.N.A.I.L Racing asking me too join their league.
Having absolutely no online experience and with the encouragement from my wife (bless her heart) I decided to give it a shot.
We'll let me tell ya, it's been nothing short of a fantastic time so far. I've had plenty of highs and a few lows...but there's always someone willing to lift your spirits with words of encouragement.
I'd like to think I've made a few friends during my stay here and any "broken fences" have quickly been mended.
It's pretty awesome when you can gather a group of people from all over the world with the same passion and let them go racing together...No "borders" or passports required here, thank you very much!!!

Anyway, short story long...hope to stick around for another year, cause it's been a real blast so far!!!

Gotta go...it's a holiday up here today called Family Day, so you know where I'll be.
Cheers everyone...

No room is reported as full. Hosts may start at the scheduled time.

Sorry Sir - did not see this post until this morning.
I wondered why you entered the D-5 room during qualifying

Saw the "go ahead" post and gave Tex the OK to start. I also only saw your post after race night. I only monitor the thread until race time starts.

My car took about a solid 7 seconds to start yesterday morning from being so cold.
