I updated the post. And if you read back the other posts from the previous page you'd know what I was testing. :)
I have read all the post today and the director of the series said no giving a really good reason as to why not! Along with a bunch of regulars of the series backing up his statement. Now figuring out a new ROC format to bring that back would be worth some time!

I think they stated they are happy with the cars they are currently running

He doesn't care. Nobody is going to convince that guy that not everything needs to be meddled with, not every race is going to pan out as intended and not every combo can be perfect. If HE doesn't like it, then by golly HE will "fix" it, and gather as many fellow whiney cronies with him as he can.

lol I think the 4 other guys in there are just racing to race!

On Monday Night Racing we will always race the Miata (or a better car if ever found) to allow all drivers to both learn, and just as importantly, HAVE SERIOUS FUN.

...and we will always have a faster second car to allow the faster guys to strut their stuff and to introduce more speed and reduced decision making time to our new guys.

I took this as an opportunity to help contribute to the already very friendly Monday Night Miata club and see if I could find a better car. I just stretched to the the Toyobaru because some people (who shall remain nameless) don't like it that much. If I'm stepping on any toes @Nail-27 please let me know and I'll cease and desist. :gtpflag:

As long as we remember not to bring the Miata to long tracks like Suzuka where the longest straight is over half a mile. Suzuka is a tough track in general to maintain side by side racing, just by the nature of the course not being just clockwise or counter-clockwise. It's both.

If find this simply silly to be quite honest. There's nothing wrong with the roadster at Suzuka and the fact that the overall direction of the track is more equal has little to do with it's ability to provide side by side action. There are several corner where it's not a good idea, sure, but the high grip level we run makes running side by side totally feasible at well over half the track.

That's all I'm saying really.

That applies to every track though. Not every corner is good to run side by side. If you can figure out which ones those are, you won't end up biffing it.

As for "if a better car is found", if it aint broke don't fix it. We know you don't like to run the same car for more than 2 weeks, but if it works, it works, stick to it. I would take his comment as "if someone stumbles across a better car, not to actively try and get rid of it.

Maybe we should go back to doing it with the Eunos instead of the Roadster TC, but I'm pretty sure we've done that recently so I didn't want to repeat a combo. In testing now I noticed the newer Miata/Roadster is just as fun and not too fast for boost racing.

I'm not trying to get rid of it. I want to add cars to the roster to change things up from week to week. In the same way that we don't know the tracks until right before, we can do the same with the cars so we get little practice on the entire combo.

Getting a little hot out. Anyone around for combo practice?
**Currently testing new cars for the Monday Night Pack Racing Series**

Cars to buy (+oil change of course)
-Honda S2000 '06 - SH
-Mazda Roadster (NC) '07 - SS

I'm thinking we can add more cars to the roster and alternate them from week to week so we have more options. The '07 Mazda Roadster is to match with the Eunos and the Honda S2000 to go with the Toyobaru.

We just did a race with five drivers at Apricot Hill Raceway and the boost works well. 10 minute races. Come on down to ol' Pengy's Testing Chorale!

I have already talked to the powers at be. There wont be any changes to MnM as far as I know.

Gotcha. I'm glad the Touring Car got added at least. I know I was a part of making that possible so that's cool. :)

Me, me, me, me, me!

Hate to break it to you, but it was there from the beginning. We temporarily retired it to get back to the roots of what we were trying to achieve with the series.

Hehe. :) Thanks for pointing that out Robbie, but how dare you steal his thunder!
