I liked all there combos last night. The only one I had the most trouble with was the California.
Normally I'm one to just feel out braking points and then set laps from there but with the motegi courses involving corners finding the right braking points (particularly on the long straights followed by tight right handers) seems to be key...I liked all there combos last night. The only one I had the most trouble with was the California.
They are tricky. The first one isn't as difficult to turn in because it's downhill but the second one is misleading because it's on flat ground. It's tighter than you realize too. It makes all the difference in top speed on the back straight going into the high speed chicane.
No one has trouble with the Lamborghini or Catheram? Blue room had 8 drivers who spun out in the Catheram out of 13 drivers.
No rumors to share, outside of a few top GTP brass saying be patient, something big is coming. As for the maintenance thing, I could be wrong but I believe that what happened was that there was also a PSN server maintenance of some sort going on, and that other games were taking then time tondo server maintenance.Wassup with the PD boys? It's been how long now after those three major maintenance outages and nothing..... nada.... zilch......?

Anybody has any rumours to share?
This is gonna be a great Sunday
I'll have to double check this,
But I am pretty sure we had faster lap times in every data slot, for Div 3! That's unbelievable.
BTW, I miss you guys D2!

That being said, server maintenance could mean lots of things that may not have an actual client side update requirement. I personally believe that new APIs were added server side that will facilitate new content that is being closed beta. Which, might also explain why said top GTP brass may not be able to elaborate on the good things are coming line. They are participating in it.
In fairness, there's definitely not a big pace difference between D2 and D3. Looking at the data and comparing the 2 divisions I see 5 of the 6 fastest race laps were set by D3 drivers. Having said that, you can't really compare like with like as these times are obviously set during race conditions and they may, or may not, have been helped by some draft or set by a driver out in the lead and just doing enough to stay out there without pushing for the ultimate laptime etc. etc.
Comparing the qualifying times, where the playing field is more level, tells a slightly different story with D2 drivers being faster in 2 of the 3 Pole Position times with the D2 time for combo 1 and combo 2 being a reasonable bit faster by .575 and .699 respectively and the D3 time for combo 3 being faster by just .060.
I'm just concerned that none of those times were mine!
Btw, we miss you too!
For those who missed the GT Academy Final Race:
I had a really bad time with it - but I'll sirvive "maybe".No one has trouble with the Lamborghini or Catheram? Blue room had 8 drivers who spun out in the Catheram out of 13 drivers.
This is a car that it's handling is effected greatly with a wheel. With a controller it is hard to handle how much the car turns so I pretty much take every corner drifting. If I was with a wheel, I could race it like chatva during that video he had up there, his driving was really smooth and not once did I see he made a mistake with oversteering or understeering.I had a really bad time with it - but I'll sirvive "maybe".
I feal more confortable with the Montegi/Cal combo, couldn't try the 3rd cause I was getting kicked out of the room (server).
I think the car (lambo) is too big/bulky for the track, but it could be just me being soft...and the other 7 drivers.
Hopefully we do better Sunday!
This is the first I've heard of Patreon, but it doesn't really seem to fit. Gofundme would probably be more up our ally, but still doesn't do anything to help distribute swag (managing inventory and shipping etc). The main option that I've been considering is booster.com, which is an offshoot of CustomInk. And since CustomInk is who made our latest batch of shirts, they already have our design on file. I haven't actually seen any of our new shirts in person yet, but the pictures I've seen of them look good as far as I can tell.@zer05ive you could also think about setting up a Patreon or gofundme site. People could contribute to it one time or even monthly.
What are your cost right now for the swag? individual or bulk orders. vs using a distribution service. This is the first I've heard of Patreon, but it doesn't really seem to fit. The thing about booster.com is that they would process all of the orders, make the shirts, and ship them out, which is great because that'll a big PITA. Of course the downside is that they take their cut of the funds raised, but I guess that's fair considering the service they provide. Another downside is that you have to set a time limit to any fundraiser that is started. That's not really a deal breaker I suppose, but it's be awesome if anyone could just buy a shirt whenever they wanted to - especially new members who haven't even joined (and therefore don't even know they want a shirt yet lol).
If anyone has any other ideas, please suggest them. Any feedback on the booster.com idea would be appreciated too. 👍
Did you see this?Mmmmm, nothing better on a hot summer day than a nice, cold, Rock'n rye Slurpee.
Onto my thoughts and opinions on the combos. GT6 doesn't do a super justice. But should be good racing so long as you don't lose momentum. The Lambo is going to be an interesting one I am thinking. I don't think it too wide, but throttle control is must.
@pakicote you can just go home with that kinda talk. Messing with my PMA!

Yes right along those lines and being up here in Canada some stuff can be cheaper. I like the idea of a paypal account and would rather snail get the most in return! To follow the path set by Birdy, why use a one stop shop? Aside from pure ease. they are, in my experience more expensive. If you have a person however that is willing to do the shipping and handling, I think it would in the end be cheaper to set up a paypal account or something similar, and pay out funds from there to either SNAIL sponsorships, events or what have you, to reimburse the shipper and handler, and to purchase the swag. Anyone can order whenever and there is no end date on the "fund raiser."
As @zer05ive has made his preference clear, and I in no way want to step on his toes, I'm leaving this endeavor in his capable hands. I'm willing to still help out if I can. Personally, I was going to pay to have a couple dozen stickers made up, and just use my PayPal account if anyone wanted to purchase them from me. But this would have been a like, one or two time thing to satisfy the desires of current members. I didn't have any long term plan to build an online store, which could be very beneficial to SNAIL in the long run.To follow the path set by Birdy, why use a one stop shop? the lambo handles pretty damn well, the transmission is what sucks about itThis car is a pig and it sounds like crap.
