So, I am sure it happened while I was on my leave, but what happened to race cars on race tires and street cars on street tires? That sure did make a lot of sense.
Having the lower powered race cars on sports tires (S2K race car, I believe the Lotus Elise too) made for some good racing, and it brings more skill into the mix. Driving those cars on racing tires made it too easy.
Overall, the change helped more cars than it hurt. Most of the lower PP race cars are a lot more fun to race now that they don't act like slot cars. A couple of the MR street cars take a hit but they're not undriveable and we're not going to assign a tire to every car individually. That's why people need to check the tire rules and test a car before choosing it for Sunday night. It also removed the need to designate all the borderline cars in the game as a race car or a street car and we made the change before any of those cars were chosen for racing on Sunday so making that change probably removed a four page "discussion" from the main thread.
