Pick what the winner feels is most comfortable to drive and all the others will adapt to the choice made during practice. Same for me when i picked the S2000 road car, fun to drive, too bad it didn't last longer than one week. Always fun to drive what is different.
tomorrow night I would love a nice big room. I'm down to the final 3 choices, now I got to see how they handle in the pack.

But for the most part at least get an idea of how it works in a group on track. That's what truly matters.

I'm off tomorrow so I can help brainstorm with you all day

Anyone interested in participating in the 2016 GTP Endurance Series? If so, please reply to this post so that we can get a headcount. @AJ would like us to field an official SNAIL team this time around, so please speak up if you're interested in being a part of that. Also, please state if you're willing to manage the team as well as race on it. Thanks in advance!

Ah man I'm in with DZ motorsports already! running GTE Am... Hopefully.

Come to think of it there are SNAILS all over the GTPES!

I hope SNAIL does get an official team.

I was in last year so count me in.

Hey, I thought it was unanimous that it was an easy car to drive, as most if not all the GT300 cars are. My bad for assuming such things. We all know what assuming does...
Hey DP ....no hard feelings just "assuming"

hey team, i've been inactive for a bit, request to rejoin.

@basswerks1

Here's your official SNAIL RE-Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add @CoachMK21, @JLBowler, @nmcp1 & @zer05ive as participants. The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing club. Sunday races are organized exclusively through the GT6 Community features within the game.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread. If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

@Nail-27 and a few other SNAIL/Ex-snails ran together last year, and are planning on doing so again this year. If the classes they run next year don't allow me to drive for them, I'd be interested in driving for Snail. Of course, when there isn't real racing going on ;)

I would like to run in this, Zer0.

I recently contacted Thrustmaster about service concerns before I purchase a T300 wheel. If anyone is interested, I've put the conversation in the spoiler. Pretty generic response that didn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. The G29 may be in my future.

My original message:

Hello, I'm in the market for a new racing wheel and your T300RS is the ideal candidate for my needs. What worries me is the reported lack of support if your product fails. I sim-race in an online league and am part of a large community. I have heard first hand about the difficulty in getting an broken wheel repaired or replaced. There seems to be slow responses to inquiries, repeated attempts at troubleshooting that drag on for weeks, and then finally a very slow and expensive (shipping costs) turnaround once the wheel is serviced or replaced. Has Thrustmaster made any recent changes to address these issues? Are you working to streamline the warranty process? Customer service is very important to me, and Thrustmaster's reputation is not great right now. Thank you, I look forward to your response.

Thurstmaster's Response:
Regarding your T300RS.

We thank you for your interest in Thrustmaster products and for reaching us regarding your inquiry.

The RMA processes are all standardized and the time frame may vary from situation to situation depending on various factors, like: delivery time (which is the given by the speed with which the courier service is delivering the parcels), nature of the problem encountered with the unit, etc.

Another fact is the amount of work with the technical service. All cases are processed in line of arrival - there are no priorities - and consequently a repair procedure can vary from a few hours to several days.

We are constantly trying to improve the overall aspect of our technical service but controlling all these factors is very difficult.
We rest at your disposal for any other inquiries.

Thrustmaster Technical Support is at your disposal for any other information you may need. You can reach us online at the following addresses:

Even with all that I would still buy a thrustmaster over another logitech. Logitech lost my respect when they pulled that crap last year.

From the few people I know that own both if these wheels, the response has pretty much been that the new Logitech is a better wheel. I too was leaning towards the t300 after Logitech seemed to make no improvements over the last gen wheel. I don't know if it's software improvements or what but with some real world comparisons happening I'm on the Logitech side of the fence now.

Do you think it's been long enough for us to try Ascari again? It needs a fast car to get a ~2:00 lap so we get at least 5 laps, a decent race length.

You do realize that every Steward that was "working" the last time we raced there spent countless HOURS on IRs? Maybe it should be mandatory that if you choose Ascari as your track, that you have to review every IR that is filed that week. Do you still want to go back there?

Agree because of how tiny the room of error is in those small chicane turns even myself got IR's for not going off accelerator going through the turns.

Here is the steward report from the last time Ascari was used. Hopefully that is the last time it is ever used on a Sunday night.

As an added bonus, here is the post that doomed us to that fate.

Okay gents. I am the prize A winner this week.

For your racing pleasure, I have selected a quintessential example of German engineering, and a car never before driven by SNAILs in anger. It has a linear power curve; a large torque plateau on the second cam; and, most importantly, near 50/50 weight distribution. No more cars that either handle corners like a rocky mountain dump truck or try and kill you every time you take your foot out of it.

The car is the M3 GTR '03. [496 PP (post-oil change), 1489 kg]

We will be racing this auto of the Fatherland at Ascari. I know that it is a bit intricate, but take some time to get to know it, and you'll find it as rewarding and raceable as I do. They're not going to throw Alberto's name on just any old ribbon of tarmac.

Sorry it took a little longer than normal. I spent a lot of time trying a bunch of different cars and tracks. I hope it was worth the wait! See you on the track.

Iceman
