It's been a week since my accident and my chest still has some pain during deep breathes and coughing. Should I go get it checked out yet or still normal body shock?
When I got hit in the ribs in karting I couldn't breathe, I hit my head a few times during the race and could manage to breathe till the end. I still went to the hospital for a check, but no bones were broken, just body shock. Probably 50KM/H T-Bone still isn't the same type of shock as your car getting T-Boned. Try hitting your chest?

It is entirely normal to be sore a week after a major car accident. Your body went through a major shock, and likely has deep bruising at the very least. The main concern is if you have worse than just bruising, and perhaps have cracked ribs or even fractures...but at least in my experience, that was a lot more painful than what you seem to be describing. Regardless, they usually don't do much for cracked ribs or even broken ones anyway.

Did you not get checked right after the accident? If you develop any long-term problems having documentation of your initial condition can be very important. I waited months before seeing a doctor, and that delay resulted in a major problem for me when fighting insurance later.

Yea I didn't go anywhere at first because I thought it was just shock and would go away in a few days. Most of it did. I also don't have health insurance at the moment. I've never broken or fractured a bone so I wouldn't know if it's that but it's probably not like you said. The pain would be much worse?

Still hurts a bit. I'm kinda hoping Coach or some real world racers have some good info

I've never been in an accident with any amount of force, so I'm not much help there. When my cousin rolled the Volvo at Watkins Glen, he didn't have any real issues. You also must consider that in a race car you are strapped in much better than in a street car. The 5-point harness we have keeps you in the seat. A standard street car seat beat system allows a lot of body movement, which only makes some injuries worse. As an example, my Dad was in a head on collision and the seat belt broke his sternum. He had been in racing accidents, hard ones at that, but that was the worst crash of his life. Mostly because of the poor seat beat system.

EDIT:
But to get to the real point, you should probably see a doctor. If you don't have insurance, well, I guess that might cost you, but you certainly don't want to have something pop up later in life that was avoidable/treatable.

I'm no doctor but hitting yourself where you may be injured just seems counter productive to me.
That would be like telling Ronda Rousey to punch herself in the face to see if it still hurts!!!
lol you don't have to hit your self hard. even just pressing on the rib cage will tell you if anythings broken unless you are totally numb to pain. Also he's french they have an amazing medical system I'm jealous of how good it is!

You know Dp I am a walking trainwreck ,they took bone marrow in large 4 inch holes in my hipps to make a bone in my leg .Yes I am handicaped by law but to ask the people I work with they say you could never tell .Broken arm many times with a replacement elbow .Broken ribs many times also a short stay in texas in traction for back injury ,dang plastic seats ha ha .So the glory of racing accidents is very jadded .But as your question of pain yes that is normal even at your age and if you smoke all detirmines how fast or if you heal .If you sit down and cry about your pain that is where you will stay .The best medicine is to keep on moving if it just breathing exercise keep going .You will forget the pain and you never know getting past the pain and adversity will take you .Sometimes it can make you a better man .

I would go get checked out bro. And go to a real doctor at that. No med service/emergency care. When I tore my plantar fascia they misdiagnosed it as just a sprain. It never healed properly and a few years later I broke my foot again and ended up with a collapsed arch due to lack of support there. Now I'm flat footed on one side and can no longer do much athletic without extreme discomfort and possibly more damage.

Holy smokes Pub that sounds like a lot of injuries. Was that all from 1 incident or multiple? I recall seeing you in a go cart. Did you have a long career in carting?

Dp - you may even be able to consult with a doctor at no cost- check out doctorgratis.com

Did you complete the time limit and let the game take you back to the lobby? I ask because it's not showing up on the club page that you have completed it.

Maybe i did something wrong. I saved the settings, loaded up the time trial and under the community page for Snail Spec Racing, i did the Tokyo TT with the BMW. I did save the replay to it. Shows my result for the TT round 2 that i did. Which one i need to do or where you want me to send the replay?

I'm looking for the "new driver time trial" It's at Laguna Seca. I just looked and your BMW time trial is there.

You go pub! And yes virtual drivers receive fewer injuries however I have formed a pretty nice callus on my right hand from the steering wheel and sometimes my foot gets sore from pressing on the plastic gas pedal, although I fixed the latter by padding the pedals. lol
And where else can you go barreling down the straight at 200 mph, reach over , take a sip of beer and slam the brakes to take the turn....
