What is the point of this testing?
GTPES VW fun cup
 do it ! I think there's only a handful of cars that can make it without a serious detune.. I'm a try and make it, birdy 👍

..are you putting race tires on it? :ill:
I'll be running RM tires run what ever makes you happy. It will be low HP but any car that can get in. It set to above my 90hp limit as you can't actually set a room that low lol
Can I bring the Kubelwagen?? :dopey:

Go for it!

Sounds fun, I'll look into it for tonight.

I want to bring up the Thustmaster/Logitech discussion again. I'm getting a bonus check next week and thinking of upgrading my wheel. My options are either 1) bigger TV, 2) a PS4 w/ Fallout 4/Arkham Knight, or 3) new wheel/pedal set. The Logitech G29 is $100 right now so that with the gear knob is $360. The Thrustmaster T150 is $190 and the gear knob is $150. This adds up to $350 so it's comparable to the G29. Only thing I don't is if the gear knob will work if I don't also get the clutch pedal set. Does anyone have this combination? A Thrustmaster wheel and gear knob but no clutch pedal? Will it work? If so, it sounds like the best deal right now. I don't need to learn clutch shifting right away, the Thrustmaster gear knob looks better made, but the pedals I'm not sure about. Logitech G29 comes with the clutch pedal but it appears to be of a poorer quality than Thrustmaster. Can anyone has either of these sets provide some info on their build quality? Thanks, appreciate it.

I am also wanting to go from existing G27 to PS4 compatible wheel. Researching G29 and Thrustmaster (T300, I think) and I'm leaning towards Thrustmaster but really need some recommendations I trust. Come forth with the opinions. Master thesis also welcome!
:P

And I'm working on mine being compatible as well, just a bit different route than nmcp above. We decided to go these routes because of the principle of the matter and being forced to spend all that money on a new wheel.
I really like my G27 so I'm sure the G29 will feel just as good, but better, I doubt it as they are almost identical. The Thrustmaster issue is poor service if something goes wrong. I tried Lobban's T300 just before xmas and really liked it a lot, more than my 27. The pedals that come with it are not as good as the G27 so you get the Ricmotech adapter that allows you to use your G27 pedals. If you don't have the G27 pedals then you will need to buy upgraded pedal set from T-master to get the same quality and feel as the G27 pedals provide.
If you have lots of spare cash, then just buy the Fanatec stuff!

If you scroll down to the bottom of the page that nmcp has linked above, you will see my latest post in regards to what I am doing.

So the Thrustmaster beginner pedals aren't good. Being that I'm upgrading from a DFGT, The G29 sounds like a better deal. I'm checking the Logitech site for details on the shifter and it looks like it can't switch to sequential. It's H-Shift or flappy paddles. I've never done H-Shifting before. Will I become much slower?

I've heard the 150 is actually not too bad(and way better than the 80)for a starter wheel and from what I think you are coming from its a pretty significant upgrade. The 300 and g29 are a step up from there and I would say those two are comparable with each other

If I was coming from a DFGT then I would go the G29 route. The H-shifter is neat but you will be slower. It can be a bit finicky when shifting causing you to miss shifts....all the time.

Strangely enough when I tried PCars with the G27 I found shifting manually more engaging than GT6. (It may have had something to do with the superior engine sounds though :D) It seems PCars is not as forgiving with the paddles unless the car you're driving actually came with them in real life. In GT every car basically can come with a sequential gearbox and as fast as you click the paddle the gears will follow. In PCars clicking the paddle seems to run through the motions of pressing the clutch, engaging the next gear and then letting off the clutch. It's not an instant gear change like GT. Again this is if the car your driving doesn't have a sequential box. If it does then it will select gears just like GT.

I only tune it for the Advanced level, but don't put on aids like SRF. For the beginner and intemediate levels, I use Snail settings. For the GT300 on Motegi I actually kept the SS tires on my Subi and still won easily.

I battled my butt off with a GT500 Supra on the Nurb. The faster I go, the faster the No1 car goes - loose by 3-4 seconds every time. At one point I gain 7 seconds on my previous best and still can't get first place - still 3 seconds behind. I changed to a Honda HSV base model and won on the first try in a slower time as with the Supra - explain that to me.

Also, on the nurb, when I cross the line my lap time flashes up as 6:40.xxx, but on the result screen my time comes up as 7:04.xxx

Ya wtf is going on there you cross the line at under 7 and then show up at over 7 min ++. What's going on there?

I'm not worried about PCars yet. Just upgrading for GT6/SNAIL. Maybe the Thrustmaster Shifter is better? It says it's mostly made of metal and can switch to sequential which is nice for race cars.

I do for added realism. If the car has paddles I will use them. Otherwise I have the sequential shifter on the DFGT. Thrustmaster's support system seems really bad though and that is a big deal. I guess I'll have to figure out how to use the H-Shifter or spend extra money on Thrustmaster and hope it doesn't break.

G29's shifter is bought separate also.

And how many cars that we drive in GT6 have a sequential shifter in them. That makes it no more real than using paddles.

True. However I don't think this is a realism battle, we can only take it so far. He just wants to use the most logical method of shifting of the options that he has. He still does need to take one hand off the steering wheel when using the sequential so that does somewhat recreate a similar momentary lack of control. I shift manually because in my head it seems more "realistic" or engaging because I need to be aware of my revs, even though I'm using my index fingers...

I'm hoping Pcars is better for shifting. I was expecting that when I got the G27 with H pattern, it would make shifting way better then my DFGT. It did seem more realistic but I found it to be so much slower than using the paddles. Also getting false neutrals seemed to be an issue. The only time I use the shifter is when I play a Rally sim, and even then not all the time.

Yea, it's realistic in that I have to take a hand off the wheel. And it's a shame that the DFGT shifter is more reliable/fun than the G27/G29 shifter. That alone makes me want to look into Thrustmaster

You could go the @nmcp1 and or @aerolite option with the G27. Works like this, you find a used or even new G27, spend another $25.00 apx. to make the wheel workable on PS4. Savings over $200.00 - $250.00.
With the money you are saving, you can now go and buy Project Cars at the PS store for only $12.00. That's right, it is on sale for only $12.00.
Now, you find a sale on a PS4, for $250.

REcap, A PS4, G27, and project cars.

One T150 / T300 or G29 with shifter and no new system.

Wish you good luck researching all the options.

Your LAP time is under 7 min, but total race time is over 7 min...because total race time is from when the lead car starts...and since you start last...your total race time will be lap time + apx 30 sec.

Wow no Joke. I wish FIFA cost 12$ Too

the sounds alone in PCars are probably worth at least the 12$

Where are these mythical sales on PS4 for $250? I can't find anything below $330USD, lowest price I have ever seen in Canada was $350 on Dec 26th, but now back up to $420.
The Logitech G29 is $100 right now
$100 for a G29?!? Where?

Sgeti got it right DP, baby steps toward your goal. I love my T300 with the G27 pedals and just today ordered the TM t3pa pedals. No issues at all with the wheel. As for a shifter, meh, paddles work for me. Waste of money.

Also , nah, nothing else.

I bought a Ps4 recently at Target using the following "stack" coupon method.

Create an account on target.com. Then create a registry and add PS4 to it.

Baby registry takes 1 day to get the coupon. Wedding registry takes 3 days. Both coupons are for 15% off.

Then take the registry coupon, cartwheel app, 10% off, and red card to Target.

You need to make sure still works. Was a great deal at the the time. Good luck.
