Q C was in the same situation you were. He simply couldn't get back in. It's like PSN has cancer and its now terminal. It seems like it's getting worse. I decided to call into Playstation today to see if there was any information and possible solution to these network outages and random disconnects. ( I know I know its like calling a DR for help right after a ten car pile up)
I want to encourage everyone who reads this from snail to do call in and post in the forum link (that I will post here.) And file a complaint / inquiry as well as post about the issues we are seeing. Make sure you are specific to GT6 (and or any other games you might be noticing the issues with.) We want to try to specify the area of concern as much as possible so IF there is something that can be done about it. Then they will be able to do it.

It might be a long shot and it might not do anything. I feel however that we at least have to try who knows maybe we will get lucky and there is a fix for it in some way. sigh....anyways. here is the phone number to call playstation and inquire

Here is the forum link to post about the issues I recommend to call first then post so they can tie your call in with your post to give it more attention.

Here is my post on the issues we are having either add to it or post your own:
(try to be as specific as possible in regards to GT6 the more detail they have the better. And the more people complaining about it the better.)

title:

PSN random disconnects and incompatibility errors in GT6 online community play. What is going on?!?

I am trying to find some answers as to why the PSN netork at certain random times becomes unusable. We have noticed the issues while trying to play online with GrandTurismo6. This problem seems completely random but significant enough to completely shut down online playability.

The issue:
when you enter into the community online play and setup a room to race in. you will, at times when the PSN network is starting to glitch. Be kicked off of the PSN entirely. Or if you aren't signed out. you will not be able to get into rooms without first attempting to join countless times. Once in the room(if you are one the lucky ones) you won't be able to see some players and of course this will force you to have to leave the room and try again to rejoin. Which then starts the whole series of problems all over again. It seems very random and is happening to different people at different times and in different area's all over north america.

note*
we are in a league called SNAIL to summarize SNAIL is a racing league on the PSN. Hundreds or racers every week come together every sunday to compete in a friendly but competitive racing league.

These disconnections and random drops from PSN are constant and seem to be getting worse over the last couple months. I have posted in our SNAIL forums for others to also post their issues in there area's effected as well. It has become a big enough problem that I (and many others) feel something needs to be addressed if possible. Or at least some answer as to why these are occurring so often.

note*
Alot of attention to details goes into setting up SNAIL for clean smooth online play. We at SNAIL all understand to run a hardline while online. To clear the cashe in game and to make sure router traffic isn't an issue. We set up designated hosts for events who have better tthen average internet connections with respect to DL , UL , and ping ratings. All in an effort to avoid problems like the one currently mentioned above.

It would be greatly appreciated by hundreds of racers and peope alike im sure. If we could at least get some answers as to why the PSN network seems to almost shut down or simply stop working properly. The problem is constant and needs to be addressed or solved if at all possible.

Lets hope for the best and see if something can be done about the issues. Again I know this is a long shot but I feel like we have to try something. Because standing around watching this go on and on is maddening and getting old really fast!

I replied to your post. Thank you for taking the time to dig into the problem. I fear your time will be wasted, but agree that we need to at least let our problems be known.

I also posted a reply. I agree with Coach, we might just be farting in the wind...but what the heck if we fart enough we might just stink up the place
Tbh I saw a lot of hosts making the rooms fixed host and that will significantly bring down connecrion, but idk I'm no computer wiz

Pack Racing tonight. Because of the low numbers, will be running it as a public room in the Snail Pack Racing room. No points involved, low boost, lots of laughs.

I added my two cents into the PSN thread. I hope they listen and look into the issue.

One of these diagrams represents how connections work in a fixed host room and the other a non-fixed host room. Which of these diagrams do you think would provide more opportunity for network issues to rear their ugly head? Just pretend the dots and lines are the same size and distance apart for this example.

Well said. A definitely. Maybe we should start fixed host at least until all of this nonsense gets resolved.

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - Autobacs Garaiya GT300 Base Model '08 (Sports: Soft) at Autumn Ring / Forward (8 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @llNovall wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car '98 (Sports: Soft) at Nürburgring GP/F (5 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @o8_jedi gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @JamCar0ne so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.

Car Selection Guidelines
Dealership Cars - The maximum price for a selected car is now $1,000,000
DLC Cars - Only DLC cars that are FREE and currently still available in the PlayStation Store can be selected.

Track Selection Guidelines
Any non-DLC track can be selected as long as a single lap with the car combo'd with it would not take more than five minutes to complete. For example, don't select anything that includes the Nurburgring's Nordschleife.

Are you suggesting we go to a fixed room host for the time being? it might be the smart way to go. My only concern is the random drops that sometimes happen, despite having a strong connection setup.

Currently tracking 11 Incident Reports
We have at least one driver with a racing incident being investigated by the stewards that has the potential to change prize winners.

The target deadline for the Steward Reviews, this week, is Wednesday night by 10PM Eastern. The Steward Summary will be posted as soon as possible, following completion of reviews.
:@: SNAIL Stewards, please make your way to The Incident Review Scoring.
The IR Submission Form is now closed.

The Prize A winner, @llNovall , is clear to make his selection. The Prize B and C winners will need to hold off until the stewards can review some IRs.

Just waiting for gran turismo sport, this is what i've been doing..

Nice lap. Did I hear the sound of bodywork grinding on pavement coming down the corkscrews? That is something else..
If you get any footage of the C7R, I would love to see that. On Sebring if they've got it on this other game

Edit:
never mind I can google. Looks pretty amazing

You will need to make another selection. That car is over the current cap of 1 million credits. The new cap goes into effect starting with the March season. Your prize was won in the February season so you, and all prize winners this week are bound by the 1 million credit cap.

Here's a link to the original announcement.

10-4. I will have another option later today. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

would of been such a fun combo though

?? that doesn't make a lot of sense. If March is the start of the new 2 Million cap. And the first week of march starts March 6th. Why wouldn't there be a consideration to allow for the new rule change on $ amount for vehicle in this situation? What does this hold back serve to accomplish?

Trying to understand the logic here.

The answer is B. There is only one path to the host per each driver around the host and if that physical connection is interrupted, you are DC'ed.
