Time to get ps4 !
( Amazon has set gt7 release as 30 th December )

I wouldn't hold my breath on that. This is PD we're talking about here.

It's only GT Sport... not even GT7.... agree with nmcp... don't hold yer breath

PD has an interesting perception of "early 2016." What's late 2016?

Late 2016 is early to mid 2017.

That is what's known as a placeholder. It means little if anything.

It's marketing strategy. They're dipping toes to see how warm the water is and, if anyone is willing to jump in the pool with them before it even has water in it.

They longer PD takes to release a PS4 quality title, the more time the current "runner-up" has to close the gap in the areas it lacks. I'm afraid PD is risking blowing it with regards to market share if Kaz is set on "pushing the boundaries" with the time it takes to figure out how to do that.

Now at the same time you figure the developers will have MUCH time with the competition and understanding what the GT fans enjoy about that. They will have a great opportunity to see themselves right at the top almost immediately, but as I've said before, it's going to have to be SUPER amazing. The "competition" has fixed A LOT of it's issues and users are becoming ever more confident. If PD waits too long, they run the risk of not getting those fans back.

On the flip side. If PD waits long enough for people to get bored of the "competition" and looking for a new thrill GT7 would be the "fresh" new game on the block.

I can only speak for myself, but since GT6 was the first one I played, I have no real love for PD and don't feel any brand loyalty. If GTS and/or GT7 are worse than what we currently have (and Assetto will soon be available for PS4), then I see no point in going back to it.
Being able to run on the Sunday SNAIL series would probably mean more towards my decision than any type of love for PD.

HEY LOOK WHAT CAME IN THE MAIL TODAY!!!

I'm pretty excited....and maybe just a tad bit aroused

I will post some install pics later when I get it all set up.

Fair enough point. Although, I think there's more business harm than good in that equation. That's just my take though.

For me a true GT7 needs:

  • The physics that is equal or better than Project Cars in terms of realism.
  • Force Feedback traits equal or better than Project Cars.
  • Audio equal to or better than Project Cars
That's really about it though in truth. GT generally is superior in most other ways... Car List, Track List, user friendlyness, lobby/gameplay options etc.

Does your G27 shifter work with it? I'm really curious about that. I'd hate to be limited to only paddles.
I don't have a g27...this a replacement for my DFGT which never came with a ****er..
I do believe you can rig up your g27 ****er to work with the g29 wheel without too much fuss though..

Ah, I see. I'll have to buy shifter by itself since I'm also upgrading from a DFGT

A couple of things. First, I have reviewed the 7 IRs that I am able to review.

Secondly, I may have an extra G27 shifter laying around. Through two different return processes with Logitech, I ended up with two functioning shifters. I smell a SNAIL auction in the near future if there would be enough interested parties to bid.

Edit: A quick google search has told me that the shifter from the G27 will not work with a G29 on PS3 or PS4. Maybe someone will come up with a way to make it work as they did for the G27 wheel.

RoC February 2016 is happening this Friday. All qualifiers for the race please make your way over to the RoC thread to check details and if you haven't done so already confirm your availability for Friday night.

I will open a RoC practice room tonight so we can dust off the tracks we will be racing.

I know it's been a while since I raced and I can say I really miss racing with my fellow Div. 4 friends. I may be back early next month as I will be going back to days. I'm hoping that by tax day the shift change will be complete and I will no longer have to work the night shift. I just wanted to say hello to the regulars in Div. 4 and hopefully soon I will back on the track.
