Its a minor deal with the promise of being able to use it in its full form later. I only ever used the clutch on the g27 when I was messing around.

What promise to be able to use it in full later? I don't want to use the clutch, just manual shifting.

On ps4 titles. What good is a gated shifter if your not going use the clutch? Trust me, if you use the shifter, youll want to use the clutch. Full immersion

I have literally never used a gated shifter before in my life. It would be nice to have an easy mode for while I learn the muscle memory on my right hand before trying to use three pedals with two feet.

Also, yea of course on PS4. I thought you meant updates to the software later or something. Project Cars is gonna be awesome when I get the wheel.

You could with gt6...shifting through the gated shifter without the clutch....but its soo much more realistic when your banging the gears using the clutch. Youll see.

Okay, thanks dude. Now Nova, how is the G29 shifter compared to real life?
Generic. In a real car, you can usually feel or sense the feel of the gears being changed. Also, the clutch is like an on/off switch with the g29 and game. In real life, the let out and engagement of the clutch especially from take off is gradual. Your best bet is to round up a friend who has a manual and see if he'd be gracious enough to let you have a go at it. Only then could you experience what the real deal is all about. The g27 and g29 does the best it can to simulate the technique, but is very far from how an actual manual gearbox and clutch feels like.

I second this. For one person (me) all we have in the family driveway is manual cars. And it is different from car to car. The bite point of the clutch is different shift speeds and when to shift is different. But once you do learn it is very fun to drive. Until you try to get out of the high school parking lot.

But what about those that don't have $hells? They never get a chance. It should be a random lottery excluding those already in the contest.

I'm not talking about me specifically. I'm just too lazy to go through the process to earn $hells.

"Share the wealth" right DP?

Such a shame that the chance to receive free equipment is limited to people that "work" for their opportunities. What do you think this is bro, America?

Trickle down theory. Since the 1% have so many $hells, we should start a program in which we send the $hells we earned to those who are less fortunate. Sound familiar?

This seems to also apply:

Hmm.. I always thought the reason for not feeding wild animals was so that animals wouldn't start approaching humans as a reliable food source.

And yes I get what you are saying

I thought I was having nightmares! Good speed with the GTO.
It's the track, I have a lot of time on it thanks to GTPSS. I'm just driving it like I'm in that car lol

Edit: And that like by coach concerns me because he's my team mate lol who also has more practice them me!
Granted X took out 2 people last night me included lol

As of this post, here is the current list of the ButtKicker Challenge IV picks. If you are a finalist, please read the instructions and terms and conditions of the contest that I have sent to you. Once you are authorized to make your numbers selections, click the 'Reply' button below and then add your GTP Username next to any numbers that are still available. Be sure that you don't make more picks than the number of picks you have earned. Once you're done making your picks, you need to delete the text above the ButtKicker logo (it looks like this: [qu0te="username, post: 1234567, member: 123456"]). After you've deleted that, hit the 'Post Reply' button down below. Please be sure that you are replying to the most current list before making your picks. Good luck!

What promise to be able to use it in full later? I don't want to use the clutch, just manual shifting.
DP. Using The h pattern without the clutch would serve little purpose. It would not add to realism as you would not do that in real life. Also I think (will check tonight) that simply shifting from 1 to second would trigger the requirement to use the clutch. You would then not be able to get the gear to register second until you took it back out of second, depressesed the clutch and put it into second again.

I love the h shifter and use it when I am having fun. But in competitive racing I easily loose a second a lap and that is assuming I do not miss a shift. Basically I would only suggest using it in a competitive fashion when everyone is using it like @zer05ive old stick shift event:)

It is done. Wheel and shifter ordered plus three year protection plan for $40. Worth it. Should arrive on Sunday so hopefully the set up is quick and painless. I'll have no practice and learning how a new wheel feels so I'll do my best to stay out of the way
