Hey guys. I'm interested in joining your league. I've been out of the loop with GT6 for awhile and just recently got back into it. My PS3 started having issues (would shut off after 10 minutes) and I did the quick potentiometer fix, so far no problems. I was active in the FMSC Spec Miata series a few years ago with R1600Turbo and Wardez if you're familiar with those names. Anyways, would love to join you guys. OP says to post here, thanks!

@SAMHAIN85

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add @CoachMK21, @JLBowler, @nmcp1 & @zer05ive as participants. The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing club. Sunday races are organized exclusively through the GT6 Community features within the game.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread. If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

Earlier today, I came across this graph and I wanted to share it with everyone here. Remember this the next time you ask someone who isn't an expert in the given area a question and they are 100% certain they are correct.

I'm trying to put the settings table together and it's still going to be a while before I will be reunited with my PS3. Can somebody please get me the following info:

Formula Gran Turismo: After Oil PP and HP and Lap Times on RBR?
WSR: Lap times on the streets of Willow?

Man you guys post a lot in 2 weeks!

I'm back from my 2 week vacation on the island. I did my part to ensure their beer industry is profitable
How quickly some folks forget. You had 14 pages to catch up on over a 2 week absence. :P

What about the cigar industry?

I would run races by myself to determine the lap count but I'm with you it should be 9 not 10 with the amount of crashing!

It should be done by using mid-division (so you work) best lap, not a test race. We know the opening lap is slower, but that's not considered when making the lap determination.

Maths not my strong suit so I would run clean races, If I crashed I would restart, if I went over 12 minutes I would restart, if I was under 11 minutes I would restart.

I was making do with the knowledge I had :) by myself I was easily under 12 minutes. When we did practice last night the D1's in the room couldn't break 12:00. for both races.

If anyone is also a fan of the Isle of Man TT course, someone has a Kickstarter going for a 3D laser scan of it here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1669324602/snaefell-mountain-course-3d-laser-scan

That would be glorious to drive.

To those that don't know the TT course, here's dozens of other tracks inside it for scale:

Just a reminder of what SNAIL considers to be spec racing when it comes to preparing cars. You'll notice that the last little bit of this states that you may not adjust any other settings. 8 things you can legally do to your car. If you go beyond that, you're not within the rules.

3.1

Tuning Prohibited in SNAIL means that you are not allowed to do anything to the car that changes it's performance in any way, shape, or form.

Below is a list of what you are allowed, or required, to do:

1. Change oil. (required as all cars must have the maximum allowed horsepower and PP)
2. Change tires (may be required depending on the car)
3. Change wheels. (see next section).
4. Paint wheels.
5. Paint body.
6. Add a number plate.
7. Rebuild motor.
8. Restore chassis. (note: only the restore option is legal, the add rigidity option is not legal according to SNAIL)

You may not adjust any other setting or replace / upgrade any other part of the car. If what you are thinking about doing to you car is not in the above list, don't do it. Only the 8 items listed above are allowed under SNAIL rules.

A couple things happening over on the Dark Side...

The Ruf has been replaced by the Scion FR-S. Its first visit will be to Donington Park National.

Also, as a test I invite everybody who has been saving their replays to submit clip data using THIS form. I will make a Season 10 highlight video using several of these submissions. There is no limit of clip recommendations so feel free to submit as many as you'd like. :) The greater the selection, the better the video 👍

  • Below are the S10R3 results. Nice Tuesday sweep @irmopars 👍👍
  • S10 Standings
  • S10R3 combo voting results
  • S10R3-onward schedule

You were there and old enough to remember it in '62? I wasn't even a twinkle in my daddies eyes yet as they say.

Haha.....I was 2! lol. Don't remember a thing....Our family of five went there on dad's Arial Square Four 1000 with a sidecar. Me and my younger brother with my mom in the sidecar who was pregnant, things certainly were different then. Oh, and we lived in the UK then.
