Questions: GT29 & GT-EYE Spring

The G29 brake pedal feels soft just out of the box - not mounted.
1) Is it better "in-game"?
2) Will the EYE spring fit;

Wondering prior to taking things a part.
Hey Tex, the spring will fit the g29, the only difference between the 27 and 29 is the colour of the tube under the pedals! It's worth getting.

Mine felt hard- very hard. I had to push the pedal through the floor to get full brakes and there was little pressure difference as I applied brakes. It seems better now in the two months that I have been using it, and it seems the pedal has physically loosed up a bit. It's easier to feel braking levels and I still have to ush relatively had for maximum braking, but not as much. I think - either that or I've become accustomed to it, but I am able to judge my braking better - I was gaming from the GT Driving force which has lots of travel and no feel. I am much happier with the G29.
Also, in GT6 I chose the drving force setitngs and there was a tuning option (I'd have to look it up) from which the most realistic option seemed to offer better feel than the other ones.

1) yes! Wayyyyy better. At least makes my racing experience better with braking control and better slowing down.
2) Yes

I bought a Nixem brake mod so I'm going to try that and see how it does vs the GTEYE 👍

Hope this answers your questions and helps 👍

This video was a couple years or so ago but shows you how to install it. (G25/G27 same pedal base as G29)

I have the g27 , never had or tried any spring mods and recently upgraded to the g29. I've found that the g29 pedal is quite different to the g27. The 29 is the same as the 27 in the first 2/3 or 3/4 or so and the there is a piece of rubber or something thats giving strong resistance for the rest of the pedals throw. It's taken a bit getting used to how hard you have to press the pedal to lock the brakes up. I think it's an upgrade to the 27 , just going to take some time getting used to it after being on the stock spring for so many years.

Yes, there is an annoying piece of stiff rubber in the brake spring for the G29. I haven't gotten the GTEye yet but just taking this piece of rubber out makes a HUGE difference.

Ya, forgot to mention that little chunk of rubber Logitech stuffed in there, I just laughed when I took it apart and saw that, must have added a huge cost to them, and the engineering department must have spent many hours coming up with that! Someone said they thought they heard that they had put the clutch spring under the throttle as well. Other than that, and the change of color, they are identical.
If you put a gteye spring don't bother leaving the rubber peice in there as you will hardly be able to get the pedal all the way down.

Ahhh, I understand now. Ironically when I bought the G29 I had hoped and well, assumed, that it had a progressive-spring brake pedal and so was a bit dissapointed when it didn't.
Thanks to @TEX36, @Ph1sher, @aerolite and everyone else for bringing this up!

Prize A selection....

Stielow Engineering Red Devil at Mid-Field Raceway (forward)

Dealership PP...585, HP...782
RH tires.

After oil change, PP...591, HP...818

I can't remember lap times, I'm thinking 1:09's and 1:10's for me.
Of course, that might not be correct.

3 tips on this:

1- Brake early
2- Control the throttle
3- Make sure your wheels are straight as you crest the final turn

What is the current update version of GT6?

Well we certainly didn't get what I was hoping for or the price point I was hoping for either lol. Thank you Jesus for having such a huge down payment on it or we would have had to pay out the butt for it. Its a 2017 Equinox awd ltz for the girlfriend to drive daily

I had an Equinox years ago when they first came out. It was a nice midnight purple or something like that, but it looked black in certain light. We got it on a lease for $88 a month for 2 years. We basically stole it at that price. Within those 2 years, the dealership actually went out of business and we turned it in to a different dealer when we bought my wife her 2008 Pontiac Vibe (which we still have and going strong).

My only complaints on the Equinox were, I felt it had a poor turning radius and it was difficult to spot cars off the rear corners. I'd like to think those are better now. Have fun!

I think I might open a ROC Practice room at around 9:00 PM Eastern Time tonight. Everyone welcome.

Look here for the Combos and other things
