I mean honestly this is how they earn money now. Almost every game does this, some even go to the extent to give you visual in-game items for a whole lot of money. This is an example:

They sell in-game items which don't affect gameplay in any way, only visual. That's not in-game money btw, they are selling that item for 144.99€. Some "skins" go up to 2000€ (2250$)

My friend is one of them, I don't know why people buy these "skins", some may look nice but it's not worth over 100$ for a "skin".

Was thinking about this whole GTS delay some last night and what it feels like to me is, they didn't hit some threshold for pre-orders and they just said "fine, not enough people want it, we'll make everybody wait another year."

So after not being able race at madrid due to the track surface not loading, i finally bit the bullet and downloaded the digital version. I have spent all day yesterday and most of the morning downloading and installing and updating. Hopefully by tomorrow night i can play this stupid game for once. I am about ready to throw my ps3 on the curb and go back to a simpler time with my genesis and super nes when i could just turn it on and play. Im at my wits end. Serenity now!!!!

The point of a thread is to discuss the singular topic of said thread. Anything other than that is, obviously, off topic. While the staff for the most part leaves you guys to it, as aluded to here:

If no off topic is allowed, [snip] the mods will need about 15 months to clean up that SNAIL thread....

There is, however, a vast different between off topic conversation and discussing illegally smoking marijuana. Hence the deleted posts.

It's kinda always been treated like that. It's not so much the grey area of "off-topic", as it is the black/white of the said topic that is clearly defined as unacceptable. I get it.. although TB's initial post was a bit more ambiguous as to the fault IMO. But it's better understood now.

I know there is a dedicated section for motorsport but it's not as active as this single thread (and isn't that amazing?) but that leads to me to ask, can we discuss real world racing and general automobile news in this thread or should it go in the General Discussion thread? Correct me if I'm wrong but I feel those are okay here, and anything non-racing world related should go in the General Discussion thread. Basically things going on in your own person life that you'd like to discuss or general world news, etc. Anything not related to cars in general?

Why not use the myriad of threads that already exist throughout gtplanet for each topic you desire? Why isolate yourself to solely snail members when there exists an entire community that may share your interests or thoughts?

Because they aren't always as active and I know you guys? This is our corner of GTP. I go there too but when they're slow I like to discuss here too.

Personally, I think the General Discussion thread should be deleted as it has little to do with SNAIL.

There is an Off-Topic section at the top level of this forum for discussions not racing related.

I don't you know about you, but I thought that's what the SNAIL Racing League was all about.

We also maintained a good community before SNAIL and I dare say we'll be about for a while yet.
