So Best Buy has the G29 for sale @ $200.... as of this post it's available on the website but that's hit or miss. My local store has a few in stock .... question for the masses.... take the plunge and replace the trusted G27 with what is essentially the same wheel... or wait for wait for something that will probably be completely out of my league! Decisions.....

I'd say wait if your not playing on ps4.

Guys there's another cheaper solution if you guys wanna keep the G27, it mimics the G29. I'll have to try it at home and put up a video if it works really well.

It's called gimx, like I said though I'll have to try it out though

I already have a Gimx module made up and fully functioning. It's works beautifully but does require a fair amount of additional hardware and complexity. If I didn't have the G27 already working with the PS4 the G29 @$200 would have been a great deal. Doesn't matter now as the deal is over. 👍

What is more important now is that you get your a$$ back behind whatever wheel you have and return to racing with us as soon as possible!

I was waiting for one of those posts...:( I'm trying but this whole work thing is really, really getting in the way. As I type this message I'm currently working from home, and will be for the next month, but where I'm sitting in my basement I can see my rig all covered up and looking quite sad... chair and wheel under the beige sheet; TV under the pink. I'm almost afraid to wake them up after so long... :nervous: Soon hopefully!

If I found the time and motivation to get back to racing then you can too. Even though my first night back was pretty much a disaster, it felt good to be back.

Me and nmcp were both playing around with the GIMX stuff at the same time. I tried both routes, pc and Pi, if you scroll down the page that nmcp linked, you will see my posts with both, Pi is second one. I eventually sold my G27 and got a 29.
I still have the GIMX Pi version if someone was interested in purchasing it.

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - Audi R8 4.2 FSI R tronic '07 (Sports: Soft) at Red Bull Ring (7 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @MajorBlixem wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - Toyota 2000GT '67 (Comfort: Soft) at Willow Springs International Raceway - Streets of Willow Springs (7 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @src_ej6 gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @Kgffy so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.

Mike you son of a bitch where have you been?

Migraines man...Migraines.. But I have a neurologist appointment tomorrow and I'm optimistic that he will give me some good news and offer some sort of solution.

On another note I took advantage of bestbuy today and ordered myself a g29 that will be here next week. Figured I need to get back into the flow of things any way and quit avoiding racing.

Currently tracking 3 Incident Reports
We have at least one prize winner with a racing incident being investigated by the stewards. This may, obviously, change the order of the prizes to be selected. Prize B and C winners are asked to refrain from making selections until clearance is given.
The target deadline for the Steward Reviews, this week, is Wednesday night by 10PM Eastern. The Steward Summary will be posted as soon as possible, following completion of reviews.
:@: SNAIL Stewards, please make your way to The Incident Review Scoring.
The IR Submission Form is now closed.

@MajorBlixem is clear to make his prize A selection.
@src_ej6 @Kgffy you are in a holding pattern until further notice.

The conversation will be created shortly.

Edit: Correction. Due to the quick work of the stewards, all prize winners are clear to make their choices.

FWIW, I have a G29 and am loving it on my PS3. Of course it was an upgrade from a Driving Force, not a G27.

Keeping our fingers crossed for you @Adramike - hope to see you on the tack soon with that G29.

I hope you find some relief soon man.
Migraines everyday is a tough way to live & produce.

I've been there, but fortunately it only lasted 5-6 weeks.
It felt like I had been blessed when they finally stopped bothering me

Did you also take the rubber piece out of the brakes? And did you get the shifter for Project Cars?

Nope, I haven't modified it at all. I considered it, but I seem to be doing well with it in so I am going to leave it for now. I did buy the shifter - I figured if I didn't I would regret it later.

Mmmm, mmm, mmm. Now THAT's a sexy picture @TomMang_68

It's a nice change. Without that pad you can reach 100% braking power more easily and you still get a lot of resistance so driving with no ABS is very easy. So many cars in Project Cars don't allow ABS when using "realistic aids" so this helped me to reach full braking power without locking up as much or not braking enough when I thought I was and therefore being easily out-braked.

Yeah, the G29 took some getting used to the brake feel, but it seems to be coming along for me. When I first got it, it took an unreal amount of force to reach full braking, but it seems to have broken-in to where I don't have to literally stand on it for 100% and I can judge pretty well if I am full or just 'dragging the pucks'. I may consider it when it comes time to convert to Pcars or the next GT.

Nice, I have all the hardware needed to build gimx, I wanted to build one with the cheapest solution out there (Pi zero) but I didn't know there was snailers in the group who messed with gimx also.

Nice thanks GT, I'll have to look at it, I'm still debating if I should upgrade it in the future
