Supper great racing in the D1-D4 practice room tonight, had a whole lot of great races!

even though I had to use automatic transmission and only my right hand to steer it was great!
And so you know, I broke my left arm in two places when my bicycle suddenly slammed to the concrete one month ago.

I am sure that I am being dumb here ,and it is easy to see with all our data and combo history .
But is this not the longest lasting car or at least tied with it ?
Nice pick by my friend matic :)

The Merc is now on for the 4th week.

Top 10 appearances. (Some had multiple streaks)

Yea that is very very cold.

I have decided to go on a road trip. Dec 26-29, Long Island to Virginia. Hopefully it's not snowing but if there is typical winter weather, what essentials should I bring that I wouldn't normally think of?

Blankets, water, snacks, small shovel, kitty litter and keep your car at least 1/4 tank full in case you get really stuck you'll still have heat.

Don't forget to bring chains for your tires, some places require you to have them when driving in snow

It's illegal/not safe to carry fuel in your car it must be outside. I don't have a way to strap it to the back. And pretty sure chains aren't required where I'm going, that should be fine. About kitty litter, I heard using the floor mats works well too so I have both.

I need to make a basic first aid kid. Good thing is this is all just in case there's a snow storm and/or I'm stuck somewhere like a parking lot at the one rest stop I make. I plan to bring an unflattering pee container so I don't have to stop just for that. The car only needs to stop for gas once and to be honest that fill up doesn't need to be a full tank even though it might as well be. Trip is 370 miles and my tank goes roughly 300 miles. I have the wiper fluid topped off with de-icer level stuff. I've heard to change my oil for a thinner oil but is that necessary for a single trip? I'm not even half-way to my next scheduled oil change.

What else can you guys think of?

I wouldn't worry about the oil. Just continue to use what is recommended. Other items to consider bringing:

- Flashlight with extra batteries
- Flares
- Emergency orange triangles (hazard warning)
- Car charger for your phone

I don't think I have working flares :( They say November 1999 on the side.

I have this great device that works as a car charger, flashlight (with pulse/flare setting), and cables to jump start the car on my own. My phone of course has a flashlight but I should bring a dedicated one as well. This way I can set up the device as a flare and still have a light on the situation. Ideally the only thing that happens is a flat and I have to change that in the dark. If it's dark that means I'm close and it won't be that far on the spare. I also have one of those "Ol' Brooklyn Lanterns" LED lantern light. It's not crazy bright but it's something. More lights the better. Should I get a converter so I can plug normal house outlet plugs into the 12V charger?

Yeah it was -29 felt like -40 with wind chill factor here. Hardly a drop of snow though, wish I'm not happy about, haven't been able to get the sleds out yet.:banghead:

A mid-winter road trip from Long Island to VA? What's her name? ;)

But seriously - travel safely and have fun.

My Subaru is a six-year-old snow almost virgin. The only time it saw snow was some very slick hard pack near Durango Colorado one night. It did fine crawling along on summertime tires at 15mph...

I sure don't miss New Mexico winters with 20F and 30 knot winds... FTS.

Credit card, AAA Card, fill up when you get around half a tank (no surprises..). Avoid rush hour on the Beltway 7-10 am, 4-7 pm+).

If you get a dusting, you will be fine. If we get more than 4-5" then there are few plows, and you may be semi-stuck for a day. You should be at your destination by then.

The rest of the suggestions given are good, but sound more like prep for driving to Alberta than for heading south a few hours.

I was talking about your gas tank, not carrying a 5 gallon jerry can. :banghead:

Anyone know what the top time at cape ring was the other day during the practice?

And also the time trial settings for it are messed up.
I ran 1:31.902 last night and there's more left.
