Combo Suggestion:

Lamborghini Reventon '08 @ Mount Panorama

Just the thought of those temps makes my face hurt. It was around 7C today, but 2 days ago it was about -15C. The RX7 only gets on the road when there is no salt and we had a bunch of rain yesterday. Temps will drop back down again soon though.

Ferrari 365 71 , at ascari on ss

A few things that could have been better or more correct here. There's no confusion or chance for misunderstanding so its a valid suggestion in that respect.

It should be as follows:

Ferrari 365 GTB4 '71 @ Ascari Full Track on SM tires

HE SAID A DIRTY WORD!:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:,,,,,,,ASCARI!:D:D:D:D:D

Yes. Yes he did.

May I suggest the ....

Mercedes Benz 300 SL Coupé Chrome Line on SH Tires @ Mid-Field Raceway / Forward (should be 8 laps)

See next post for the graphics

I propose the Ferrari 458 Italia '09 at Autodromo Nazionale Monza

Ferrari 365 71 , at ascari on ss. Corrected to: Ferrari 365 GTB4 '71 @ Ascari Full Track on SM tires

Combo Suggestion:

Lamborghini Reventon '08 @ Mount Panorama

I suggest the RUF BTR @ Apricot Hill Forward.

@msgt-sd , These are you choices. I trust that you will get something chosen quickly.

Why I live where the weather makes my face hurt!

I grew up in Colorado and didn't mind the winters too much, but when I lived in New Mexico they were horrid. Not much snow, but bitter cold and never ending wind that left me with constant cracked fingers.
I will gladly tolerate the odd 6" centipede for the lovely warmth, smooth fingers and the odd bikini in the sand.

Do the fast drivers still leave ABS=1? I'm having trouble with getting the car to turn in on tracks like Silverstone on those flat high speed right turns (turn 1, 9, and sometimes 15). I understand to get maximum turn-in grip you sometimes have to trail brake to get the weight up front, but often times the car just won't rotate for me and it understeers until the speed is slower than if I had just done all my braking ahead of time and coasted through the turn. I'll be scrubbing speed with my foot on the braking waiting for the car to rotate, while faster drivers brake later, come up my rear end fast, have better turn in, and can just power around me while I'm still trying to get the car to turn. It could be the tire model, that offers more grip at the start of your turn, but quickly fades? I don't know. It's something that has always plagued my driving, especially at Silverstone with its flat corners.

I don't believe ABS affect trail-braking at all, that's just a matter of retaining an amount of pressure to keep weight on the front tires. I tried going non ABS for a week or so, it seemed to help a bit at Tsukuba, but in the end I wasn't any faster with or without it (but I'm not one of 'the fast guys) I decided I liked having ABS 1 better because for me that little confidence equaled speed at other tracks. (and to answer the question, yes I know a few of the fast drivers are 0ABS)
I know upgrading form my older DFGT wheel and pedals to the G29 helped my brake feel and trail braking abilities a lot. Trailbraking was very difficult with the DF.

@GTLehman I just upgraded from DFGT to G29 as well, but unless I'm in a FWD car, braking more mid corner should always induce some amount of oversteer. It seems like the fast drivers throw the car into the turn with a simultaneous brake/turn action. This gives the tires up front insane grip and it works, but you have to time it just right. If I am more cautious and build pressure a little slowly on the brake pedal and wait for the moment where there's enough front grip to rotate, it never happens. The car just plows no matter how hard I brake. It's like there is a split second time frame where the tires are cool and give you that edge, but after that it's gone and you end up cooking the outside front tire with too much steering angle.

Bolded, italicized, and underlined the most important part of trail braking. Anyone can trail brake, few can trail brake correctly. I find it much harder to do in gt6 than real life in my Formula Vee. Mainly because I can feel the weight transfer, unlike in game. Like anything in a video game, you rely on visual cues to try and make sense of what's happening. Very tricky

I personally use ABS 1 and sometimes none. A lot of getting the most front end grip is trail braking, but also being in the right gear at the right time. At Silverstone there are some corners where you want to downshift before or during the corner or shift up before you've reached track out. In that McLaren you have to keep your foot a little in the gas at all times to really get it to sing through the corners too. I'll be on later tonight to try the new combos, I can do a few laps in the McLaren to show you what I'm doing as far as when I'm shifting and stuff if you want.

Thanks src, I watched you the other night and cued into some early shifts. I was trying that myself beforehand just so I could put more throttle into the car without spinning but watching you helped firm up how early I should shift. I also saw the quick downshifts which may also aid braking power, I need to work that into my lap a little better.
