Maybe the Sunday Night layout needs some changing to spice things up again?

Nooo, I'm not suggesting that. If aint broke why fix it comes to mind. And seeing how successful this league has been over the years I dont think anything needs to change. All I'm asking is if we can wave the SNAIL banner in another section of the forum in hopes more people will see it and join. I dont know how long SNAIL has had its own dedicated subforum, but had I known about SNAIL during its inception in '11/'12, I would've joined in a heartbeat. I just never saw it. This is exactly the type of league I've always been looking for.

I don't think there has ever been a restriction on recruiting for SNAIL. If you want to go into the wilderness of public rooms and find the good ones, it's all good.
As a retired Sunday nighter, I can tell you that it's simply because better games are out there. Once to league moves to a 4 game, I'm back in, in a heartbeat.

I know my live stream has gotten a decent number of people interested over the years..

There were 57 drivers that raced at least once in the Jan. season with 14 of those currently on D2 along with 2 new drivers. Maybe instead of looking for new members, we should be asking why those that have raced recently, did not race this week.

I have a few theories but they are just based on years of observation so I'll keep them to myself. I am open to hear the ideas of others on the issue.

Are we allowed to advertise SNAIL in the online GT6 subforum here? Or does anyone have any ideas to increase membership and exposure? While there have been a couple new members that have joined lately, it seems like once active people are no longer active. D2 only had 5 drivers last night. When I host a practice lobby I keep it public and use the lobby title "SNAILracing.org for more info." And I know a lot of people have moved on from PS3/GT6 which is probably the reason why there are no longer 7? full divisions. Itd just be nice to have 10+ drivers across all divisions on Sundays.

I joined SNAIL before clubs were created and open lobby is all there was. Seemed there was always a SNAIL Combo practice room open whenever I was scrolling the list of rooms. This lead me to do a google search on SNAIL GT6 and I landed here. Since the creation of the club, these open lobby practice rooms no longer exist and that branch of exposure has gone down. It is my experience an open lobby room gets more random traffic than a public club room. This may be partly due to public club rooms not showing up when you tick the 'show friend rooms only' option in open lobby, and there are people who don't understand club rooms and avoid them. What if we hold some of the random practice rooms through the week in open lobby? But keep official Thursday night practice a club room.

Indeed it has. Your stream led me right here to SNAIL, and I'm watching your VOD from last night on my lunch break.

Wow I never would've guessed that high of a number. Maybe it was just an "off" night. I mean I'm guilty of going inactive myself, so I can understand if people are taking a break.

Thats a good idea Jam, never thought of that. You're right, maybe people get freaked out that its a club lobby.

The answer is No. It's definitely possible if you're not on 9 laps old tires.
I recorded the replay in MPH.
1:11.058 Lap

Video is a little blurry.. not sure why.

Sector 1 is Spot-on :P

Wow you didnt even lift for the first 2 turns! Impressive lap Nick. 10s are definitely possible watching that, and anyone that raced last night will appreciate that lap time.

Oh and you forgot to blur out @Rednose58
Dont worry red, everyone knows you were just doing some routine maintenance on the inside guard rail

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - KTM X-BOW R '12 (Racing: Hard) at Deep Forest Raceway / Reverse (9 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @CoachMK21 wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - McLaren F1 GTR Race Car Base Model '95 (Racing: Medium) at Twin Ring Motegi Road Course (6 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @racingchamp30 gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @SAMHAIN85 so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.

Track Selection Guidelines

Up until SNAIL got its dedicated sub-forum, on or about 31 July 2015, the main SNAIL thread, and several other SNAIL series threads, appeared up and down this list, https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/board/gt6-clubs-leagues/. Since the sub-forum was granted, SNAIL is always at the top of it. Always. The folder will turn yellow when there are new posts, in any of the sub threads, since your last logged in visit.

If someone clicks https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/find-new/2689115/posts which is reached by clicking the Forums tab at the top right of the page, then the Recent Posts button on the left, any and all active SNAIL threads will appear throughout that list as the latest post ages, depending on your sort preferences that is.

There was a time, and it may still be going on, when SNAIL leadership actively recruited over PSN/GT.

The active driver list getting smaller is a result of GT6 and the PS3 aging out. Providing a PS4 racer will support the core concepts of SNAIL, I would expect SNAIL activity to increase after that game gets released and SNAIL migrates to it.

They still do, I've come across it a few times and turned some laps.[/QUOTE]

That is how i was recruited to Snail was getting a message on PSN itself and then i sent the message onto the forum here back in March 2013.

CONGRATS @CoachMK21 our D3 provisional winner. Well done sir...👍

When you win a prize. You gets an opinion.
Nonono. You got that all wrong. When DP doesn't win a prize we all gets his opinion. When he does win a prize we get his opinion. Difference is, when he doesn't win a prize, we're not obliged to pay any attention.

By the way, that results post has to be the earliest it's ever been posted on a Monday. Ever.

And in addition to that, Penguin also gives us his opinion about his own selection along with his regret over not picking something else when he had the chance.

I'm just full of opinions! Glad you guys have learned to only take 5% of it seriously.

I too was pleasantly surprised to see the results up that early. Good on ya @zer05ive

Yes, good on @zer05ive , but he can only post when all the duties are completed. That is: the scores and votes are in, replays uploaded and in the right folder, incidents for potential winners reviewed, and I don't know what else.

So, thank you to all the volunteers that completed their duties early this week!
