Oddly, the Ruf GT3 is a car that I really trail brake. I'm not sure at the moment of its exact weight bias, but the rear engine makes it drive much different than other GT3 cars. My favorite in terms of feeling "lively."
Well, the later models and especially the more extreme 911s like the GT3 have very wide tires which helps above threshold driving. Question for you, are you able to get consistant repeatable lap times trail-braking the 911s?

I am not knowledgeable enough about 911s, but over the decades Porsche has been engineering-out the old stigma of the widow-maker out of their cars by adding among other things more and more tire width at the rear. Is the RUF GT3 a newer model?

Let it be known that if I win the lottery, I would buy the new GT3 RS.....and no old 911.

Yes, newer model. And yes, repeatable lap times. Newer versions are absolutely a treat to drive compared to the older ones. Last night I was running laps at different courses with the CTR (Yellowbird) on Assetto Corsa. That car is a beast no matter what platform you're playing on.

I have it but what is Shareplay? How does that work?

Share Play is one of the most exciting features included with the recently release PS4 2.0 update. It allows two PS4 owners to play the same single copy of a game over the Internet. The console owner is designated the host, and is able to stream gameplay to another, guest console.

When i googled what is Shareplay, this is what came up.

I'm going to start playing PCars more often to get more familiar with it. I agree with Penguin, the bumper cam is too low compared to GT. I bought it used from gamestop or else I'd offer to "shareplay" it. But I do have the digital copy of asseto corsa. So if anyone doesnt have it and wants to try it just let me know.
I might take you up on that, thanks for the offer.

One is simply trying to continue a conversation, not ask for raw info.
Really?

I have it but what is Shareplay? How does that work?

So you implicitly ask for raw info, then when it's not wrapped in a pretty little bow you get butthurt. If you were "trying to continue a conversation" ask an open ended question. Not one with a cut and dry information based answer. Get over yourself.

Project Cars is much better with being able to tune your device (controller or wheel). However, I was a bit pissed my G29 didn't work well out of the box. I've tried a few different settings and each one is slightly better than the next, but why they didn't configure some of these as defaults for major wheels is beyond me. Controllers aside...
Give this a try on your G29 and see what you think:

I decided PCars and me will only be cockpit view with steering wheel turned off. Some cars have a bit of visibility problems, but it is amazing how quickly you adapt if there is no other option.

I Agee cockpit driving is the only option. Anything else is video gaming - not sim-racing. Real race drivers can't sit on the roof of their car to see the apex better. Just a personal opinion, but a strong one.

I used hood cam in GT6, but I made the same decision to go with cockpit view with no wheel in PCars right from the start. My TV screen is just under three ft away and I have it low enough so that the top of my wheel protrudes up into the bottom part of my view. This makes it sit as close to real life position as possible. The visibility out of the cockpit can be a bit challenging in some cars but it is close to reality so I deal with it. The only time I changed, was a few weeks ago we were racing the McLaren at HockenheimGP in a thunderstorm, the rain was so heavy I just could not see out very well so I had to race in roof cam. I did this mainly out of concern of not being able to see others.
The cockpit realism in PCars and Asseto Corsa is really great.

We have made a change to our SNAIL PITS series and are implementing it this week at the start of season 6. The race will be livestreamed by @Lessen (Wed night's at 9pm est). He is also acting as our live race steward and can implement warnings and drive thru penalties during the race and file IR's after.
So tune in if you are interested: https://www.youtube.com/user/Lessenjr

I've been using hood cam in PC but still use bumper cam in GT. It seems to keep your eyes at the same height as cockpit but without the wasted pixels and as mentioned above PC puts the bumper cam on the bumper, too low to be useful. I tried cockpit a few times, not my thing. When you drive in real life your eyes are focused way beyond what is right in front of you. The only reason I'd use that mode was if I had a multi-screen setup that could show me the side mirrors.

The other problem with GT6 cockpit view is the lack of world movement. It just feels static and it makes a difference for the level of immersion. I'm just glad bumper view has a rear view camera. I wish it was a simple on/off option like the track map. Same goes for the driver's list. Little things that should be customizable. PCars got that bit right.

Prize B Annoucement

I choose to FREEZE the RUF BTR '86 on SM tires. @Rob Brown, please find a nice track to take this beast of a car.
I love it RUF :embarrassed:. The RUFs are sooo much fun to drive. @racingchamp30 since you spanked all of us with this car perhaps you have a track to suggest? How about the track of last week's combo 2? First turn should be interesting!
