About that... Patch 2.0 came out yesterday and fixed a lot of the main issues. It's only been two weeks. People expect things to be perfect and with these kinds of games there are bound to hiccups along the way. Let's just be optimistic and hope they get it on track quicker than they did for the first one. What else can I say? I'm enjoying the hell out of it, bugs or not.

Now that the GT Sport demo gave us a preview of what to expect, and the start of our first GTSport season coming on quick, I felt it best to point out a few things that may be worth discussing within the BoD before we get too close.
1. I noticed there was no "tuning prohibited" option for custom lobbies unless I missed it. Is there a work around for this, or are we hoping it is included in the full game?
2. With the availability to run 24 drivers on a grid, will divisions be split up to support an entire 24 car grid, assuming full division attendance, or will we be capping the grid to 16 slots as we have always run?
3. And, with the above, if we do run 24 strong: how might that affect points?

I was going to send this via pm, but figured others might be interested in answers to these questions as well.

Looking forward to racing with everyone again.

1. I noticed the same and it's under discussion.
2. Short answer is no. 15 to 16 drivers has historically caused issues in a P2P based lobby. This was discussed early on and the consensus was that just because the game would allow it, going beyond 16 would probably not be advisable.
3. Rendered moot by the answer to #2.

Note that none of this is set in stone and everything is subject to change at some point based on future events.

This was posted a few days ago. Just posting it again to keep it more visible. As I see requests, those drivers are being added to the conversation. Sometimes I don't have access to the site to add for hours at a time so if I've missed anyone or just forgot to add you, either post here and tag me or start a conversation with me.

GTS Migration Announcement

Gentlemen, two conversations have been created in the last couple of minutes. The first includes all currently active drivers and gives a brief update about the migration to GTS. The second includes any drivers who are not currently active that have posted in the thread that they wish to join or return to active status for the launch of GTS. As drivers express their interest, they will be added to that conversation. Many updates will be provided via these two conversations so please keep an eye on whichever one you are included in.

Ive been loving the demo and cant wait for the full release. Not crazy about the new physics or sudden difficulty controlling cars on the pad but have been adjusting slowly. One thing that stands out is i am much slower in gtsport than i was in gt6. I have even recieved some hate messages directed at me from sport mode calling me a rolling road block and a slow piece of trash after the races. I really hope i can click with this game and find my pace again because right now its just sad back fighting for a top 20. How the mighty have fallen.

I think regardless of the origin of this particular thread, it does and has for quite some time served as the central gathering post for all things SNAIL, be it for Gran Turismo, Project CARS, PlayStation or whatever platform they could be used to promote the SNAIL core values.
I'd go so far as to say it's also been a place for some random daily banter as well. I still don't get why people have beef with Penguin. I didn't see anyone get on anyone's case here when they talked about their recent real life racing experience recently.
Reminds me of some play ground BS. Couple kids give someone a few light hearted jibs, but then that one jerk who always takes it to far comes along and makes everyone face palm.

In GTS there is a Balance of Performance option, which closes out all tuning with the exception of ABS,Differential balance(on 4wd),and (I believe) traction control. On a side note,,,,,
"In order to ensure fair racing for all, GT Sport will require an internet connection for the majority of functionality. This connectivity requirement is to ensure that progress, car availability and driver ratings are properly maintained at all times.

This doesn’t mean you’ll need PlayStation Plus though. As with all PlayStation titles, PS Plus will only be needed for the online multiplayer, portions of the Arcade Mode, including limited two-player split screen, single player races on select tracks and time trials can still be played offline."

Not sure if this means "all" online racing (such as we do with Private Lobbies) or just the Sport Mode, need some clarification on this else it may affect many of our SNAIL brethren.

Are there games that you can use the multiplayer on that doesn't require a PSN+ account? It's muy understanding that you need a + account to play multiplayer games, but not to do things like access plex or Netflix.

I turned on the BoP in the demo / beta for an online lobby and all the suspension and transmission options were still available to change. How did you get to a point where those options were locked out in an online lobby? All aids were able to be enabled or disables and there were multiple specific setting for in game penalties to be turned on or off. There was also no sign of clubs or communities in the demo / beta. It would be nice to know if all the features were in the demo / beta or if some things were held back. I guess we will have to wait until Tuesday to find out for sure.

This sounds a bit reminiscent of our switch to GT6...

...A link to the past. GT6 was released 2 days after that link, you can see what kind of questions and concerns people had back then similar to whats happening now

Edit: it says on Google it was released 12/9, but people are saying they have it already on 12/7 in the link, not sure whats up with that. But you get the idea.

Nevermind....released 12/5/13

I just tested the same thing after realising that the Tuning Prohibited option is missing from online lobbies. With BoP on all tuning options are still available, I'm able to change them all & still go to track. So, first Shuffle racers get shafted with the move from GT5 to GT6, & now those who like Tuning Prohibited Racing are getting the same treatment. That's a gamebreaker for me.

EDIT: Made a thread about it here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/no-more-tuning-prohibited-racing.361999/

From what I am reading, BoP is a more complex version of the PP system. Instead of using a static value based on the performance enhancements on the car, it apparently bases the value off of your driving ability. It tracks your driving and adjusts the weight/power ratio until it hits its perceived, optimally balanced car for whatever BoP level is desired. In theory, this would allow for a balanced grid of different cars. Effectively allowing for multi make spec racing if you will.
I have a feeling that in practice though, that this wont be the case, and that advantages will be found with certain cars running certain tunes. Even if the system is adaptive on the fly, if it takes 2, 3 laps to adjust, hot laps for qualifying could be seriously disrupted if someone decided to run some really bad laps prior to racing for the night.

Awesome!

That actually makes sense, and sounds much like the AI react to various drivers in the campaign mode.

Other than the above, which I've still yet to have much experience, everything else seems like a reskinned GT6. That's not a bad thing in itself, until you come to the logical conclusion that GTS is very much the same, except trading the updated graphics/processor of the new platform for the variety of cars and tracks we enjoyed in GT6. After spending a few minutes at the rig driving GTS, my initial reaction was a desire to turn it off and put on GT6 instead. I'll reserve the rest of my comments until after the full game releases, as perhaps they may be invalidated after Tuesday.
