Prize Winner Update

The stewards have completed enough reviews to confirm the prize winners for this week.

Prize B winner is @Adramike
Prize C winner is @BradESPN

The prize B winner is on the clock to use or pass the freeze.

Also, I have completed my review of the three incidents on file. I expect the full report to go out later this evening or tomorrow.

Prize A:

Nice, I'll make a decision on the track tonight.

Also, Sunday is going to be... fast. We have a Gr.2, a Gr.3, and the F1. As Bowler's always saying, "Faster = Better"

I disagree with that statement and I have a mountain of data that agrees with me.

The mountain agrees with me only because I define closer gaps between drivers and more position changes over the course of a race as "better" and the mountain backs that up over a long period of time.

Probably busy playing hockey or boiling maple syrup or something.

I'm sure boiled maple syrup is even more delicious. :yuck:

Those Canadians have some weird habits. Like what's the big deal with ketchup chips? Costco can't even keep ketchup Doritos on stock. Canadians go nuts.

Don't forget aboot the bagged milk.

 Cultural Differences.
I'm sure Canadians can pick on more than a few weird things Americans like. Such as baseball or our odd political leaders.

Btw @MajorBlixem , I was laughing on the grid at your Trudeau Livery decals.

For those of you who put off practice until Thursday, just before the Official Snail Sessions, or until the weekend ......... Beware of the F1500 at Brands Hatch Indy. It isn't "Pedal to the Metal" like it was a the Kyoto track - this time it will be more "Partial Pedal", at least in my experience last night.

That is not to criticize or complain about the Combo, just to draw attention to the balance needed to be successful in that one.
I ran about 25 laps last night in TT Mode before lap times started coming down. Still had trouble putting a series of good lap times together.

I think us Canadians take the cake when it comes to odd political leaders........Unless of course you're a female, or someone identifying as one, and like great hair and selfies. I'm sure Everyone else here thinks he's an idiot like his Dad was!

Couldn't agree more Tex. This is a totally different animal at Brands Hatch. I think it will be very easy to spot the ones who don't get a few laps in on this combo. Having said that, I love the combo and the challenge it brings, but I'm in need of as much practice as possible this week.
#SnailSpeedWeek" lol

Don't worry, we only have to string together 16 decent laps in a row... :boggled: :banghead:

We will probably need multiple sessions for qualy. Think we can get it done in 2 or would 3 be needed.

@JLBowler

Yeah the F1/Brands combo is going to be quite the challenge. Its especially challenging with how much "turbo lag" the car has, and battling close with someone can be tricky because of it. At least you can hear their car better than your own so you have an idea when they're going to shift  Also I ran off a few times in Tec's prac lobby last night and this car HATES being in the grass. Its like driving on black ice x10.

In my almost 2 years in snail I think this is the first time I will have raced at brands gp/indy. I looked at the Track Boundaries OLR section and it says "no exceptions". That piece of track after turn 2 on the "back stretch" has a pretty wide run off area that allows you to carry more speed after the turn. The way I understand it is the brown/green rumble run-off is still considered out of bounds and you must keep 2 tires on the traditional red/white kerb. So be careful if you end up going wide since its easy to stay on the gas 100%.

Multiple sessions for qualification will be necessary assuming you have more than 7 in the room. With a 43 second lap time, 7 cars could qualify at the same time if everyone actually starts at 5 second intervals. 6 qualifying at the same time would probably be a safer number as there is always someone who doesn't get started until 7 or 8 seconds after the guy in front of them.

Everyone should refresh their memory about qualifying procedures. They can be found here. Of particular interest will be the parts about getting caught from behind and going off track.

@SAMHAIN85 is correct in his post just above this one. The area beyond the red / white rumble strips is not considered to be part of the track and you must keep at least two tires on the track at all times. To tie that into the qualifying rules, if you were to run with all four tires beyond the rumble strips during qualifying you would be considered to have left the racing surface and your qualifying run would be over as you would have to pull off the track and wait for qualifying to finish.

We had a taste of multiple qually sessions on Sunday and it worked fine. Everyone cooperated well. With some people cough Sam cough cough hitting the 39's we will definitely need 3 qually sessions.

I saw a few people hit 39's and maybe even a 38 with the 1500, d1 and d2 drivers. I will have another practice lobby open tonight for those who want extra time driving in traffic. Will open room between eight and eight-thirty Eastern. My room is usually named Drive Clean Please, easiest to find if you search by track.

Yeah, thanks @Tecticles for opening a room. I had a fun time trying to get some laps down in the Gr2 NSX - my fastest were actually the first few before I tried to push it (of course). That is one of the reasons I left when you guys switched to the F1500, I didn't want to bog down others on that short track. I will probably do what @TEX36 did and run a bunch of TT laps and then maybe join you all.

Just so you know, if I am hosting you aren't bogging anyone down. I used to feel/think the same way, but being on track with these guys is what actually made me much better than I was. I'm not any faster than you, I promise you that. That being said I don't want you to feel uncomfortable.

Just be aware for you guys practicing offline TT i dont know if its changed since updates but last time i did a tt compared to a lobby practice the car felt different and lap times werent the same either. I dont know if this is true anymore i havent practiced offline in a bit with combos.

I always just assumed this was because we have fuel/tire wear at 1x in lobby practices.
