Hey guys, I have some good news for anyone who hasn't got a ButtKicker yet. @Oshawa-Joe asked me recently if we had another coupon code since the one created for the ButtKicker Challenge V had expired back in January. I asked ButtKicker on Joe's behalf and they've temporarily activated discount code SNAIL25 for us again! This gives us 25% off (and free shipping as well). :cool:

I'll also extend my offer from last November. Anyone who buys a ButtKicker using our discount code SNAIL25 will also get a free 6" SNAIL decal in the color of their choice. Just post a pic of your new ButtKicker on this thread and tag me. 👍

Hooked up my new transducer.
If I get an ‘optical to RCA’ adapter (to utilize the optical out on the PS4), what ramifications will that have on my DS4 audio that I use for sound & chat?
I have PS4 sending audio/video to 4k TV via HDMI. I’ve used the headphones out jack on tv but I can’t use DS4 headphones at same time and therefore lose chat capability.

My TB headset uses the PS4 optical out and the usb for chat. I'll be using the optical out from the TV to run the Gamer 2 via the digital to analog converter.

How about using the headphones out from the TV to the Gamer 2?

The SNAIL Sunday Scoring Sheets have been prepared and is ready to go for tonight

What could possibly go wrong when the Mad Max Signature Double Move meet with the Ricciardo Signature Extreme Dive Bomb....? Even in SNAIL this could bring you closer to the Last Change List..... :lol:

It depends on what headset you are using. If you're using the chat headset that comes with the PS4, I think you are locked into only using it and have no options available for addition audio outputs. However, if you get creative with splitter cables and can connect the headphones to the tv headphone output while still using the ds4 for mic input, you may be able to work it out.

Far as I can tell, the ps4 has 3 audio outputs: hdmi, optical & ds4. (HDMI and Optical are treated the same in the menus as TV or AV output) And two audio (chat) inputs: USB & ds4. You can use almost any combination even though the ps4 will usually default to something other than what you want. So you have to go into the menus and tell it what to do.

There is also a menu option 'output to headphones' that can be confusing on what it does. The options are All Audio and Chat Audio and seem to determine which audio INPUT port will also output audio. This one drove me nuts for a while. If you are using a headset that has separate analog inputs for the cans and a USB for the mic, you want to set this to Chat Audio. If you set it to All Audio, the ps4 will turn OFF the hdmi and optical audio outputs and send audio out the USB to the headphones. This is what causes the issue when using the ds4 headphone port.

No idea what you said, but I like it .

diabolic has the right idea. This is the exact mindset that we wand all of our members to have. Sure, anyone could add a whole bunch of power or reduce a bunch of weight and then use the limiters or ballasts to get the PP back down to the dealership PP, but then you'd have a quirky car that drives nothing like it was intended to. Doing something like this also goes against the "spirit" of our league, which is to race as similar of cars as possible. 👍
I have read the first post and would like to join.

@cocoman0603

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add @CoachMK21, @JLBowler, @nmcp1,@zer05ive ,@Rednose58 &, @MajorBlixem as participants.

The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread. If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL :cheers:

April season D2
@BradESPN
Incredible how you and I came down to 1 point at the end of the April season (Jan was same 1 point difference but in D3). What’s interesting is that each of us excels different tracks/cars. That’s probably true for many here in SNAIL. In any case, it’s been super fun since I rejoined very last week of 2017.

Thanks to all you behind the scenes guys that make SNAIL steady and sure. :cheers:
Thanks to ALL you gentlemen-competitors that make SNAIL so much fun.
:gtpflag:
D1 scores and votes in.
Unpopular opinion: I liked combo 3 :)
I’m with you. I like the challenging combos most of all. How else will we improve our skills so quickly?

Yep, the "rivalry" continues to grow - I do a bunch of Daily Races/FIA events so I think I have the advantage on Gr* combos, while you've got me beat on all the N* class combos.

Better keep practicing, Rob - I'll be looking for revenge next season.
