I am open to suggestions for a new car/track combo.

The new Renault Sport Megane Trophy gr.4 (Renault hasn't been driven since 2017), also a wonderful car for in car view drivers, lots of visibility. Car has tons of grip on the corner, but lacks top end power, so we should be able to see interesting battles in the technical sections.

Maggiore - West is nice as it's got a long straight to overtake going into the hairpin and the rest of the track is quite technical with a late apex turn and what not. Personally I always like the race cars. Randomly drove the GT-R Gr. 4 with a controller and it was really fun/easy so with a wheel it should be great.

Just random talk: The BMW VGT is like a GT3 car but a bit more power and a bit less weight. Kind of like the Renault R.S.01 one-make. It was designed to be like GT3 but just that little bit "more". To make it work in GT3 and be fair they added weight, took away power, and reduced the downforce. I like how it drives in the first place without those limitations. In Project Cars 2 it's surprisingly easy to handle near the limit so I'm curious how it is in GTS.

In-game stats for the two are:
BMW VGT - 541HP // 2,601kg // 350/730 aero
RS01 - 542HP // 2,522kg // 350/730 aero

So the RS01 is simply better by being 79kg lighter. What's really bad though is they have the same aero settings in game as the Gr. 3 cars. The RS01 should clearly have more aero. The game description at least says it gets carbon-fiber breaks over the basic steel disc ones in GT3 cars.

Gardens II (Reverse) has a good rhythm just like the forward version. I like having that big sweeper for a last turn as you have room to go side-by-side and still both have momentum to drag race to Turn 1

Were you on stock tires or SNAIL spec tires? Just curious.

Which changes how it will race. Test it in a group with everyone on SS tires to get a true representation of how it might go. 👍

He asked for recommendations, there is no law that says I need to test every recommendation before I recommend it.
I'll recommend based on the knowledge I have of how the car handles with RH, and the knowledge I have of how other gr.4 cars I've driven with SS handle.

Implying that the car will magically race poorly because you've effectively gone down 1 tire compound in grip level is asinine and unproductive.

👍

Can't believe the Porsche 919/Monza is sticking around.....I for one am very Happy about that, I love this combo.

@racingchamp30 @TEX36 @src_ej6 Congrats on earning the prizes this round :bowdown:

Like has been said "practice makes perfect" but in racing would be "practice makes you go faster" I can remember first time i started to race the 919 at Monza i was getting times in the 1:35's and over these past 2 weeks of using at the same track, i have gotten into the 1:34's. Been awhile since GT6 that i did as well as i did last Sunday so my hands were all sweaty :lol::lol: as anyone in here knows not just from doing so well but trying your best to keep the competition behind you. I have been taught to be a cleaner, faster driver by watching replays of faster drivers when i first started out in Snail. The newer drivers can watch replays of now people who been with Snail a few years so they can see where we are taking the lines in turns to get through faster and braking points. How we keep learning from one another. For the newer drivers and if you saved your replays from last Sunday night racing, go watch Combo 1 Race 2 of my race so you can see where i took my braking points, driving lines to be faster than others and will help to learn or watch many of the other skilled drivers in D3. Where others use a steering wheel, i use a controller using left analog for steering, X for acceleration and Square for braking. When it comes to starting from the back in the 2nd race after winning the first race is patience being key, not forcing a pass and keep the pressure passing as clean as possible without contact. In the 2nd race will see both me and @gulfvet67 were racing for several laps with no contact between us.
