Nice picture @SAMHAIN85 ! LOL...
After a couple of years of daily use the Grandstand is as sturdy as the day I received it.... highly recommendable!
The Crew Chief provided the GranStand Cockpit for me 5 years ago. As the Major said, it is as sturdy now as the day it was set up. Highly recommend it.

Hey guys..... seeking a little help. I got my wheel yesterday; & all I can say is wow. Love the more "immersive" experience. Only problem I am having with it is that the USB cord attached to it is too short. So now; I am looking for a USB extension cord to help add length w/o diminishing input & effects. I am looking for something inthe 8-10' range so that I can sit on my couch across the living room from where the TV & system are set up. Also; with the thrustmaster T150; what would you guys suggest as "decent" peripherals when it comes to the Force Feedback for GT Sport. I know everyone has their own opinions on this; however was playing yesterday with the "factory" settings; and could absolutely not pull off the sharp corners without completely flying off the track. I did look it up on the 'tune; & see where some people were saying to move everything to 1, but to me that sounds a little low & seem as if it would "wash" everything out. Any assistance with either of these issues would be greatly appreciated.

You can use a USB extension cable without any issues. I use one, got it at Ace hardware. As for feedback settings, back when I was using a T300, I used 2/7. The Max Torque setting sets the amount of resistance you feel in the wheel when turning the wheel and the Sensitivity setting is for how much road feel you want.

As far as USB extension cable, should I go with 2.0 or upgraded to 3.0?

Actually am looking at getting a GT Omega stand here i the near future. Just looking for a cheap alternative to use temporarily. Right ow; have the wheel set up a 3' X 3' folding card table... Also lacking a good chair at this moment. Do have a few dining room chairs; however very uncomfortable to sit o with the pedals. would hate to have to slide the whole tale & couch forward anytime I wanted to play.

If you have any kind of woodworking / metalworking skills and you can get away with using something ugly for a while, I would suggest building a stand that you can adjust and change as needed until you find something that is comfortable as far as dimensions go. Once you have that, start looking for a stand that you can purchase that can meet those dimensions. If you're a talented woodworker / metalworker then you should be able to make something custom that would be just as nice if not better than a commercially built stand.

I made my own. I’m quite proud of my creation so when someone starts asking about rigs I post mine.

All this talk about setups and wheels and building stuff, I had to dig up the photos from "phase 1" of my current project. I got this far with it in Feb. 2016 and it's still at that point and still in use. Other stuff has come up and household projects have been put on hold until we decide if we are staying in our current house or moving. I should know around March which way that will go. Maybe then, I can finish my project. Of course that will have to be either after we move or after I finish a list of other stuff such as a walk in pantry, extension to the back yard decking around the pool, BBQ patio, attic insulation, awnings over the front and side windows of the house, and whatever else has been added to my honey-do list without my knowledge.

On second thought. I have the sheet of wood for the side and all the paint. Maybe I'll just move this one to the list of stuff I can do regardless of the decision to move or not.

Here is phase one of my most recent rig construction project. This is the phase where all the necessities are connected and all fitment testing is done. What you see there is basically the frame work and necessary panels on which mount hardware. It works as it is. The next step is to add a console for tuning notes, cup holders, and controllers along with the keyboard. The headset will hang on what was the seat belt guide on the seat by the headrest. Next step is paint and other pretty stuff. Once it's finished, I may post some more pictures.

Hopefully not late. Internet just now back up for me after centurylink outage.

I have read the first post and would like to join.

@Rick Bohart

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add @CoachMK21, @JLBowler, @nmcp1,@zer05ive ,@Rednose58,@MajorBlixem & @SAMHAIN85 as participants.

The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread. If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL
