Polling question: upgrade to better wheel and pedals or upgrade to better rig?
I left early because it had gotten late. Was like 8pm when we were starting the last combo and. Ive had to be up earlier for work. I plan on being around more often now that the divisions are a bit more balanced.30 Unique drivers for the November season. 28 Unique drivers for the entire season in December and 27 on the first night in January. Granted, a couple of those didn't hang around for the whole night but it's a pretty good start. Hoping it keeps up.
I choose to pass the freeze to @SAMHAIN85
Freeze the TOYOTA MR2 GT-S 1997
With your T300 and GTR-A rig you have a good setup. Priority 1 will be to upgrade to a brake pedal with pressure sensors vs. mechanical travelPolling question: upgrade to better wheel and pedals or upgrade to better rig?

I have the basic CSL Elite pedal set (no LC). Can someone attempt to describe how the V3 brake pedal will feel better or lead to better lap times on GTSport?
Well.... if you want to go fast - here is the little secret. You can do that with a keyboard, controller, cheap wheel, a full motion simulator or in a real car. Going fast is not coming from the equipment. It comes from how consistent you can do this: (Credit to Andre Marziali)I have the basic CSL Elite pedal set (no LC). I am interested in upgrading but only if I can see a lap time improvement. Looks, bling, clutch pedal do not interest me at all.
Being someone who just upgraded to load cell pedals i can say the difference is with load cell its not braking distance its pressure. Where non load cell is distance based and the pedals normally feel like a sponge. I believe the load cell is easier to create a muscle memory connection with them over the normal ones because for me it was hard to create that muscle memory due to the pedal being to soft. I believe either could be fast with enough time on the rig. Just remember no matter what u choose evertime u change a piece of equipment until you become familiar with it you will be slower and less consistent.Well I am aware of all that. I used to do actual track days at Sebring in an old 911 and have raced motorcycles a bit as well.
I am talking about the “feel”difference between the two. Finding braking limits and feeling it change as the tires wear down.
So many people say how much it can change your racing but I wish I could get an explanation before buying.
Adding a load cell to your brake pedal is the single largest gain you will ever experience in sim racing: Full stop. (See how you slip in the pun for humor? And even a pun within the pun?) Someone may say, ‘motion sim’ or direct drive but if you’re hem-hawing on a load cell purchase, it’s safe to say we don’t ever have to entertain those discussions with you.Well I am aware of all that. Part II of this discussion (since you still look for the answer that gives you what you seek). [Forgive the double post]I have the basic CSL Elite pedal set (no LC). Can someone attempt to describe how the V3 brake pedal will feel better or lead to better lap times on GTSport?

You may have noticed [because I am given grief over it in the lobbies] that I’ve been not using ABS. There’s never one reason to do anything and it follows that I have several reasons for doing it. 1.) Loadcell braking makes it possible to drop ABS; 2.) Loadcell braking adds more pleasure to the driving experience; 3.) ABS is a crutch that controls the car for me. And to point 3, why do we sim race at all? Broadly because we enjoy controlling the car on the edge. Then why are we giving up the most important aspect of control? Let me be BOLD and say, because we cater to the majority that want to get by with the bare minimum equipment.
Admitting this in full disclosure: There’s a downside. Not utilizing ABS will make you slower in general. Many cars are fabulous and a few are really awful. Good cars allow you to approach equivalent lap times (as w/ABS). Awful cars mean you will be 2 seconds slower in lap times.
If people latch on to this conversation, they’ll come up with many other excuses why going without ABS has many other downsides; cost, more IRs, general chaos, blah-blah, yada yada . . . Yes, there an adjustment period. I contend the racing would be more realistic. I contend the racing would be more enjoyable. I contend the racing would still result in aliens still remaining aliens (I’ve seen it).
