I always liked map scale 1.

Also try racing with drivers list turned off. ;) those 100 times a race you look up is broken concentration and eyes where they don't belong. You won't have that list in a real car. Map for referencing cars around you. Is basically your mirrors. So it's a must outside multi screens.

That's a good idea. I'm going to try that the next time I'm practicing. You're exactly right though, there's no need to worry about the leaderboard. You should be more concerned with the cars in front of you and immediately behind you.

The leaderboard is useful to me. If I have a lead on someone, depending on who it is, I'll adjust my race style to fit. The only time I check it is on a straight ;)

If they're generally faster than me, I'll up my pace. If they're generally the same speed or slower, I'll relax the pace to minimize offs.

This all depends on whether I think I can catch the person in front of me though.

I've been forced off of the track several times on the outside. It's terrible and it's grounds for a penalty. The inside car needs only to leave room enough for the outside car to stay on the track, though.

If you're worrying about what's behind you, you're not going fast enough :P

Only concentrate on the road ahead

Someone turn off the Alien beckon. ;)

Hi Veloci. You joining area 51 Sunday?

You can say that, but I prefer to call it race strategy. Almost every book I've read says drive just fast enough to win 👍

I don't always end up in a place to vie for the win, so I've extended it to apply to almost any position I'm in.

Basically, I don't have to drive flat out every corner or lap, depending on the situation. I drive fast enough to stay in front, again unless I'm in a position to challenge for the spot in front of me.

Haha, you can blame Gumball for all this :P Yep, I'll be there to duke it out with you guys

Let me rephrase what I was trying to say, as it was meant to be facetious with the wording i chose. If you're checking your mirrors, worrying about the driver immediately behind you, you are concentrating less on what is going on in front of you, i.e. the next corner brake and turn in points. This will give more of a chance for a mistake and in turn making you worry even more about the guy who is behind you/in front of you now. If you just run your pace and race the track/clock as opposed to the drivers, then you have a better chance at getting the position you wanted. That is all :)

I got what you were saying for sure 👍

I don't check the track map and drivers list at every opportunity or to the point of distraction. I check when it's convenient, eg. running down a straight and make a mental note.

I've gotten so used to the mini map zoomed in that my peripheral vision picks up when cars are closing in now. Kind of freaked me out the first time it happened

First sign that you are becoming a SNAILien!

Hello, I think I was in one of your practices rooms last week and the racing was great. Many great drivers on the list 👍
What is required to sign up for this? I don't have a USB drive so uploading a lap time be impossible. And is it required that I race every week?
Thanks, hope to race with you again.

Glad you're interested. Another sure-to-be D1 driver fo sho.

Just do the time trial you are about to receive and send the lap time to the person that posts it. You don't have to race any weeks, I haven't yet.

Hey carracerptp,

Glad you're interested in racing with S.N.A.I.L. 👍 The following outlines what you need to do to race in S.N.A.I.L. no USB drive needed :) We encourage racing every week as our season is a month long with your best 3 of 4 weeks counted, but it's not required. Just let us know when you can't make a night 👍

Please read the following:

We run a clean league by enforcing the S.N.A.I.L. OLR and we expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both.

Follow These Steps:
1. I add you to the drivers list as a New S.N.A.I.L. (Done)
2. You run the Time Trial.
3. You Private Message my GTPlanet account with your time from the time trial (no Sunday racing until this is completed).
4. I assign you to the appropriate Division, to give you the best racing possible.
5. A PSN friend request will be sent from the appropriate SNAIL_Division1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 account. That is where you race on Sunday night.
6. You drive fast and clean on Sunday :)

The first post has all the rules and regulations for S.N.A.I.L. It is the first place you need to check if you have a question. If it's not answered there, feel free to post your question on the thread.

The second post has the current race lineup for Sunday and is updated weekly.

If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, post your choices in this thread.
To avoid duplication, the currently claimed combinations can be found here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all S.N.A.I.L.s to join as many as possible.

Welcome aboard and enjoy :)

If you guys can buy the new Honda weider HSV-010 SUPER GT (0.99$).. we should definitely try it !! is faast and is not hard to handle it !! :DD

Sweet, thanks Hill :)

I'm more than happy to as well, but am in the same boat, pretty full schedule.

If you only want to go as fast as D2 , pm me, we'll see if we can work something out.

Thanks so much for the tutelage, kcheeb.

I can't believe how much difference one hour can make in how I see the race course and how to set up corners. Suzuka won't suddenly become a pussycat, but I'm MUCH more comfortable in how I'm going to approach that tiger.

Well done, sir! 👍

Thanks Handlebar, glad you're a quick learner :) Keep having fun 👍

Hey kcheeb are u trainning or what is that :embarrassed:? XD

I'm giving it a shot, more than willing to share what knowledge I have

Carr needs to be in D1. I chase him in most races. ;) just to save both parties the effort. He's an Alien that came in on the same ship as Veloci, Joey, Gumball, Jazz and the likes.

Of course they are mad, dey's aliens!

And the looming storm that no one seems to be aware of it that, as more of these other worldly drivers descend on our little world, more and more of the "scientists" from D2 and upper D3 will start to trickle into our (somewhat) comfortable little D3/4/5 cities... Man, there are some dudes in D4 that I have only seen on the starting line. I guess I better learn how to go a little faster!:scared:
