The biggest challenge to SNAIL is the lobby settings or lack there of at the present time.

I did say "almost" 2 mil per hour. A little optimistic I'm sure but my point is that credits are not that hard to come by as some would have others think. There is also the option to set up a custom race at Northern Isle and use the rubber bands. If memory serves, a 200 lap race with two cars pays out 70k (not exactly sure on this number). That's not bad to earn while you're doing something else for a couple hours.

*This is assuming the rubber band trick will work with GT7. It's not the same type of payout as previous games but it's better than earning zero credits while you're having dinner with the family.

I could see allowing all the prize cars up to menu book 9, that's where multiplayer opens up, as that would be the minimum progress needed for a person new to the game to complete in order to race online.

Based on discussions to date, the credit cap will be over 100k to start. This is assuming a work-around for the lobby settings issues can be found or will be provided through an update to the game.
No question the broken lobby system is issue #1. I didn't bother even mentioning since it's so clearly a mistake that I'm assuming that will get fixed asap, and I'm hopeful they correct the lobby search filters and no tuning parameters as well.

My comments on the youtubers wasn't directed at your post. I should have perhaps formatted it better. I agree credits should not be hard to come by at all once up to speed.

Oh and how many of you have been pit maneuvered? I have been spun from behind at least 10 times.

Just unlocked the last track tonight. No time for last menu book tonight.

Current status:

Collector level 25
860 miles driven
9 cars bought
$1.3 mil spent on cars
$357k spent on tuning
8:46:26 time spent driving

Only done the minimum required so far…just basic B and A license. And just the one required mission.

Yeah the AI is more than happy to move aside as you approach from behind, only to then betray your trust and send you into trusty ol’ Barry R.’s warm embrace.

Finished [final] menu item 39 last night with 2016 911 GT3 RS pumped near 800 PP. The last menu takes a while! Afterwards got 6 star roulette item of 5 bars of gold equaling 500,000 credits! I’ve spent credits without much regard, figuring I’ll always make more. Currently, I have 2.5 mil burning a virtual hole in my pocket.
Went back for Gold in international A-8 and A-9 but no 🎲 🎲 (hit snake eyes). Good that one has to work hard for some gold. I have to review Super license for all gold also.
Still have track training and missions. All tracks are unlocked so I don’t know what these will get me? More credits & gift cars?

I’ve recently been contemplating our cultural view, wherein HOPE plays a an incredible role. I was in product development for 24 years and I was once told that hope is not a tool. That resonated with me and still does. Polyphony digital is not going to fix the software based on our hope and desires. Do you see that they still have the search box for “full lobbies”? It still doesn’t work. What I can tell you is there’s a different kind of hope in a spiritual sense that is wonderful and is a guarantee: Hope is the knowledge of God’s promises, that by faith, we know will occur.

buy the Cayman GT4 car and put IM tires on it. Good to go :) Easy win. Car is on rails.
It's too bad I didn't know this before I bailed on the N'ring in the 911 (997) and bought the 911(930) in the used car lot. Maybe I'll go back and see if I can get a 2nd one free. :)

While most of my stats match @IceWarden there are 2 notable exceptions: distance driven and collector level. It is obvious who is the more efficient driver. 😁

At present I’m working on menu book 33 (Championship: World Touring Car 600) and I’m not having success. I’ve tried my 25th anniversary Prius and the Honda NSX and haven’t podiumed yet. What cars and mods have been successful for you?:)

I forget exactly what the requirements are for that one but I will oftentimes look to a Race Car I own (or buy one). All the race cars allow you to detune the engine somewhat. If that doesn't get you there, then you can put SS tires on. I have found the biggest difference maker is downforce. Get a race car with downforce and you are good to go. The only tune "ups" I do are tires. Otherwise I try to tune "down" with the computer or tires.

This is why the Cayman GT4 was so successful at the Turd. I also have the OG Supra GT500 at my disposal. I have used it for several things...just detune, different tires...thing is literally on rails. And the corners is where you make up a ton of ground on the AI.

BTW...aren't you all so happy to be "invited" to spend millions on certain exotic cars? I'm like...why thank you sooo much for the "invitation" but no thanks.

My take on GT7 after playing it for the first time for a few hours tonight (and just long enough to unlock online)

The good:
  • Smoke for days. Tire smoke was turned up about 10 notches, and youll now find theres smoke coming from under the hood after a hard enough impact. Your hood will also look crinkled.
So apparently they updated the smoke sprites in the update. It now looks like this:

Seriously are they trying to make this game even worse than it is right now? And why are you tinkering with such a miniscule effect WHEN WE CANT EVEN CHANGE SETTINGS AS A LOBBY HOST? Dear Lord

And any chance we might be given the Ford Bronco in a future update? Namely a '93 in White?

That is moving way to fast to be "that" white Bronco.

Reminds me of a bad joke from back in the day.

What's the difference between O.J. Simpson and John Elway?
One drives a slow white bronco, the other one is a slow white bronco.

I have been super lazy and noncommittal to the career mode, so I took the Porsche 917 Legend(I must have won it or it came with the anniversary edition because I certainly didn't buy it) and put full wets on it and detuned it to 699pp and it was effortless to breeze through everything with it. It was tedious and time consuming, but required no effort and presented no challenge. The car is stable and fast enough on wets even in the dry to maintain 20+ second gaps to keep the progress lazy and comfortable. Since there is no wear in the career mode, I just left the wets on all the time.

The Marketing Gimmick to get you to spend the freebies.. so they can start collecting needed revenue for KAZ next Vacation.

last time he made it to CDMX.

By the way to the Snail leadership... it seems that the SnailRacing.org domain is due for fees. It is not longer redirecting to GT PLanet. gtplanet.net/snail also doesnt work any more. I'm not happy snail.

I use the SnailRacing.org on all shared photos.... trying to help with recruiting.

I agree on the lobby host part. I looked and there is no way to save current and able to upload the next combo like i were able to in GT Sport. When i read reviews that PD would keep the similar settings to multiplayer, i had thought that the lobby setting would be the same or similar, not options taken out.

No "official" practice tonight but anyone is welcome to host a lobby and post the lobby # here (and not just today, any time or day for that matter)

On that note I wonder if PD has changed the lobby ID # system, or if we're still stuck with the same 20 digit format. It's as if you're punching in a Game Genie code into your Super Nintendo in 1996. I guess we'll find out soon.

I still have a lot of unlocking to do but might hop in later if a lobby is up. Unless the game update fixed the streaming bug I won't have a stream up

I was just online, and didn't see a room ID displayed...unless I was missing something.

With everything that has been removed from online lobbies thus far, this doesnt surprise me.

I know Kaz reads our thread with his morning coffee: KAZ WTF?

That made me feel like Old Snail D3 Times!!! I actually quite like it... Some of the AIs actually have different lines and squeeze your macaroni...

Two night ago I was doing the Suzuka race on the GT3 McLaren... and that was actually pretty darn hard to get to podium... took me quite a few tries and had to actually elbow some of the cars to pass them. That was quite a work out.

Anyone know how I can move my Decals from GT Sport to the GT7 Profile via the Gran Turismo website?

Have you read the manual????

Not sure if thia helps anyone, but...

It's possible to afk that 1 lap SSRX race for 45k. I tape the controller trigger throttle down and set the transmission on automatic. At the start I move the car slightly to the left so it passes everythjng going up the hill, and let it ride the guardrail round the turns. At the end of the lap the rail sends the car into the pits, but if you have a car that can run 250mph+ it will be 30+ seconds ahead by then and cross the s/f first by 15-20s while rolling through pit lane. I assume any stable car that goes 250mph will work. I've been using a 2019 Vette ZR1 with all the power adders at 1066hp, with full custom transmission quicktune set at 410kph, otherwise stock. Pays 45k and takes a bit over 5 minutes on track, so I've been letting it run while doing things round the house and restarting whenever I walk by. It's not the most time efficient method, but its lazy and reliable.

Finished the last menu book. Quite the chore. 5 long races. Used the Castrol Supra with RS tires. Not the fastest top speeds but the cornering is awesome and the brakes will rip your eyes out of your sockets.

All went well until the Turd. 2 laps. 1st lap was in the dark…so awesome? Got pitted twice within 30 secs. Got run over both times by incoming traffic. Fun.

But recovered and managed to pull off the win as the sun came up.

I just finished too, now circuit and mission races, only needed A license to finish Menu Campaign, Do we need higher Licenses for other races I hope so,

And I’m already missing No tuning races with Snail but Multiplayer is a joke right now.

Super License . S5 with the Super Yaris. I can easily get Bronze.... scratching within less of a sec of Silver.. but seems very far from Gold.

I've always struggle with Rally racing. Any tips?

You think it’s producing less smoke? I did some donuts after the patch today in a M3 with SS tires, and I was covered in a dense cloud of smoke, just as much as before. I don’t think they changed anything, they even released a long list of patch notes and nothing about smoke was mentioned. Maybe you have a harder compound equipped there? I also know that the smoke model GT7 takes into account other factors like weather, temp, compound, type of asphalt, etc to reproduce more realistic smoke effects.

I am having a hard time myself with that one. All i can say is practice and you will eventually get gold, that is what i am doing, keep trying till you get it. I use my slower ghost car as a way to take corners faster.
