That’s it. It was Snail tuning prohibited racing but within a preset PP range.

Basic rules…let’s say we chose 1600PP limit for the night. You pre choose 4 cars to race. All your cars had to add up to 1600pp. And you had to choose 1 FR, 1 FF, 1 MR and 1 4wd. All cars had to be within a certain range…say 380-420pp.

Just an example. There would be 4 races and you run each car once.

That’s kind of the gist of it.

Maybe it could include reasonably priced Legendary cars like the Camaro that’s currently on limited stock.

You could pick whatever you want within the game. That’s the beauty of it. At any one race there could be 16 different cars on track.

We would set guidelines beforehand like no race cars or vice versa because it’s not good to race cars with downforce against cars without. Each race everyone uses the same tires as well. But you can choose any car available to you as long as it’s in the PP range and uses the same tires.

I remember this was quite fun. I would be excited to see another snail event other than Sunday night.

@IceWarden Below are you choices. The Viper will run on RM tires. Le Mans isn't a clear indication of track so we will have to assume that its the full track with chicanes.

Lobby settings can be saved and loaded. Tires and such can be purchased without leaving the room. Canned messages have been added. As a Division host this makes me happy.

Myself as well. It will go back to same settings for lobbies that were in GT Sport. I also noticed in for grid order it is now listed as Fastest first and Slowest first. Not sure how this will change how we been starting the lobbies for races with the new settings in place.

I get my internet today and was finally lucky enough to be drawn at psdirect for a ps5! Have I been out long enough I need to resubmit membership?
Good news! You’re still listed as a full time driver so, welcome back.

All drivers need to optimize their internet connections. Static IP added to the router’s DMZ, hardwired, etc.
Even restarting your modem, PlayStation and clearing the cache can help stability.

I have been doing quite a bit of reading and research about lobby stability in GT7 and I believe it can be attributed to all lobbies being fixed host as opposed to the mesh network that we are used to. In reading the GT7 manual, it states that if room ownership is fixed and the host leaves, the room will be closed. This is exactly what happens in all lobbies at this point. Elsewhere in the manual, transfer of room ownership is mentioned. I believe this to be another mistake or oversight on the part of PD and the intent was to have both fixed and non-fixed hosts as in previous games. Fixed host lobbies simply do not give the same stability that you can get from a mesh network where all players are connected to all other players. All information has to go through a third party (the host) to be exchanged between two players if one of them is not the host.

If this is correct, we should make sure that those hosting have the best internet connections. The only way to do this is for people to be honest about their setups, connection speeds, ping and latency rates.

If you are connected via wi-fi, go buy a cable and fix your problem. This includes anything other than a cable to your modem. I've heard of people with a wi-fi router and a short cable to the PS. That's still being connected via wi-fi. If you can't run a cable, just assume that you are the problem if there are any issues in the lobby. If you're trying to run satelite internet or trying to connect via 5G, that's not going to be an optimal situation either.

Under sport mode with the newest update, we can test connection quality from the sport menu before entering the races. When i tested mine, it read as Ping 45 ms and said under it "This is a good network environment". I been running on wired ethernet connection for past 3 Sundays and connection is more solid. Connection speed for me is 75.3 Mbps download and 10.9 Mbps upload. I get an even faster Download and Upload when the weather is cooler Sunday nights during racing.
