Scores, data and votes done for D1. Great night of racing especially on the first combo with Tim and Valex. The new Grand Valley makes for some good on track action. I loved that combo. Slow car fast always produces close racing.
Not a fan of the Grand Valley combo, not from the car or track but from the time of day. The time was too dark and made the track blend in with the California dirt background too much making it difficult to see.

The high-beams from cars behind shining in the cockpit and on the windshield was a bit distracting as well.

edit- I guess that's inherent with night racing though.

I drive with the Roof / Hood Cam, I used to drive in cockpit view but I switched a couple of years ago to roof view and gained a second or two and more spacial awareness. I still drive in cockpit view for the immersion from time to time mostly in single player and when I mess around. I can understand your issues with the lighting when we are racing in the dark as the lights are blinding whe being followed.

With that said, D1 photos incoming.

Race 2 was really the highlight of my night. Tight pack racing for the first 4 laps followed by a superb three way battle with @Valex and @Timlour. It was really fun, great racecraft as usual !

HSR makes for some beautiful photos. The lighting and the surrounding area looks great. I really love what they did with the circuit in GT7. This is by far the best looking version of the track we've seen.

Not a fan of the first car/track combo.

I don't know what can be done about it, but the lag of some drivers was out of hand. I got to watch Unsteadie's car do its best impression of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Cesarr64's car was jumping from side to side like it was having an epileptic fit.

Two different types of lag at work there. At least they show up differently. Unsteddie would take flight, jump forward and back as well as side to side. At one point, he spun in front of me and teleported across the track at Grand Valley. Later in the night he went from 15 car lengths behind be to a car length in front in the blink of an eye. With cesarr, all I saw was a little twitchiness. Not great but just give an extra half a car width and you can deal with it.

In a perfect world, everyone is on PS5 and has great wired internet. This is not a perfect world.

I had @unsteddie restart for round 3. It appeared to be much better.

Wow. Either I wasn’t close enough to him most of the night or me being the host mitigated some of that.

about the lag, i have to say that for me personally i havent experienced any lag issues and im from literally the other part of the world and im also on ps4, idk about how the other see me but i can race cleanly side by side without any netcode or lag issues.
Also by the way great racing from everyone in Division 1 you guys are great.

Wow, that's crazy lol. sorry about that.

I am on ps4. I wasn't playing enough to justify a ps5. Now though, I'm playing a little more so I'll get a 5 soon. As for the internet, yes it's laggy, , I can explain. I'm in an rural area so my high speed is "starlink". Which although fast is still a satellite service. I'm pretty sure that's the cause.

All things considered the connection is not too bad. There are some basic things that may help.
Hardwire to your modem/router.
Try to minimize others in the house from using high bandwidth during racing. IE Streaming video, other video games, etc.
Restart your PS and modem prior to joining the lobby.

I'll try on Sunday hopefully things go better. The last thing I want is to mess up peoples races

Dude, I wish we had a picture or replay of you round 3 race 2 where you came out of no where on the 2nd to last turn squeezing yourself between me and another guy. Lol

I was using my VR and I see sparks flying off my car and you flying past us! Lol 😂 if only I had the cockpit replay of that man. Good Racing Brother!

I just shared a ton of pictures of that and a bonus pass on the same turn later in the race.
Check it out here:https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gt7/user/mymenu/1c5a49dd-b58d-4966-a0a9-f180f790e0b5/gallery/All/

After watching the replays no one was taking that turn right. The fastest line is to brake later and stay high and straddle the white line. You can carry more speed on exit.

Just a head's up for anyone that wants to try that line. The white line is the track boundary and you need to keep two tires on or inside of it at all times.

I'd like to thank the livery.

It is hard to keep on sides deep in turn 4. If you slide out the rear hits the wall and you lose speed, but the hardest is not getting pinched into the wall on exit from someone on the inside. Very intense!
