@Akzl298 Prize selections said Standard time, Standard time is "Afternoon" not Morning. Also there is no TOD labeled Morning, only Early Morning and Late Morning.
Default time for Brands Hatch:

Both divisions, go with Early Morning

We had fun w only four of us in D2...
If D2 raced last night, why wasn't a post made stating a Lobby was open? When I checked at 9:25, only D1 was showing up. No scores have been entered into the D2 Sunday Scoring sheet. The cutoff is 8pm EST tonight

Last night was a goat rope for D2. We only raced two rounds because two of the four that did show up eventually bowed out, leaving only Gurney and myself. Only four raced & the host didn't show up.

I did the best i could by hosting, saving the replay, and taking screenshots of the results screens. I already posted the replays of the races we did run, and I will enter the data today at work as time permits.

Thinking back on last night, it would have been better if the four of us had raced with D1 but scored separately if the slots had been available.

Lots of tight close clean racing in the first two combos. The Z at Interlagos is one of the best combos I've seen this year. Just the right amount of grip and power with a track that produces a lot of overtaking opportunities. It was a blast. The last combo was pretty tough for me as I struggle with racecars and Mount Panorama is my nemesis. I can't seem to get the hang of it, it really is a hard track to master.

I also noticed that it's been a while since we raced a FWD car, there's a 98 Civic Type R in the UCD available for the next 8 days, just saying ;)

And now, some photos from D1.

I thought the same thing. Why not all race in D1.
I had to leave after first race and felt bad leaving only 3 racers; but it was fun.

I'm in the "Snail Stats" spreadsheet, and I don't see a listing for May 2023.
@TexHill The "data" sheets need to be set up by @Akzl298 I believe, so you can't enter data until that time. The "Sunday Scoring Sheets" are a separate entity requiring a separate request. Due to my substitute teaching day with access to some of the best IT minds on the planet (teenagers) I now have my old access, ie. data sheets and Sunday scoring sheets, so I can help out. I am retired, home, and available between errands and chores.

5/7 data sheets are not created until scoring has been complete, they're essentially copied from the scoring sheets. That will not take place until I get home tonight

These TODs seem to be from GTS. I set up a number of lobbies (8) and the default each time is Weather:S01. ToD: afternoon. The ToD list varies at each track, but the longest list I could find is:

The only variation I could find is some of the ToDs are missing.
Correct, the format is from GTS. When the car and track lists were created, it was unknown that the 'default' lobby settings would not be the same as the default track ToD settings. I will be going through the track list this week to avoid future confusion.

Worth noting, this could all be avoided if tracks and ToD were picked based off of a lobby test, rather than just choosing 'Default'

@TexHill you did a yeoman's job Sunday. Way to go. Even though this is my 4th year in Snail, I'm still hazy on the details of how the organization is run, but I do know it's important for people to step up and help out, something you did admirably.

I believe there are provisions for lower 'D' drivers to move up a level(s), but not down. It might only be if your lobby is full. But, if there's no lobby at all?... And I missed my D2 buddies. :)

I know we have the “overflow” rule where if a lower division is full then anyone locked out can drive up one division (assuming the higher division isn’t full). But maybe we can have “under flow” rules in case the lower division has fewer than X drivers then they can all drive up a division IF there is enough room for ALL participants.

That would make it much more fun than 2-3 guys running around the track for 2 hours.

Thank you sir. I was glad I could help.

Mixing divisions/classes is something that is done all the time in RL racing. The 24 hours of Le Mans, Nurburgring, and Daytona are good examples. It would be a little extra work for the host because he would have to look up the D2 starting grid, but it could be done as long as the slots were available.

Great idea because a grid smaller than the 6 car grid from Gran Turismo 4 isn’t much fun to race. I just don’t know how we would compile the results in the score sheet but its an idea to explore.

The number of participants can vary a lot from a week to another. Last sunday we were 12 in D1 and the one before we were 4.

You would tally like Nova used to in his multi division races. You tally the results of each division separately.

So let's say there are 8 D1 and 8 D2 in the room. No matter how the finishing order is mixed up amongst D1 and D2...the D1 drivers would get P1-P8 amongst themselves. And D2 drivers would get P1-P8 amongst themselves. It doesn't matter if any D2 drivers finished ahead of D1 or vice versa. They only get graded amongst their own group. Even though they are all on the track together.

And in reverse grid you could have the faster division be first (only reverse order) or the slower division. Depending on if you want the two divisions to interact more or less during the race.

You could even go as far as Nova did and stagger the starts of each division. He used to have the slower division go when the flag dropped. The rest of the cars hold their position until a certain number of seconds reads on the race clock. Say 10 secs...then they all go at the same time. Anyways...that's probably a step too far.

@IceWarden 100% with you. And now that the lobbies are more stable, I’m sure we would be ok with a full 16 car grid. It went without a hiccup yesterday with 12 drivers. My new wired connection probably helped too, I procrastinated a lot to plug in my PS5 directly but it was worth it.😂

I see we have circled back to the cycle of, "I want bigger grids" as opposed to, "I want more balanced grids." Personally, I couldn't care less one way or the other. I probably won't race on a Sunday night until fall or winter.

If we race in one room then we have one division and D2 will cease to exist until such time there are enough drivers to consistently populate it. Since D2 didn't run a full night, this can be done right now. If it is done right now, there is no place for overflow drivers to go if that should happen. If this practice would have been in place last season, drivers would have been turned away 2 out of the 4 nights.

The other thing to consider is that if we are going to assign that many people to one division, the guys that show up and run less than a full night should consider bowing out and allowing those that intend to run all six races their spot.

Well it’s more of a deal where only 3 were in D2 and D1 had 12. Like I said…only in situations where the lower division had fewer than X players and the higher division could take them all.

Not all the time…just when there were only a few to race in the lower division.

Where is that threshold? Is it 3, 4, 5 in the lower division? At best, it's inconsistent. What if there were 7 and 7, would you combine that? There is room to do so. Who is going to manage it on race night? How much time will be added to admin duties between races?

@Akzl298 @Rednose58 To whom it may concern, With the help of @TexHill D2 scores and data for May 07 have been entered. However, there is an error with a couple of values; R2 Best Lap and Points. I've checked for my usual dumb typos and deleted data and re-enterd it (the sign of insanity :)) to no avail. I hope this helps.
